QUOTE (Ontarkie @ Nov 2 2007, 10:02 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I just did a timeline search and only one couple who got their NOA2 from CSC about the time as you has reported case received by NVC. Have you tried calling the NVC, and did you speak with someone or just used the automated voice system?

We've called NVC and spoke to someone....they say usually 2 to 4 weeks and could take up to 90 days crying.gif

Is there somewhere one could look to see what the timelines are for this? I'm just curious to see the wait time between CSC and NVC. I think, on average, it's been 38 days but it may be good to have a visual. Something like Liz's K1 Spreadsheet....I guess that would mean everyone needing to make sure their timelines are updated.

Can you tell my patience is running thin? jest.gif

CanadaPrice comparisons...
For us, we will have a civil wedding in Chicago. I have planned a church wedding for us - June 28, 2008. This is my first and only wedding. So, I took my sister to a fabric shop to buy all the necessary things to make my wedding dress. We got all of it, plus enough material and notions to make my daughter a dress as well for $114. I'm not sure about a head piece just yet.

I have a friend who is going to come and take pictures for us. I'm thinking of renting tents to host a reception so ppl can bring their own choice of drink. My niece will hook up some tunes for dancing etc....

Should be a reasonable party.....even have a few friends from the states coming up for the wedding here in Cochrane, Ontario (northern part).

Congrats Laura...so happy you can begin looking forward to starting the K1 process. Maybe you'll be luckier than some of us and just zip through it all. yes.gif

I hear you too - I imagined and hoped/ prayed that she would come to see the benefits - especially considering that she wants to go to college in the US in a couple years anyway. But she has a particular group of friend who she clings to and is desparate to be with.

Most disturbing, I've learned that 1 friend's parents may have actually offered to let her live there because they believe her sob story. I am so angry I could spit that someone who I don't even know is doing something to undermine my parental authority. I'm thinking of filling them in on the full story, but unfortunately they do not speak english at all so I need to have my dad along to be the translator. We'll see how that goes.

I think she's had me all to herself for so long that she just hasn't been able to come to terms with the fact that she has to share me and the move just combounds things sad.gif

As the stomach turns.........

My daughter has had me to herself for the past 10 years. Now she has to share me with 3 other ppl. She seems to think that they will take me away from her. I've done my best and continue to reassure her that we will still have "our" time together to do things - shop, go to movies, or just be together.

I've had quite a few of her friends parents tell me that she can stay with them. She tells me that she can stay with ppl...my answer to her is - "You are my daughter. You have two choices of where to live - with me or your dad. No other place." I know that isn't what she wants to hear but she also knows that when she turns 18 she can come back here if she wants. Until then, it's my rules and my way. Sorry baby girl.

I hear you. We haven't gone for our interview yet, but my 13 year old is in dire straights. I'm ruining her life. She seems to think she should be able to decide at the age of 16 where she will live. I've already put a halt on those thoughts. She will be following me. I'm going to leave her here to graduate from grade 8 with her friends. Besides I'm planning on having a church wedding here June 28, 2008.

I'm praying that she will come to see the benefits and possibilities that we've opened up for her. She will have the option of attending college either in Canada or the USA. There a many opportunities for her.

Please let our daughters see that after we've moved. Hope everything works out for you.

I think Bee just brought his tax return from the most recent year and the consulate officer didn't have a problem with that.

Thanks Nini...that is a great relief.

Aside from current tax papers, I can't think of anything else. Maybe his underwear, for some reason men tend to have the underwear of strange women and women never have the underwear of strange men. Why do you suppose that is? whistling.gif

There are no crazy questions, only OCD people who obsess about the answers.*looks squarely in the mirror* laughing.gif

CanadaHi I'm new - Just wanted to say hello
You are most welcome Nini.

My police check cost me $24.75 at the local office. I have yet to book my medical cause NVC hasn't received our I129F file yet. I will be going to Dr Seiden's office in Toronto with my daughter. We will be going to get our photos taken on Tuesday for the doctors and consulate office.

I have the paperwork filled in and printed out in duplicate. I'm going to take other documents to the office to copy for the file I will be taking with me to MTL....when I go.

Welcome Dreams. This is a great site. A friend of mine told me about VJ. I am so grateful that she did...we have found answers to questions and it's a great place to just vent some of the frustrations.

As Trail said, ask and you will receive answers. Not necessarily from me but from the wise ones....Trail, Liz, Flames, Nini to mention a few. biggrin.gif

I found that when I needed my passport and my daughters, I just went to Service Ontario. They filed it for me and I had them back within 3 weeks. I don't know if all Service Ontario's do that or just this one cause they know everyone in this small town.

CanadaK2 (soon to be 18 yrs) wants to emancipate
Well Bernie...I have a 13 yr old daughter who today wants to move (or so she tells me) and the next doesn't. We have discussed this move in length. My words to her are "This will open so many more doors and opportunities for you. As well, once you graduate from high school, you can live wherever you choose. Until then, you're with me or your dad wherever he is living."

I know I have it easier cause of the age, but I'm in agreeement with Piosenka. Ask him to go through the process in case he changes his mind.

I wish you the very best as you work towards finding a solution that will work for you and him.

Don't book your medical appointment until you receive your letter, BH. The reason being is that it's going to take some time until you receive your visa and you want your medical to be valid when it's time to file for AOS. They're only good for a year, so if it expires before you file for adjustment then you're going to have to shell out hundreds more for another medical here in the US. Make sure you ask for a copy of the vaccination worksheet when you do get your medical. You're going to need it.

Congratulations!

I have my immunization record, so do I still need a copy of the vaccination worksheet?

OK...so my daughter and I went and had passport photos taken on Tuesday. I asked for 5 pics of each of us. I know have them in my pocket. Do I need them signed? The photographer put the stamp on the back in case it was needed.

Just wondering, I know I have sometime yet before our medical and interview, but the more I can have ready, the easier it will be when the time arrives.

FYI - I called Dr. Seiden's office today and inquired about having my medical done with just having my case number. The lovely lady said no that they had been advised by the Consulates not to book appointments until package 3 had been received. She mentioned needing the letter for proof.

Our I 129F was approved on Sept 27 and was sent to NVC. I spoke to NVC on Nov 7/07 and was informed that it had been forwarded to MTL that day. All total, it was 40 days from CSC to NVC. Now I'm waiting for package 3 from MTL, which, when looking at others should be about 10 - 14 days.
