Okay, to the last of us left here without NOA2, I'm going nuts knowing that it's any day now, aren't you? I'm actually wondering how late in the day they could be working, because there aren't many approvals yet today. I'm wondering if they just haven't sent them out yet, or if people just haven't gotten home yet to read their mail, email, etc, or to come online to update.

I'm on here way too much now, I can't wait for NOA2, just so that I can breathe for a few days!! (then go crazy waiting for NVC, but at least we'll only be looking once a day for it!

Well folks, I got an RFE today, not real happy about it. I did just about everything to avoid it, but they gave it to me anyway. Well I'll just have to wait and see what the hard copy says, but I can't imagine it'll be an easy one to fix. Oh well onto the next waiting step.

I got touched today too, congratulations its a big bouncing baby RFE. :blush:



From what I've seen of RFE's lately, you get your approval not long after they get what they're looking for. No ideas what it might be? Probably more info to prove relationship?? I hope it's something you can provide super fast to them so that you don't have to wait long.

Andie, I think that Aorobert is asking if there is a kind of Igor's list for post decision applications, and no, I don't think there is. However, your own country's portal should have a similar thread to this one, it might be titled "July waiting for NVC" if not, there might be a thread called something like "August interviews at such and such consulate" I know my country's portal has a few threads along that line.

As to getting a text, email and hardcopy for the NOA2, you might get all three, or you might just get the hardcopy, or like Andie, get the email and the hardcopy only. Time will tell. You can check your status on the USCIS website yourself if you like, they don't always update them before you get notification, but you can keep tabs on it there if you're paranoid they won't get a message to you. What's up March filers? Hope you all are having a great weekend. I'm having some hard time over here, my computer crashed and I'm freaking out, since I have about 8gb with pics and videos of my hubby-to-be and my son :crying:

My computer crashed too! :( I'm on an old dinosaur and can't even open up my email, it's too slow and it says the page takes too long to respond, so I'm working on getting my laptop fixed. (cross fingers) At least I had all my pictures on an external hardrive, I highly recommend you do the same, just for safety's sake! I'm guessing the USCIS will be up and running like normally on the 6th, having stayed up late on the 4th, they'll all be hungover on the 5th. (even though Carolina predicted the 5th for my NOA2, I'm not holding my breath, though I will send her a braid of my hair if she's right!)

Why is it that I get excited when I look at Igor's list and see that there's only 20 odd names left for the March filers (remember, I'm a May filer according to my NOA2, so don't regularly check it yet) Then I don't know any of the names and realize that there are WAY more March filers in the VSC list, like 88 or so. Is it something about the demographics of petitioners in the US that makes them come online and make a timeline? Is it something about the petitioners area that makes them more likely to find love outside of the US? It's weird when you look at the lists on USCIS too, there are way more filers from the VSC area, I really don't know what it is... Anyhoo, I don't know any of the CSC March filers names that are still waiting for NOA2, so if there are still any of you waiting on here please update your lists, I'm hoping March is pretty much done except for a few stragglers. Come on April then May! (I really hate that they made me a May filer, we sent in MARCH!!)

For the VSC group, all I can say is there are so many of you still on the list that totally rock, that if there is something about the area, the demographics that makes you all similar, then maybe the people on the VSC have a little of that Moxy too, and will get their groove on and go to it! hair braided, fingers crossed, gonna wear a pillowcase for a nightie tonight!

Just a note for you who are ready to schedule your interviews soon. On the Canada portal there is a thread for people waiting to book in Montreal, and while they are currently booking interviews in September, occasionally one comes available earlier, so people keep checking dates to rebook sooner. One opened up the other day for July 5. The reason I'm letting you know this is because apparently, people that chose to pay online ahead of time, have been unable to see these appointments, and in fact, only have "no appointment available" listed on the booking site, so are stuck with the date they chose originally. My suggestion, if your embassy is anything like Montreal's with the long (3mos currently) wait for the interview, then do NOT pay ahead of time online, and opt instead to bring the money to the interview with you. It may shorten your wait considerably.

Anyone else here needing to sell a house before they move? That's what's keeping me busy here, I have an older house that needs to be fixed up a little and then put on the market. Currently, I'm working on putting in a new floor in the bathroom (this weekend maybe?) and then putting in new sink and vanity. I already have the toilet in, just have to lift it and reset it for the new floor. Then baseboards and new paint and on to the kitchen! The cupboards need to be repainted, and it needs a backsplash, and the walls need new paint, then it's getting the same floor as the bathroom. The rest of the house only needs a touch up of paint, then for sale. Stuart and I have already fallen in love with a home where he lives and we hope it's still for sale when I sell mine and move down. I can't afford two mortgages, especially if I won't be working, so we haven't put an offer in on it yet, though I'm very tempted! Anyone else know where they plan to live yet? Or are you just moving in with your fiance in the home they already have?

