IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE BEFORE USCIS GIVES APPROVAL ON I-130?	Thanks, the attorney told us that USCIS California service center takes a longer time because of the back logs. they said it will take 300 days or 10 mos. after the NOA1.      My case took 1 year and 6 days (372days) from NOA1 to Approval. I also use the attorney and my papers in USCIS California. After 10 months still Initial Review, my Attorney came to Liason and made a complain to USCIS then my case turned status to Evidence Response Review, 2 months after that their approved my I-130. Canada	US Green Card AND Canadian Permanent Resident	There are tax laws as well that prohibit being resident of two countries. You're either resident or you're not, you cannot have 2 tax homes. And why would you want to really? I'm going to hazard a guess that the tax rate in Quebec is probably twice that of Florida. Honesly, trying to illegally keep one's provincial healthcare active by paying 3 times as much tax as you need to is a bit crazed, no matter how much you like your doctor. I suggest you go find yourself a copy of a book titled "The Border Guide - A Guide to Living Across the Border". All the tax information you need pretty much. And when you decide you can't understand it, find yourself a qualified cross border tax accountant to explain it. One who knows the tax laws in both countries, and understands the tax treaty as well. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	Got my conditional resident card, my wife might be pregnant from other man!	I know in Canada (not sure if that is the case here in the US) you can be held responsible to pay child support if you are the one raising the child even if you know it is not your child and the child still has contact with the other biological parent. I am having a hard time figuring out if you want to stay married if it is your child or not, so I suggest you do some soul searching and decide what you really want and if it is to stay married regardless if the child is yours (that is important to determine) or not. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	Need Advice pls.	We are a March filer... sent the packet on March 5th and we haven't heard anything from USCIS till now. Check was cashed on March 18th. Since we haven't received anything, we checked our status online through the reciept number that is the WAC# and there stated that the number is invalid. My husband called the USCIS and asked about the receipt, the staff who answered gave us new receipt number (which i dont understand why he gave us new number) Checked that number online and this is what it says: On March 16, 2010, we received this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. Is this the NOA? We did not received anything in the mail and i am wondering if 1-751 and CRI89 are the same thing. Pls, i need your advice, i hope i can find answer here. Im worried, my green card will expire in May and i haven't received NOA and biometric appointment schedule. The NOA (Notice of Action) will extend the green card for 1 more year while they process your case. Crossing my fingers that you will recieve it in the mail today so you will feel at ease. I felt I needed to since he was listed on my K-1 application since he was only 20 at the time (even though he was not moving with me). I did say no he didn't live with me on my I-751. All I can suggest is maybe 2009 taxes if you have them, if not perhaps you can quickly get them done, and maybe a few more affadavits from family and friends (different people than the ones you sent). Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	Filed for Removal of Conditions(I-751) today	Am not sure about RFE but the NOA was issued using the 'new' last name The only concern I have is - when we goto get biometrics done, photo IDs will be in the 'old' last name and we will not have any documentation that would show the 'new' last name except for NOA and hopefully the biometrics letter!
