Philippines	dental work	I will be leaving for the US next week and am currently having an artificial crown being put to my 2nd molar (for free though because my aunt's a dentist lol). Yes, it is important to work on dental problems now before going to the US because the procedures there are more expensive. It is a fact that the water in the US is fluoridated that's why people there have nicer teeth but at the end of the day it all depends on how we take care of our own teeth and genetic reasons that count. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	For copy of divorce certificate...	I'm applying to London Ontario Family Court for a copy of my divorce certificate. I was told on the phone to simply write a letter that includes details of the marriage including names, dates etc. which I've done. I was also told to include a cheque for $19 for the certificate. Does anyone know who I make the cheque payable to? Minister of Finance? Attorney General? Just trying to save myself another phone call. I checked online but can't find the info. Thanks. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	44 days ... till what?	The guides do tell you everything, but no you dont get a phone call. You do get a couple of letters though. 1. Thats your first NOA, it looks like everything is being sent to your lawyer. 2. Assuming you dont get an RFE, in about 44 days you will get another Notice of Action. This copy you need to keep. It will have your alien number on it. At that point its forwared to the NVC, an new case number is assigned to it. Then its forwarded to the embassy or consulate. The consulate will then contact either by mail, or email with packet 3 information. Each consulate does things its own way. You will recieve instructions or a checklist with packet 3. Got it. Thanks. I've never personally met or talked to our attorney, he is actually from CA and my fiance has been the one dealing with him. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	44 days ... till what?	Hi, Im a Canadian Citizen enaged to my wonderful American Fiance. We've applied for our fiance visa through an attorney and we sent all of our information to Vermont in May. Two questions now: 1. We got an e-mail from our attorney last week saying that the "recieved date" was May 21st and he gave us a "Reciept Number"... is this our first NOA or is this something else? 2. Also, on the "Processing Times" page, it says that currently "Filing to I-129 NOA2 in Vermont is 44 days" ... what will happen in 44 days? Will we get a call to set up my interview in Montreal or...? When we filed, the VSC processing time was at 44 days but now the VSC is at 63 days.... does this mean I need to aim for 63 days now or am I still good with 44 days (which is any day now) since that was my original processing time in May? You definitely learn to have a lot of patience with this visa process. =) There is a May filer thread on this forum where you can read about other May filers----63 days sounds like a dream compared to what some people are waiting. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	Please help me review my RFE package?	Have you drafted wills, medical powers of attorney, HIPAA releases, etc.?  If not, do so immediately and include them.  These are highly overlooked as evidence, but slam-dunk proof.  State-appropriate templates might be available on sites like nolo.com or legalzoom.com (I presume that they are), or an Internet search might reveal a template that you can retype.  Be sure that the documents are valid for your state of residence. (Moderator hat on) Unanswered duplicate thread removed. (Moderator hat off)   I had thought about those types of documents, but I've never dealt with them in my life so I thought they'd be a huge pain to get. When they're done online, are they as "serious" as if you had one done with a lawyer??   I was wondering why I was seeing two of these threads in my content... thanks! I don't think so if you guys are like roomates or something. if it has your name and your husband's it's good. -       Do I need EVERY bank statement available? I can go back 36 months. I think a solid 12 would be good. -       Is the amount of pay stubs I have enough? I just used them to establish that I was contributing to our shared account Anything is good. -       No utilities in both names not that important anyways. -       No car loan or anything in both names, I don?t have a car or state of CA license yet. this would have been a good evidence though. -       Should I include our marriage certificate just for a refresher on when we got married? No They know already when you got married they just need proof of good Faith. -       No pictures, no cards from family. No affidavits. Should I try to scrimp together some photos? YES since the only evidence you have is bank statements and lease also you should really try to get affidavits. -       My life is insured through the military. DH would receive that if I pass away, but I don?t have anything that shows that (to my knowledge.) There definitely is something somewhere with this official information that you signed, ask around. -       USPS haven?t updated my address yet, would like to provide their confirmation letter YES. -       USCIS got a copy of our shared credit card (shows same account numbers) with original ROC package, should I send that again? YES. Literally ANYTHING that has both your names on it. if you have little evidence, family pictures like you with his family or him with your family and Affidavits are worth gold. The service that has my husband's insurance information is undergoing maintenance right now, so we'll have to wait to get anything from there.  And yeah, I'll be calling USPS tomorrow to sort out my change of address issue. Glad to see VSC is starting to slowly pick up steam!   My 10 year GC arrived at my US address while I was away in Canada. My husband didn't end up FedExing it to me in Canada, so I had to cross with my expired one + extension letter + print out of the e-mail notifications about my new card (production, delivery).   Didn't even need to pull my extension letter out! If you are a little nervous about the extension letter, get an infopass and go to the nearest office to have your passport stamp. Just let them know you misplaced your extension letter. Many people feel comfortable with the notification in their passport then a letter on a piece of paper. It is just my two cents but the truth is, you are also good with the extension letter. I think i have read on VJ from one or two persons that they got delayed and questioned at the airport on their way back. Thanks    Well, I'm hoping my new card arrives while I'm gone so that my husband can FedEx it to me at my parent's place in Canada. Haven't sent my RFE package in yet, will be this week though.    I'm going to be traveling back home at the end of August ... do you think they'll give me issues coming back into the US with my GC + one year extension letter? This is assuming by some miracle that my case gets approved and I get a new card by the 26th, haha.   If I explain that I got an RFE and I'm waiting for approval still, will they even understand?   Also, do you get any sort of NOA when they receive an RFE package? Gervl, good luck with your RFE!    I received a letter confirming the address change and the website was updated but no RFE yet.    The only thing that comes to mind is sending as many months worth of the same evidence you have already provided showing a trail of you guys having the same address.    We provided 24 months worth of bank statements (just the first page with the address), any bills showing our different addresses over the years, email confirmation from USPS showing confirmation of address forwarding service for both of us, letter from work showing each other as emergency contacts.    I am hoping I sent enough at the beginning so that a new RFE is not needed.... fingers crossed (for both of us!!).    Thank you!   My RFE packet is about an inch thick at this point, haha. I just got an RFE in the mail.    I moved from Hawaii to San Diego on June 15, and had a friend collecting my mail until we had a place. We have our place now, and I just received the RFE with that. It's dated June 23. On June 16, I changed my mailing address to my friend's place with USCIS (as they do not forward mail.)   They're looking for "Evidence of Good Faith in Marriage": "Little to no evidence if joint ownership of assets and joint responsibility for liabilities has been received and little to no evidence of a communal residence has been received."   I sent them bank checks with both of our names and our HI address, they got a copy of our HI lease with my I-130, I sent our most recent phone bill with both our phone numbers listed on it, refund checks with our names + address from the IRS, copies of our joint credit cards, screenshots of our bank account from online, pictures and cards from family from our I-130 date onward... lots of good stuff.    So I don't know if this is because of the move or not, but it's a huge pain in the ###.   I'm planning on getting a hard copy of our lease, a hard copy letter from our property manager showing that we both live here, my husband's orders showing his move with a dependent to San Diego, my military ID, and our tax transcripts.    Anything else anyone can think of? I don't have a car, so no paperwork on that. They have his life insurance showing me from our I-130.    I have until September 15 to get this all in. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	i-751 March 2014 Filers UNITE !	Got my NOA in the mail today  Receipt date: 3/28. Status extended, $590 paid, etc.   So now I'm just waiting on a letter for my biometrics appointment?   What's the story with the note in the middle saying that "conditional residents" will not get a letter for their appointment?