I just looked at that link that Amy put up on the Facebook site, and I didn't see Stuart and I in with the March filers at all, we're in the MAY group. This sucks :( We originally sent in January, then in March, and now it's putting us as May because it took them so long for our NOA2. If it's all the same to you guys, I still want to hang out in here even though technically, I'm now a May filer. What's up with that? I guess that puts us two months longer than we thought for NOA2 as well???

I just went to a friend's house for a barbecue, and had a wonderful time, and sometimes it's a little bittersweet, thinking that it might be the last few months that I get to see her for a long long time, could be forever even. I know people drift apart, it happens. I love facebook, and internet, we can always skype, but however hard it is to be away from our honeys right now, it's going to be the same for us with our friends and family when we go, some of them, we may never see again. Kinda sad...

I've sent a few emails to family in the past, after losing loved ones, to tell them what I think of them, how much I love them, cause we sometimes don't tell people and then regret it when it's too late. I might not even see some of these people until a funeral brings me back home, so I'm planning on making the most of my time left, and spend what time I can with the people I care the most about.

Tonight I had a wonderful dinner with a friend and her family. I played guitar hero with her daughter, and played nursemaid to her other (sore throat) daughter, and gave a million hugs and kisses to my friend and her husband. I have a few more people that I need to do the same with, cause it's gonna be lonesome for a while when I move. Not like when we were kids and the nearest person your age became your bff...

Matt, I think you're adorable, my Stuart is as big a mush head as you are and I love every minute of it. I hope you keep that romantic soul, and act as goofy as you can when you are together. Kish, I hope you can use your psychic powers to give me some good news. I keep seeing my timeline get later and later and later from where I thought it would be. I'd like some good news, as we originally thought it would take us only till May to be together, but our application was originally delayed and then lost, so here we are, and it looks like we might not even be together till October or later! Please tell me I'm way off!!

Today was not a good one for me guys. i was experiencing such bad anxiety, i repeatedly checked the uscis website more times than i can remember. I almost got teary eyed everytime i saw nothing changed. Its getting harder everyday especially when we ar so close to a noa2. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for me.



I'm totally with you on this one, what with my fist petition disappearing, and my second taking sooooo long to get an NOA1, I'll be happy to get an NOA2 in September. I love that you guys keep getting yours now, but can I say JEALOUS!!!!

Welcome Googled! As to the March thread being so awesome, it's one of the ways I'm passing the time waiting! We keep coming up with more interesting things to share!

As to birthdays, Stuart came up to Canada for my birthday this year, and I missed Stuart's but the Cancun trip was his birthday present, so we just celebrated late. We keep missing all kinds of holidays, and keep telling each other that it's the last one ever we'll be apart! This weekend is Memorial Day weekend in the US, so I'm busy learning what that means! I'm also planning on getting a Canadian flag to fly next to his American one, apparently I can get one free from the local MP office, and in time for Canada Day here too! Stuart just learned about the Victoria Day weekend, or the "May 24" as we affectionately call it!

I also keep myself busy with silly little 30 day challenges every month, currently I've insanely challenged myself to the Thrive Diet 30 day challenge, so no coffee, meat, dairy, corn, soy, wheat or sugar! THAT'S keeping me counting down smaller chunks of time, and every time I complete a challenge, it's closer to being with him! (this is the ultimate challenge) Next month I plan on running 30 minutes every day for 30 days, the month after, its a 100 mile diet challenge... so yeah... keeps me busy!

I was hoping people here could share the things they're talking about now to make sure things go smoothly in the marriage later! There's a ton of lists on the internet that suggest you talk about money, kids and politics before you marry, so I'm just curious how many of you have had these talks already, and what questions you've asked and answered. I'm hoping to make sure we haven't missed any! So far we've talked a little about some of them, but I want to keep bringing up topics with him as we get closer to POE day! So, if you have a list of important topics, please share!

One we got out of the way really fast is if we want to have any more kids. He has two over 18, and I have an 11 year old, so we're happy to say no to that one... the topic of how to make sure we DON'T have anymore is still ongoing. (some guys just don't want to talk about vasectomies! :P )

I'm not sure that I can afford another vacation to see Stuart while I'm awaiting the visa approval. I do have to plan this summer to sell my house though. We'll be shipping the dog down to Stuart and moving in with Mom and Dad, might spend a week at the beach here. I still haven't told my boss that I'm doing this, I'm afraid they'll hire someone else and I'll be stuck with no job while I'm waiting....

Lol, never heard of a theater serving beer, that's awesome!

