I am confused. When it says 'based on your time line may be adjunctated by so and so date"

is 'adjuncated' this POE or when we get NOA2?

Does anyone have a clear list of how this works? I feel like the more questions I ask the more confused I get. And my lawyer doesn't help.

Its means you should be receiving your NOA2. Chick the Guides at the top of your screen and look at the K-1 flowchart for an overview of the whole process.

Just teasing you!

But, having said that - I am sure that you are aware that no one wants to be "out of the way" more than we do. It's stressful enough without the negativity......know what I'm saying? Now, here's a nice good-bye ((hug)) and off you go to motivate the February filers and your fellow April filers!

Thank you for your kind words, you're such a nice Southern Lady... devil.gif

Awwww....and I was just now feeling guilty and getting ready to send you an apology and explain that the stress is getting to me. Actually, I am pretty nice and my biggest problem is I "shoot from the lip" a lot. Sorry, sorry, sorry. You are waiting just like the rest of us - I just never thought about going and telling the January group to get their asses in gear and get it moving! Hmmm......I wonder if it would work?

LOL, I told the February group that "Since February wasn't a 'REAL' month, that we should just skip them entirely" smile.gif

She did tear me a new one when I posted it a month or so ago! Why have you been SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO quiet?

I figure I'm going to be spending a lot of time here closer to the time I will be expecting my approval.....don't wanna wear out my welcome too quickly! LOL

Then I was just hoping if I ignored it....then it would go faster....

Hi all smile.gif

Im so excited to have found this posting for all the March 2009 filers, so now we can all share our experiences. I definitely feel that all I can think about everyday is this K1 visa...

I was wondering if anyone who filed in March received a NOA2 yet? According to the timeline on this site, those of us who filed at the California Service Center should be receiving them around the next of couple weeks. Our I-129F packet was received March 16, and I received in the NOA shortly afterwards stating it was received on the 16.

From looking ahead to the I-134 Affidavit of Support form, what should you do if you are still enrolled as an undergraduate student and are not working. I am actually studying abroad in Italy (for the 2008-2009 school year), and have gotten an extension to remain in Italy as a student until the start of winter quarter (Jan 2010), just so I can be with my fiance. Both of my parents are fine with the idea, and I plan on having my mom be a co-sponsor, since I dont currently work. Does anyone know if our visa will be rejected on the basis that I do not yet work (since Im still finishing up school), BUT my mom's income fulfills the 125% income level? This is one of the most pressing concerns I have about our petition. I mean I'm going to get my B.A. from the University of California Santa Barbara in June 2010, so it's not probable that I'm going to end up working in a fast-food chain. Do you think the US Consulate Officers in Italy will take that into account?

I know our story is a bit different. We met August 29, 2008, and two months later we moved into an apartment together, just the two of us, since we spent every single night at each other's apartments anyways. I even sent in our lease as proof of having met in person, but I didn't get it translated into English though. sad.gif Then in January after we visited his mom and step-dad, he surprised me by taking me to the jewelry shop and told me to pick a ring, and that's how he popped the question smile.gif

Anyways, we are planning on changing apartments in September from the one listed on the I-129F. Does anyone have an idea of what we should do to let USCIS know our current address? I'm hoping that we get the go ahead from the NOA2 before we change apartments.

Also, my fiance is eligible to become an Italian citizen and thus travel to the US on the Visa Waiver Program, since his mom married an Italian and she was sworn in as a citizen 10 years ago. Does anyone know how long it takes from the date of request to receiving Italian citizenship? It's frustrating that after 5 years of living in Italy, he never got around to asking for citizenship, since with his current passport from the Dominican Republic, he can't enter the US without a visa... Also, does anyone know how he could get the Certificado de No Antecendentes Judiciales without traveling to the DR? He lived there until he was 17yrs old before coming to Italy, so I believe it will be needed...

I hope I didn't write or ask too much, and that I made some sense. It's just relieving to be posting in a place where everyone else knows exactly what you are going through... Good luck to all of us and I look forward to reading any responses smile.gif

Everyone on this one filed in Vermont but there is a special thread just for California filers here.........

http://www.visajourn...howtopic=182591

Since processing times are different for each you'll get better answers over there smile.gif

What is I-484? I am going off the chart on the visa journey page and it says all you need for noa2 is:

1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).
2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.
3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).
4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.
5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.
6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.
7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

SO WHAT ARE THESE OTHER FORMS PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUt? Im sooooo afraid I'm going to mess something up.

You have to fill out an I-484 for each. IF he is under 14 then it is $600 if not then its full price $1010.

