CanadaMontreal Interview Experience - 10/9/07
Congrats. Thank you for the review. You have answered a question for me without me even needing to ask it. I will make arrangements to bring my 13 yr old daughter with me to the interview, whenever that may be. My daughter is not too thrilled at moving either. I'm hoping that once we are there she will realize the opportunities that have been opened up for her.

Once again.... CONGRATS good.gif kicking.gif biggrin.gif

Congrats on the new job and pay increase .... I spent a month in Chicago with my fiance in March. He had to work and while he was at work, my daughter and I toured the area. Its tough but as Nini said...look towards the end of the road and what will be waiting there on arrival.

I honestly would wait to get the medicals until after you've received p3. The reason being that you need it to be current (less than 1 year old) when you apply to adjust status. Since this whole process takes a long time, you may be risking a request for a whole new medical and vaccines here in the US. Which will cost you an arm and a leg. No pun intended. LOL

I think that's what I'll wind up doing cause I sure don't plan on having anymore needles laughing.gif

Thanks Carla.....I'm glad I don't need to get a police check for her.

Dang it all - thought I had edited the first one.

Can I have our medicals and my police check done now even though I don't have anything from NVC or Montreal? Does my daughter have to have a police check done as well? She is 13.

CanadaStress taking its toll
As you say, things happen for a reason. When I find things happening, without any real rhyme to them, I turn it over to God and let him carry it. He has strong shoulders and tender loving hands to hold both of you while you travel this path filled with obstacles. Trust in Him to guide you through. I'll keep you in my prayers.

I know how you feel. We didn't have to wait for divorce papers, but we love each other dearly and being apart is tough. Keep good thoughts ... it will all come together.

CanadaDaughter and MTL Interview
QUOTE (Udella&Wiz @ Oct 19 2007, 10:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
You will need everything on the checklist for her as well.....with the exception of the divorce decrees and the Police Certificate if she is under 16.

Therefore you need her:

Passport
Photos
Birth Certificates
Forms filled out for her
Medical

All this will be in Packet 3 so no worries. My daughter is 15.....the Dr appointment wasn't overly popular with her, but otherwise not a big deal. At the interview in Montreal - they didn't even speak to her (despite the fact that you can't miss her at 6' with masses of curly hair smile.gif ) Frankly - she was just there for the electronic fingerprints and nothing more.

Does anyone have the exact age when they have to attend? 14+ I think ?

Kelsie is 13 ... so I'm hoping the medical will be straight forward for her. I know she won't have to have x-rays or the blood work. Will be interesting when the time comes ... unsure.gif

CanadaDaughter and MTL Interview
Hi again. I'm trying to get prepared for the interview at some point, hopefully this year. Any way, what I'm wondering is how will I know if my daughter has to come with me to MTL. She is listed on the I-129F application. I will have her DS 156 filled out. As well, she will have to come with me for a medical too, right.

Thanks for your help. This site is a fountain of information and assistance.
BH45FemaleCanada2007-10-19 21:17:00
CanadaWhat Montreal said about the X-ray
I'll be taking my x-ray. I would hate for that to be the reason my visa is held up. Besides, I don't live close enough to Montreal for a quick trip - more like 14 hours one way.

CanadaNVC and time
crying.gif I just spoke to NVC and a very nice woman. She informed me of the 2 to 4 weeks it may take for them to receive the application from CIS. However, she also said it could take up to 90 days. crying.gif

I know it's a long process but jumping jiminee.....

If you don't have patience when you start this process, you should have lots by the time its over.

Thanks for letting me vent.

I know that most applications are taking up to 38 days to be approved. Does anyone know when the best time is to call the NVC to talk with a person and have them check manually? I appreciate the input.

I have called at all different times of the day - sometimes you have to redial 5-6 times, but eventually you get through.

They say early in the morning or just before midnight it's easier to get through - haven't checked that out myself.

They are open from 8 am to midnight eastern I believe. Have you been trying the automated message system and found they still haven't acknowledged receipt of your file?

That's what we've been doing - getting the automated system. I'll suggest to my fiance that he try early in the morning or afterhe gets home from work, before he goes to bed.

Thanks, Trailmix

smile.gif Hi everyone...I'm new to VJ. I met my fiance in a chatroom 2 yrs ago. We met October 2006 but were very cautious about making a commitment at that time. Once I got home, we realized that we loved each other and wanted to be together. Before making that commitment, we felt that the kids needed to meet and we all needed to spend time together. So in March, my daughter and I went to spend a month with Larry and his sons. We all found we can live together which is really good. On the Thursday before Easter, Larry proposed and I accepted. Before I left to come back to Cochrane, we had the I-129F application filled out and ready to be sent in.

We have been approved and I am now waiting for the paperwork to go from NVC to the consulate.

I have been reading here on VJ that Montreal is slow. How slow is slow? I would love to be able to start my new life with my new hubby for the new year. Anyone think that is possible?

Oh ya - my id. Well, when I started in chat I had ppl tell me I had a beautiful heart. So bheart came to be, but many have shortened it to BH. My real name is Kelly.

Welcome to VJ kelly, glad you made hun and decided to register as a member of visajourney.

Guys, Kelly is a friend of mine from Yahoo chat, i've known her for quite some time, her and her fiance were going through the process on their own so i suggested VJ to them, i hope you will make her feel welcome! and help her out if she needs some help! biggrin.gif

Thanks good.gif
