Funny thing is, I received the Welcome Letter today in the mail. They received my RFE on July 13th and the Welcome Letter was dated July 15th! I am guessing that I will receive another email when the card production is ordered. Hopefully it will get here soon because I want to go away in August. Canada	AOS'rs...	When the guy called me the second time he told me that I'm in the system now! He said you can go back to SS office and reapply and it should work. So I go there, biking, and (this was my fault) she says I need the original of my marriage certificate, not just the copy! OMG! OK, so I bike back home, bike back there again and she says your card is not verifying still! So they get the manager and he says he talked to that guy who called him this morning but he didn't tell him that it was verifying! So someone is not telling the truth! Anyway, they sent the secondary electronic verification, and I sooooo hope it will come in next week. So I biked there twice in 30 degree weather for nothing! At least I got some exercise! Ugh... Canada	AOS'rs...	SS office called today after I emailed them last night and apparently after they submitted my application in june with EAD, the guy wrote the wrong status, instead of K1 he wrote J1. No wonder it's been a month and nothing's been done. I'm getting another phone call from him today so hopefully now it won't take too long Wow. Also, can I selfishly say I'm glad this happened to you cause now I don't have to be the only one going through THEM messing up our files while watching everyone else breeze through in approvals. There is definitely some comfort in knowing you're not alone. *hugs* At least we get to do this part with our husbands right by our side. I wrote a very detailed cover letter with my RFE stuff. Canada	AOS'rs...	oh man... I haven't been on VJ in a couple days, and wow. cdn_gewels, I can NOT believe what is happening with the medicals for us. What a HORRIBLE (and unacceptable as far as I'm concerned) thing for them to LOSE something like this. What did the Dr in Montreal say as an explanation as to why they couldn't send you a copy of the medical? I'm glad you were able to find a place that will do one for you. I can't get mine done until July 29th. I can't remember if I explained that here or not... but anyways, it's the best I could do... I'm a little stressed, because I only have until August 12 to deal with this, so that's cutting it close. They said it only takes about 2 days to get the results though, so that's good. I'm crossing my fingers for us. Sorry for the late reply back Ashen, I must have missed this last time I looked! I explained the situation to Medisys in Montreal, and without any hesitation, the representative basically replied, "No, we can't do that." I didn't really ask why, especially because I figured that would be their answer anyway. Thinking back to my POE, I did have a newbie officer, so I wonder if my medical fell through the cracks because of that. I guess I'll never know. When you do get the results, if you can, send your reply "Express." It'll be there by 3 pm the next day. It cost $18 for me. My RFE got there yesterday and I received an e-mail today stating that they received my reply and my case is back to "processing." Canada	AOS'rs...	Hey guys, I know that there was some discussion back in May regarding AP validity once the Greencard was approved. My hubby and I want to take off on a cruise to the Bahamas in 3-4 weeks. My sister will be in town, it'll be my birthday, and we live in Florida so we just have to drive to a port. I won't be working just yet, so I won't need to worry about getting "time off." I really want to get your take on the whole situation. I am being processed at the CSC, so I am hoping there will be no interview. Without an interview, does the AP become void once you get the welcome letter? I am signed up for e-mail notifications, but does that really count? We're willing to wait last minute to book something so we can evaluate our situation. Hubby needs to get his new passport in the mail too and that should be here in the next 2-3 weeks. I would just really hate to send my RFE stuff back this week only to learn that the GC gets approved just before we are set to leave. MY RFE stuff must be sent back by August 11th, so I do have a window of time there. I am debating not rushing the RFE back to give myself more time... I haven't been able to find a ballpark figure of how long it usually takes for approval after an RFE is sent back. (A recent figure anyway.) A cruise we're looking at leaves on August 6th. Feel free to share your comments or suggestions. It basically stated that I should have my card in 2 weeks. It's the same letter that I received the first time I applied for my SSN. I guess they just took a day to verify the name discrepancy in the system. Arya... Canada	AOS'rs...	RFE Update... So, I called Medisys in Montreal, but as I assumed, they can't send out another copy of my medical from October 2009. Canada	AOS'rs...	cdn- Any way you can apply to get your FL license in your maiden name now? Do you have an SSN in your maiden name? I was just wondering because without a valid Canadian license, I'm wondering if they will make you go through the whole process to get a Florida license- written test, driving test, etc. I could be wrong, and I hope I am, because that wouldn't be too fun. Unfortunately, I can't even get one in my maiden name as there is a name mismatch in their system. (I tried, twice...) My SSN needs to be in my married name as all my government stuff is in my married name. Luckily, even if my Ontario expires, I can get a Florida DL when I have the right documentation, and don't need to take any tests. I just find it so weird that all my AOS stuff is in my married name, yet there is someplace in the system that still has my maiden when the SSA was trying to process me. Canada	AOS'rs...	