Okay, let's go over what I need for my medical:

- 3 passport photos [check]
- Immunization record [check]
- Documents describing current health condition and long term prognosis [check]
- Interview letter [check]
- $300 in cash [check :(]

Should I put my name and case number on the backs of my photos? (for the ones I submit at my interview as well?)

Am I missing anything?

I'm bringing my entire immigration document folder. It's heavy and filled right up, but I don't care. I'm coming over prepared. Just got a package of originals from my husband as well as a copy of his 2011 tax return (no time for him to get a transcript.) 10 days till my interview ahhhhhhhhh

Wow! Shell you are being prepared! When you go for medical let me know do you have to take the flu shot and Meningococcal(C/ACYW) vaccination? Do they give vaccine if you didnt get one.Plz let me know.

Are you going for your medical in Toronto? I'm going on Tuesday morning so I can write up a review when I get home after work that day :)

Make sure you get your immunization record before hand! I called Toronto public health and they mailed it out to me within a few days. I don't have my flu shot, and I don't think they'll make me get it (my GP didn't think they would as it is the end of flu season) but I do have my meningococcal.

Anyway, I'll write a review in the Canada forum and post a link to it here.

Medical next week. I've been super stressed :\ Monday I had a full melt-down while working (walking dogs.) Cried on and off for two hours while walking around the city. Needed to come out I guess. I've been so preoccupied with my massive to-do list I forgot to breathe. Feeling better now. One day at a time, folks, remember that

Looking into my flight options for June POE. As far as I can remember, it's better to get a return ticket right? As opposed to a one way.

Also, will it be an issue (or at least just look weird) that I'll be doing my POE a month and a half after my interview date? I have a perfectly good reason for it in case anyone asks at the border

At 10:20pm I just got an email that my AOS bill was generated... I logged on the payment center and paid the $88 and got the cover sheet. Should I wait until it shows "PAID" before I send out the AOS package?

Yes. Do things in their proper order to avoid any mishaps or misunderstandings

Here's the CSC site where you sign up: http://usvisa-info.c...country_welcome

There's no logistical reason why I waited until after the medical, it just happened that way. I definitely recommend waiting until after the interview date is assigned and the case has arrived in Montreal. Not sure if this is needed, but I wanted to make sure that Montreal had my case before signing up for DHL (now called Loomis). So, if you want, you can do it tonight, no problem. I have screenshots on my blog with detailed steps of what I did to sign up. Here's the post: http://journeythroug...-interview.html It might look/be different, but it should be the same concept.

And yup, it can be the same photo. That's exactly what I did. I took the same photo, used a site to crop it, and it printed exactly 5 pictures out on a 4x6 glossy picture paper. Used 3 for my medical and 2 for the interview :)

Yeah it's different from when you did it, but still pretty straight forward. There's no nice gentleman now to guide you along, you just click the tiny "log in" link up top, and then when you put in your passport info, etc you click "create an account" and go from there. Anyway, I'm all signed up. I also have my trip out to Montreal all booked. Going with my mom :) Flying in on the 8th, taking the train back on the 10th. Much shopping and poutine on the to-do list. Merci!

Saylin, do you have the URL on hand for the DHL website? I'm still a little unclear on this part of the pre-interview process. I took a look at your timeline, and you booked your DHL after you had your medical. Is there a logistical reason for that, or could I hypothetically go ahead and do it tonight? And can I just get 5 copies of the same American passport photo done to split up between my medical (asks for 3) and interview (should require 2) ... after all my looks don't change much within a week or so.

Just remembered I have a real question, haha.

For my interview, I'll have my husband's 2011 return (or hopefully transcript) in hand. Will they want to see an updated I-864EZ with his 2011 information, or just the original one with his 2010 information? I know they want the 2010 one for sure as we used that for the AOS we submitted, but just wondering if I should show up with something extra.

Thanks guys :)

Now my mind is reeling. Need to get original docs from my husband still. Need to schedule my medical. Need more passport photos. Need to decide on how/when to get to Montreal. Need to finish driving school. Need to give a months notice to my job and need to decide when to quit in the first place. Do I fly out to HI after getting my passport back, or after graduation? Aaaahhahaahaaaaaaaah

Our time will be soon! I have no doubt. I bet we find out our interviews by the end of the week :D

god I hope so. I have my g-mail tabbed open as it automatically updates when I get a new e-mail. I wonder if we'll get May spots. I have my graduation ceremony from school on June 18... it would be some bad luck to get my interview on the same day D:

The last thing I said to my husband before he went into customs at the airport was, "the next time I see you, I'm moving in." I laughed after and as I walked away. I tried my best not to look back at him, but I had to... just as he looked back at me. Brutal.

Whenever I flew back from seeing him, by the time I was at my gate he'd be texting me from the car saying being alone in it feels weird. And that coming back to an empty home and bed was even worse.

It's heart breaking at the time, but I've found over the years that it's just the recovery period which quickens. I miss him like crazy lately, because everything is so close yet so far

For my interview package, I know I need to bring a completed I-864. Is that the case even though I filed an I-864EZ? (As in, do I bring a completed 864 or 864EZ?) And does it need to be an original copy signed by my husband? Never thought about this till now....

Hoping to get my interview date this week

Tried that DHL tracking trick

I got my CC e-mail on the 20th. I set my dates to range from the 19th to the 23rd, and one package showed up going to Montreal (the other is going to Vancouver.)It was picked up on the 21st and delivered on the 22nd. Do they ship our files in bundles, or one at a time?

"Pieces: 1
Total Weight: 4.0 lbs"

There must be a few packages in there as one alone wouldn't weigh 4lbs.

I'm starting to think based on other VJ members' posts that the toughest part of all this process is going to be having to wait to get the "Interview Date"

I'm at that point right now. It isn't so bad, I know it will be assigned within the next week or so

I hope it doesn't take too long :\ I'm thinking I'll have a May interview... I don't want to show up without that transcript. Just in case, could I bring a print out of his entire return?

It adds more time because his paperwork needs to get sent to Hawaii, then he has to send them to me. When he requested his 2010 transcript it took like two weeks :(

I got an email from NVC a couple of hours ago informing me that I could pay may AOS. I was able to login to the payment portal and I paid the $88. I was then taken to the receipt page where one of the options is print document cover sheet. If I understand correctly I print out this cover sheet and submit it with the I-864 along with the required documentation. My question is do I have to wait for the payment to show complete or can I send off the documents now that I have the cover sheet?

Thanks in advance.

Send your package when it shows as "Paid." I don't know if this is a rule somewhere or not, but it just makes sense to do and it only takes a couple of days.

Horror junkie reporting. Saylin, watch the 1970's version of Black Christmas. It was filmed here in Toronto, and is one of the best horror movies of all time imo. Have your sleeping pills ready for bedtime :innocent:

The Green Butchers is from Denmark and is horror/comedy, along the lines of Shaun of the Dead. Hilarious and psychologically twisted. Perfect combo.
