Africa: Sub-Saharangoing to pursue CR-1, live with him abroad (not in his home country). how will this affect the visa process
My parents lived in SA for the last 11 years and I visited 5 times; 2 of which on extended stay for 90 days or more.

You will be able to obtain a 90 day entry in to SA. It is not a visa it is an Exemption and the idea is you intend to stay 90 days or less. Then you MUST leave the country. But you can often just cross the broader for a week and then go back on another 90 day visa.

They usually ask to see proof of support ie your bank account and will absolutely expect to see a return ticket.

And on a second return closely on the heels of the first there is more scrutiny.

Me neither. I'll keep searching for the forum and maybe you can ask the poster more about why and how they did theirs.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionUsing savings to make up the difference for the I-134
We were advised that savings would not account, despite the fact we have 2 times the 125%. Nor would the fact John owns property.

We haven't been able to find an explaination for why. But I know on one of the other forums, (sorry unable to locate it at present) a couple was able to use the both the USC's income as well as the potential earnings of the SO based on the SO's current employment.

So whilst we are fortunate enough to have a co-sponsor we can also supplied evidence of my current income to help support our application.

Hey Gordon

I'm not sure what to say but wanted to let you know USE London has stuffed up my pack 3 as well. I didn't even know about the DS-230, info wasn't included.

My educated guess (read assumption) is someone has stuffed the envelop incorrectly. Check over the copy of you oringinal app and make sure there was no indicators about your additional kids. (lol)

If no issue on your side, fill in details and add cover sheet re-confirming you have no kids who need to be included.

US Citizenship General DiscussionUSCIS update on processing times
Hi everyone, there has been lots of talk all over the web, not just VJ and a couple have even spent the time to get through to a real life person at the USCIS, from the four reports I've read the timelines may not actually be accurate.

It is all due to a problem with the computer systems. Which is why the update didn't come out when it was suppose to. Apparently CRIS is affected too.

I know that John and I have been coming unglued so we have decided not to look anymore, its just too hard to believe we are going backwards.

When I was in college in Western New York, we would frequently go to Canada b/c of the drinking age etc. I would always have my passport and say I was Australian but all but twice they didn't even care. OK so it was pre Sept 11 but still. Now when I enter the country I'm sure I am as nervous as a smuggler even though I'm not smuggling anything!!!

Okay for those of you who don't know me I am based in Edinburgh at the moment, and I did a particularly geeky thing and walked a lot of the routes listed in Dragonfly in Amber yesterday, the weather was fab and it was thoroughly enjoyable to imagine the being in a place the story took place. I've just finished Cross Stitch, but now I've got to figure out which is the next book in the series. What a pain. You'd think they'd list it on the inside cover or on the jacket somewhere.

Its actually bloody hard to figure out, but the next one recommended is Dragonfly in Amber and then Voyager.

USCIS Service CentersWhat should I do if Form I-94 form is still in my passport when I return
QUOTE (chiqui_78 @ Jun 25 2008, 09:05 PM) What should I do if Form I-94 form is still in my passport when I return
to Colombia from the United States?

My brother forgot it!!!. He lives in Colombia. What should he do???????????

Thanks!!
I just did a quick google

http://www.path2usa....nfo/i94card.htm
http://www.laborlawt...hp/t-56842.html
http://www.***remove...orm-to-cbp.html

What should I do if I did not turn in my I-94 (Arrival / Departure Record) when I left the U.S.?

It is common and happened in many cases that I94 is not taken out by the airline checking counter at the airport while leaving the USA. You should always check whether airline checking person should take your I94, if not ask him/her to take it.
If for some reason you find that later once you already exit the USA and you send the the original I-94 to the following address:

ACS - USCIS, SBU
P.O Box 7125
London KY 40742-7125
USA

http://www.usembassy...hs/cbp/i94.html

You must include with proof of departure. Suggested proof includes the arrival stamp in one's passport and the boarding pass from the flight. Always keep the copies of any documents submitted. The authorities warns that, without proof of the departure, there is no guarantee that the information will be entered into their system. This is logical, since otherwise, people could send the documentation and claim departure on a different date.

Check official wordings from CBP website on this Question.

As I was going over to the USCIS website to check and see if there might have been any touches to my cases, I saw something that caught my eye and I went to read it and I am glad I did. It answers a lot of questions I have been seeing people ask all over the forums lately. It talks about everything from the posted processing times being based on calculations, about how they hired new people, about how there are less files this year than last and they are expecting to have completed a bunch more than they had last year by the end of the fiscal calendar which is Sept 30. I really found it interesting and hope you do too... here is the link:

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Having a pity party AP-ers but also have some real questions.
Now looking at the time lines of all here I have to apologise. But at the same time I am so down. If only they hadn't said approved pending the police certificate, it would still have been tough, but we wouldn't have booked plane tickets or packed everything up, or booked a ceremony, long since past, now however at this very moment I am really worried.

The USE London said 2 weeks, its been over 3 already and that doesn't include the time prior to that. For my interview was Feb 13.

They currently have my passport has any one advice as to how long they will keep it before sending it back?

The reason I ask is I don't currently have a job, and I need to get one if this goes on much longer. Cause I am an Aussie living in the UK I need my passport to prove my validity to work.

If I request it back will it delay the process? Is there any possibility it will help? Do they ever forget, or does your case get lost?

Any suggestions I'm drowning at the moment and as result pulling John with me.

Thanks for your support DairyFarmer...the most frustrating part of this whole thing is that we don't know the reason for the delay. DOS keeps telling us that the visa is not in Admin processing, not in security checks, not in Admin Review. We even emailed the US Embassy in London asking about what the reason for the delay is. But we emailed them on Monday and today is Friday and we still have not gotten a reply yet. We don't know where to move on from here regarding finding out why the reason for the delay.

We got our Congressman to ask the question after 5 weeks as to what the delay was and pow he was given a same day response and my visa was issued. It maybe worth a try, you can submit the request through the congress website. Ours got back to us the day after the request was submitted.

I know what you mean about planning, once I received the Aust police cert and sent it and my passport off we started planning, John went and organised our marriage licence and a wedding date at the courthouse, I packed everything ready for shipping, started saying goodbye to people, booked a train ticket to London, a hotel in London and a flight home. We are planning a big wedding in Sept so John even booked a time to go see the reception location.

But of course it wasn't to be. I feel worse than I think I would have if they hadn't said Congratulations pending the supply of your Australian Police certificate you are approved. Welcome to America. I do as requested send it in (there was NOT EVEN a blemish on my certificate) and then they put me into AP.

The train is the quickest way to get from Gatwick - Heathrow or vice versa DairyFarmer. Talking the bus or a taxi all depends on the traffic flow.