Ashenflowers, I got my RFE today, and they want my medical too!!! I did transcribe my vaccines by a CS here in Orlando, paid something like $150 for that as they had to give me a shot too... I called the number on the form and talked to a supervisor today, who was actually really nice, but said that I understood the paper correctly. They have no record of my medical and I have to get it done. To top that off, I went to get my SSN in my married name yesterday. Turns out, somewhere in the system they didn't change my maiden name to my married name, so they have to do a name verification and will then send me my new SSN. Too bad it won't come before my Canadian license expires (Saturday)... Now hubby will have to drive me around to get this stuff all taken care of. I am so frustrated with the system. I bet it's for the medical because I can't think of anything else that was missing, and I'm pretty particular about these things (in my case anyways... did you get your vaccinations transcribed by a CS?). Canada	AOS'rs...	speaking of emails and txts. how long after they receive the aos package do you start getting them? according to fedex they received the package on tuesday. my cheque has not passed yet, and i had to borrow money cuz of the stupid ipass auto refilling grrrr. sigh dont even have money for dog food so i have to cut them down a bit on portion size and add in extra treats. barely had enough for gas this am for david to get to work. this totally sucks..i feel so freaking useless.. living near chicago is stupid expensive, and i'm still trying to figure out how they say davids income is enough for 4 ppl in the i-864, they need to revise it i think..cuz im realizing depending on where you live it should be different. hmm maybe this shoulda gone in the vent thread ...doh! Kimbear, I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through. It's only temporary and things will get better! As for your question, I know they received my package on April 18th (Mon) and I received e-mails and texts on April 23rd (Fri). Hmm... what's written in my previous quote is truly everything the message said. It didn't specifically say Orlando, but I guess I just assumed as it's my local office. Also, when my file got transferred to CSC, I got an email and later an official notice stating California specifically. Canada	AOS'rs...	So.. I got an RFE in the mail today for my EAD. It simply says to sign and return the attached copy of my I-765 (which I thought I had done.. but guess not). The form they included is, sure enough, missing my signature... Oi... but they also circled my A#. No idea why. Do I just go off the comments and send in the signed form? Do I ignore this now, since my interview is less than two weeks away anyhow? I always have a fear that I would miss signing a form too! I double checked everything before I sent it, but there's so much to check that missing something is still possible! I would send in the signed form even though your interview is coming up soon. Canada	Time between medical and interview	I am hoping to do the very same thing. For I have looked into flights and hotels and to fly to Montreal twice is not cost effective for me. And Toronto isn't any cheaper either. (plus taking time off work is not good either, I have no vacation or sick time to use). Canada	Lawyer for CR1?	My fiance and I hired a lawyer (we didn't know we didn't need one) BIG BIG mistake!!!! I cannot stress this enough!! I wish I would have found this site before we hired him. Maybe the other operators thought P4 had not been sent because there would be no interview date in the computer? That is awesome!!! At least you have a date and can go from there!! Congrats I called this morning and afternoon and no go yet (according to the lady, but I feel I can't trust it) Another friend on here got an e-mail for thier Pkt 4?? Canada	Stupid mistake	im sure it will be fine, try emailing but if you don't get a reply- just let them know at the interview. its more for logging information- so you don't book more than one appointment. breathe! and good luck on your interview!!! I only noticed because I went on this morning to try to see if I could get an earlier date and used June (with the same passport info and everything) it let me logged in but said I haven't scheduled an interview yet?? I was confused until I looked at the print outs from yesturday and noticed it say January!!! So I will see if they e-mail me back. Edited to add, I also am wondering about a question someone upthread asked. Which letter are we to bring? I never ended up actually getting a P3 although they logged my response and sent out P4 (which I also have not received, although I was told it was sent on May 18 - how long does P4 usually take? ). Canada	To Anyone Booking a Toronto Medical	I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. It was pretty decent. I got a bit lost walking to the medical office in the morning though. I just took a wrong turn outside of the hotel. It should only be like, a 5-10 minute walk, provided you don't get lost (I am horrible at walking directions...even though I made it there fine the night before when I drove by to find out where it was!) Canada	To Anyone Booking a Toronto Medical	lol..I am no help, I got an awesome hotel rate near the airport...not the close airport either, using airmiles I couldn't get the airport near the clinic. So, 20 minute taxi ride here I come! I did however book a hotel close to the Consulate! Depending how long I am at the clinic I get to hang out in TO until my 10pm flight...the things we do for love! Canada	AOS'rs...	It seems like CSC is taking longer now than having an interview at your local USCIS office. Took just under 6 months for my AOS to get approved via the CSC office. Darn.... Did you get your EAD sooner? I would love to go to work soon.... I'm going a bit bonkers. Plus, we haven't bought a car for me yet and we live in a really really small town!!! Yeah...Biometrics FINALLY done!!!! Nothing like having to drive 3 hrs for a 15 min appointment tho!!! Since they say the office is sooooo backlogged I expected to see several people waiting , but there was only one other person in the office!!! They had a couple of issues getting a good print off a couple of my fingers (I have excema so have some patchy dry skin on my hands) but other than that it was smooth sailing.
