CanadaAnother question (about mail)

The package should be about 11 pages thick, it arrived in a 8.5x11 envelope. there is no need for the post office to not deliver it to your address as it will fit in your mail box easily. The consulate does at time tell you stories such as it is in the mail when in fact it is sitting in their mailroom. Call them and make sure they have the right address. It took two attempts in December to get mine to me the third attempt was in January and it was the successful one, I'm assuming that the first two were just vocal attempts to keep me happy and not factual in the envelope attempts.

Ron

You're the first person that I thought about when I read this post .....

CanadaDr. Seidens medical tomorrow
Hi all .. I have my medical appointment at Dr. Seidens on Front St. E tomorrow morning and I'm coming from Hamilton.

They told me to be there between 7 and 8. If you get there earlier .. do you see the Doctor sooner? A mapquest says it takes 45 minutes from where I am .. does anyone commute that early so that I have an idea how much extra time I'll have to add for congestion?

Your replys would be greatly appreciated :)

Lynette

CanadaMore questions... passport photos
What's irritating is that Montreal put in the paperwork for package 3 that you will require 5 passport style photos ... three would be required for the medical and 2 for your interview with the specifications of 2x2 and the eye level being 28mm to 35mm from the bottom of the picture.

I went in and had them done ... 3 sets for me and 3 sets for my son costing $68 and change at Shoppers stressing the whole while because regular passport pics are 50mm x 70 mm not 50mm x 50 mm ... I measured and cut them myself while I was at Shoppers.

When I went to my medical this morning she told me that she only needed one for each of us and she took scissors and cut them by hand .. no measurements and glued them to the paperwork.

Hope that's helpful.

CanadaDr Weiner Ottawa
I'm going for my medical this week in Toronto at Dr. Seidens ... does anyone know if they will take blood from my 8 year old?? ... I'm assuming so ... he just likes to be prepared for these kind of things. Thanks for the info on the eyeglasses .. I use a pair for night driving so I don't readily think about them. I'll bring them just in case.

CanadaMy wife's interview on April 5, 2007 in Mtl
What a horror story!! It makes me so mad!!!! ... These people that are dealing with peoples whole lives should really get some person to person training ... our governments spend enough money .. you'ld think that they could invest some in training people properly .... a little hard on the issue and gentle on the person kinda training... my heart really goes out to you and your wife ...

Hey .. I had wondered what my results to my tests were .. they had told me that I wouldn't have received the package if I did not have a clean bill of health .. that eased my mind (plus .. you get to actually look at the chest exray :))

CanadaMedical fees
Just an update ..I submitted my receipt from Dr. Seidens to Sunlife and they are not paying a dime .... the online claim denial states that they need original receipts (I sent them the receipt that was given to me) ... I'm thinking that they need a breakdown of xray, blood work ect. I've contacted Dr. Seidens and have left a message to see if they can provide me with a more detailed receipt.

Canadaimmunization records, what is required?
I went to my Doctors and she just gave me all of the shots again instead of getting the titres done(MMR and tetanus). They are free under our health care system so I would suggest that you get them done now instead of waiting until later. She filled in the yellow immunization record and I was good to go when it came to the medical. Influenza is only required for 50+.

My fiance and I have discussed looking into opening a franchise in Cleveland, Ohio. My whole family has worked for Tim's at one point or another (my aunt used to own three stores in Hamilton). I just really wonder if it would be as successful there without the Canadian addicts!!!!

CanadaWill Montreal care ..
I know that I shouldn't make any plans without the final approval  ... I'm just counting on the stars falling into place when they should as this is my head in the clouds optimistic nature (you'ld think that I would know better by now :)) like so many here on VJ have done. If it doesn't work out as planned and there are a few months delay I suppose that I can always rent a place or stay at my sisters and save some $. My employer will keep me as long as it takes and has been more than understanding as I have kept them informed every step of the way which is amazing (I'll be working for them still once I'm in the States in another position) ... the only thing that would be really upsetting is my son not being able to start at the beginning of the new school year in the States which I really want to happen. Its hard enough being the new kid in the school let alone starting into the school year.
lynamonFemaleCanada2007-04-26 11:36:00
CanadaWill Montreal care ..
My Landlord is selling the house that I'm renting and he's telling people that it will be available at the end of June (I had told him that that was when I intended to leave) ... he requests 60 days notice and I told him that my interview could be for June or July so I told him to accept my 60 days as of May 1st.

I don't want to be obligated to pay for another full month if my interview ends up being in the first part of June ... worst case scenario I guess would be to put my stuff in storage and live with my sister if the interview isn't until July. ... I could kinda handle that ... any further than mid July would make me lose my mind (I love my sister to death but living together with our children should only be a short time arrangement:))