The I-484 form is actually I-485...my bad.....anyways its filed AFTER the couple are marriedand living in the US to adjust status. So no...its not needed for the NOA2...it comes way after that.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsK1 visa stamp proof of meeting!
QUOTE (season @ Aug 31 2009, 11:14 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi there. this is my first post here. I wish to collect some opinions from you all. So, we have sent out the K1 visa application back in the first week of July. We provided everything( we thought we did) and even had the lawyer reviewed all our documents. Then today, I was browsing through the posts here and realise that we need to have a copy of passport stamp to prove the actual 'meeting' for the passed two years. Well, I stayed in US under J1 and F1 visa before, that's how I met my bf but we didn't include the passport stamps. We just included our photos as the proof of relationship.

So, I am in trouble now? can I just send the passport stamps or the copies of my passport to the CSC right now? Is it possible to do that? or will need to wait until we get the RFE or whatever notice? I don't keep any air ticket coz I flew too many times for the passing two years, everything went into trash can.

Can I just send in more documents right now? I am really worry about the delaying of the whole process.

please advise. thanks.

Not everyone can include passport stamps. I'm from Canada and they don't stamp our passports when we visit they just look at it. Pictures may be enough evidence but there is nothing you can do about it now...you'll just have to wait and see. If you do get an RFE it doesn't delay the process that much because they just keep your file on hand and when they receive your reply then they reopen your case and continue. Some people have had their NOA2's 10 days after getting an RFE.

LiLMermaidFemaleCanada2009-08-31 10:19:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhatttt the fuuuu CSC?!

I don't understand the long wait tho... I mean how hard is it to do a background check and check for all the requirements that they ask for??? What's the huge hold up?? That shouldn't take anywhere close to half a year...

Heaven only knows how many people are applying for the same petitions you and I are. Patience is valuable. Stop obsessing and bide your time with something else. I check my status maybe once a week. It will happen eventually. No amount of agonizing will change a thing.

(This doesn't just apply to K-1 alone, but to everyone)

Every time you hear about a Stokes Interview, sexual questions are asked. This isn't something new or unusual. This is a tool they use and that couples are subject to. One of the biggest lessons you learn about immigration is that it is not a right, it is a privilege. Intending immigrants are at the hands of the government, so you just have to deal with it.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMarriage without full-blow wedding
My husband and I did the courthouse wedding as well. We have pictures of us in the tacky wedding arbour, and from throughout the ceremony (putting on rings, etc). My mom came for the day, so she was taking photos, and the official also took a photo of 3 of us together. We're having our reception in the next couple of months when he's here: pictures with both sides of my family, more with friends, etc.

You just have to be creative, "What shows that we have a real relationship?" like others have said, e-mails, phone records, etc are just the start of what you can use.

To clarify, my USC can use EITHER his entire, photocopied passport or long form birth certificate?

I ask because I know he doesn't have his full form birth certificate so using his passport would be more convenient. I-130 instructions from what I'm looking at don't specify BC type, but I'm assuming the worst here

And I, the petitioner, need a copy of my long-form birth certificate. **Edit: just remembered I don't need this, but it can't hurt to have on hand. Welp.

My husband (the USC/Petitioner) will be filing my I-130 (For CR-1) while I'm with him for a summer visit in Hawaii.

If he answers that I'm a visitor in the U.S. at the time of filing, how am I supposed to give them my I-94 information? I've filled out a million of them so I know what they are, it's just that I'm NOT planning on Adjustment of Status or anything (i.e. we won't be providing I-485 with my I-130) so I wouldn't have any record of my I-94 on me. I will be leaving to go back to Canada after a 10 week visit.

I was told on here some time ago that it wouldn't be a problem for me to submit paperwork while in the States :(

I'm Canadian with an American husband/petitioner.

We got our marriage certificate in FL, and I came back to Canada once my vacation was up. I wanted ALL my documents to be in my married name before we started applying. I changed over my passport and driver's license first then other smaller IDs after.

This just makes more sense to me, and it doesn't take long.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDS-230 Question
I've made about 9 total visits to the U.S. in the last ~10 years.

I don't remember the dates of my first trip, when I went to Michigan. There was also a trip long before that (I was under 10 I think - over 10 years ago) which I don't really remember at all; all I know is that I went with my aunt and uncle.

So, all my past 6 trips to see my husband (petitioner), my trip to L.A. in 2008, and an evening trip to Buffalo (also 2008) I have all the information for. Will the other two trips (mentioned above) need to be listed? Or is there an example form that would show how I can list all my visits plus a brief explanation of those two visits?

Also! I'm Canadian, and two of my trips to see my husband I got a B2 stamp. Would I list that under "Type of Visa"? I can supply original photocopies to back it up need be. And I obviously had no A# so that's that.