My K1 is taking me to Branson Missouri... the live show capitol of the world! Missouri is really pretty and Branson sits right in the Ozarks, so there's pretty scenery outside every view. There's a home there that we went through when I was there in the fall, and if it's still available when I move, we're gonna put an offer in, it's the kind of home I've always dreamed about, him too, so really hoping it's still there! He's an aquatics directer at a resort there, so my son is gonna love that part of it, as well as going through all the attractions. Last time I went through the wax museum, Ripley's believe it or not, a haunted house, and a bunch more. They have the Titanic there as well, the whole building looks like the ship! There's also Silver Dollar City, which I guess is like Canada's Wonderland. They have a great shopping area called Branson Landing, all the streets are closed to traffic, and paved with brick, and it's shop after shop and restaurants. (they have a Joe's Crab Shack, which I love and we don't have them here, so looking forward to sharing that with my family when they come for my wedding... think we'll do the rehearsal dinner there!) The Stone Hill Winery has great wines, I really like the Norton, so I already know what wine to serve if we get our dream home, and have the wedding there. The only things I'm worried about in Branson is the job situation, as I work in health care and they're mainly hospitality and service based there, and the school situation... think I'm gonna start a thread about the schools in the US so I can understand the system a little better...

Visa in hand!!! You really never know when you will get it. We had set a date and started planning for a few months after my interview. However, there was a delay of over 4 months and we had to move the date back twice. Luckily we didn't make too many plans and didn't lose any deposits but if we had of done more planning it would have been disastrous. We finally decided to just wing it and got married a week after I got the visa. It was a small ceremony with very few bells and whistles but it was perfect anyway.

Keep in mind that you do have several months to activate the visa by entering the country and then 90 days before you have to get married. Waiting isn't fun but I guess you get to choose between a well planned elaborate ceremony or less planning but having it sooner.

Thanks for sharing this info, I have an adopted niece from Ethiopia, and while we try to learn about her birth mother's culture, it is very difficult. I will say that I love the Ethiopian coffee ceremony, the coffee is delicious, as is the popcorn that accompanies it. I also love injera and the stew called wot. You've also finally explained to me why some of my patients give their children a different last name than their own, it's the father's first name!

There is no Igor's list for the NVC. NVC appears to be having issues, we can only speculate on what those might be, as there are so many conflicting statements made by operators. Until someone compiles statistics, there is no way to determine if indeed there is a slowdown.

If you are not waiting from an NOA2 in July, please start a thread titled NVC trend June2011 thread, and NVC trend May2011 thread etc down the list and put in your information. You may be past this step in the process, but it's one way to compile stats. When someone in August or after goes through NVC, please also start a thread. Do not post in a thread that you are not part of, and if on the cusp of a month, please pick one month to post in, and state in your thread why you chose that month.

Please note that it has been said that your Embassy may receive your petition BEFORE the NVC gives you a notice. If you feel that you have been waiting longer than the average wait time, please contact your embassy to see if they have received it yet, and note that in your comments section, along with any other unusual aspects to your wait.

Maybe once a few months have filled up in here, we can start getting a feel for what's normal with the NVC. It may turn out that we all need to skip phoning them in the first place and wait a specified amount of time and call the embassy instead, as one poster noted, the NVC is backlogged on notifications at the moment.

Just to let everyone know I got my NOA2 in the mail today, My NOA1 was dated 2/25/11. I never got the email like I did with the NOA1 and on the USCIS website I was still showing under review for today even though the form was dated 7/13/11 that I got in the mail. Does anyone know why this might have happened?

Congrats! I wouldn't let it bother you, if you can help it, as you can see from this thread alone, it's not worth fretting over why some people get things differently from USCIS than others do. We signed up for the text message too, but didn't get it, but we did get an email. I've heard of others not getting an email too, until they get their hard copy. As to the website not updating, I've heard of that too, though it's not common. It might take a bit of time to update... That hardcopy is gold though, when we get ours we plan on putting it in a prominent place in a scrapbook somewhere!

That thread is 2+ years old and there is a new director there. Policy and rules change, so it isn't good to quote an outdated article. Regardless if the "we don't hold others back if there is a problem" is still in practice, which it is.

As to the whole who deserves it more thing, no one is saying that it's not harder on Monyfer because she's been waiting longer, we're saying that just because she waits longer doesn't make her more deserving. Does she love her fiance more than we love ours or something?

I will never think that one person on here is more deserving than another, and USCIS does a great job of putting through what they can put through, and though Monyfer may feel that it's at her expense, I'm sure whatever USCIS lackey has her file on their desk will be happy to see it get out of their hands.

Who would I LIKE to see get theirs next? Of course I don't want people waiting that long for their approval, so I'd say Monyfer or any of the others. Does that make them more deserving of an approval than anyone else? No, it does not.

To come on a public forum and tell everyone that you don't want to see any more March filers getting approvals because you don't have yours yet, and you deserve it first is very hateful and rude. So much so that two people got banned from this thread because of the anger it caused. We are in this together and should support each other, not tell people they don't deserve to get their approvals because you haven't gotten yours yet.