Thanks :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUsing military I.D. as proof of relationship

I don't personally think the military ID is any sort of proof at all except proof that you're married.. which your marriage certificate shows. I know a few people who have married each other (military personnel) simply for medical benefits of a spouse an also because when deployed you get more money when married.

The stuff that matters are things proving you do things together (like travel), that you live together (drivers licences with the same address), that you're spending money on each other (health insurance, gym memberships etc), that you trust each other financially (joint bank accounts, bills in joint names, married filing jointly tax returns), that you trust each other (wills and powers of attorneys stating each other as beneficiary) and that you're melding lives (buying a house together, joint car insurance etc)... things like that.

To be honest I think you need to collect more evidence. I wrote in your quote box above. You need to think like a CO. They don't KNOW that you went to the movies together unless you show proof.. not "could have been there together" but "irrefutable, no doubt about it" proof. You need to show more "co-mingling" stuff. Bills in joint names, your name on the lease/deed (or affidavit for landlord or something), joint bank account info, Wills (most military personnel have Wills done on base), Powers of Attorney, name on car insurance/title, affidavits from family/friends.

I don't know enough about the Cr-1 to know what to send now versus what to take to the interview but just giving you some ideas of stuff to collect.

We don't share any finances currently, so that's out the window. No deeds for either of us, not on his car insurance (I don't drive yet) etc. He JUST moved to Hawaii and is still living in barracks and getting into a house this month where he won't be paying any rent/mortgage/utilities, and I have no idea whose names go on the paperwork. Also "honeymoon" because we just went to a resort for one night the day of our wedding in the same city we got married in - not exactly the typical get away. And I'm Canadian so my tax return shows only as "married". He jumbled up his tax return and needs to file an amendment so his is out of the question :bonk: Oh, and we've never flown together so I have separate sets of boarding passes for both of us.

So yeah I guess I'll trim that list down and start going through MSN conversations and e-mails.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUsing military I.D. as proof of relationship
Just had a light bulb moment and realized that my military ID (showing my husband/petitioner's name, SSN, etc) could be used to back up our application. The thing is that it expires in July (valid for 3 months at a time since I don't have a SSN yet) and we'll be filing in June.

If USCIS has issues with that expiration date, would it be worth using at all in my package? We'll be renewing it in July, and one more time after that (you can only renew it 3 times).

Would it be an issue if the I.D. was valid when filed but later becomes expired? If they don't mind the expiration, do you think this is a higher quality of evidence then say my wedding ring receipt? We were super cheap about our rings, so the cost isn't very impressive

So far for other supporting evidence, I have the options of using:
- His life insurance and health plan with my name on it
- Boarding passes
- Resort bill from our "honeymoon"
- About 10 photos (or less depending on what else I include)
- Possibly MSN transcripts: so many to go through I don't think it would even be worth my time if everything else has more weight
- 2 or 3 handwritten cards from my family congratulating us on our marriage
- 3 passport stamps including one B2
- Movie ticket stubs
- E-mails dating back to 2007 to the present
- My 2010 income tax return showing his name and income
- Tickets from Busch Gardens showing we both used our military I.D.s for free admission

So would it be better to use fewer more "important" things instead of throwing in everything I have? i.e. just using his life/health insurance, my military ID, some key photos, boarding passes etc.

Sorry for the rambling post, my mind is going at a million miles an hour haha. Thanks for any input though.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-130 assembly - logistics question
Weird question, haha. I put in a picture of my husband and I with a friend at a halloween party. Problem is I'm holding a ridiculous sized "adult beverage" in my hand. I was legal drinking age at the time, but do you think USCIS really needs to see that? lol

Edit: I'm thinking no, because on top of the massive drink we all look obviously intoxicated. Answered my own question lol

That's pretty much what I did. Two photos per page on a Word document, captions above each briefly explaining the what/when/where. You don't need to go too crazy on the photos (I had a total of 6 pages, 12 photos). Try to pick some from different periods of time (to show the span of your relationship), different occasions, and a couple with family/friends.

It seems like the most straight forward thing to do. I was thinking of doing 12 photos as well, we have tons to choose from so I'm not lacking haha. Going to order them chronologically as well. Might as well get started on it

How did you guys add your photos (for evidence, not passport ones) in?

I'd assume colour photos would be better off, so did you print them off say from Microsoft Word, 2 per page, vertically, with brief descriptive captions (i.e. date, occasion, who's in the photo) typed underneath?

My head is spinning at the cost of ink is all.

Booked my flight to Hawaii just now, filing in about two weeks  trying to work out the little details now :)
