Does anybody know if there's a good thread on the board about taking personal belongings with you when you move permanently to the US? What the cheapest way is to ship your stuff? Which the cheapest company is? Thanks!

There are heaps of them. This one is from the UK but might give you some starting points.

Hello everyone. She's still in a lot of pain Ana. She got admitted to hospital 2 days ago as the pain has spread to her neck, arm and leg. She's had 2 MRI scans and a CAT scan to find out where the pain is coming from.

She's seeing a neurologist this morning, so hopefully find out more today.

Thanks for everyone else asking for her.

I'll keep her in my prayers.

Wow thanks dairyfarmer for looking me up on the list....i am the straggler in the group looks like...lol Oh well, I am not prepared for the stress of part two (NOA2) anyway...I am still recovering from the 1st step....although at the same time I want this to hurry.

So your from Australia dairyfarmer? I am in Arizona...very warm and monsoons-gorgeous!

I know what you mean about the stress. I just started looking up the AOS stuff and am feeling overwhelmed.

And yes I'm from Australia (Melbourne actually) but I'm based in Edinburgh, Scotland at the moment. Going to start commuting to Coventry as of next week.

It's the annual agriculture show north of Inverness. It's very big up here. I haven't been to It for the last few years, so looking forward to It.

You should go to Loch Ness, amazing place. I took Lara there last year. She totally loves Scotland.

I really love Edinburgh so far. Have only really be as far north as Kenmore / Perth, West to Drymen went to St Andrews a few weeks ago. Mostly all around Edinburgh Otherwise.

So I have a lot of exploring to do still. WHat else would you reccomend?

Not too bad. Hoping there might be some sun this weekend :read praying: Hows about yourself?

Sun lol. We had some of that yesterday, looked promising until it pi$hed rain. Not too much today, got some errands to run later. Tomorrow I will take the bairns to the county show. Just hope the weather holds up. The north of Scotland is unpredictable weather wise.

Its felt like winter in Melbourne to me just a bit warmer. I really thought being up north (here in Edinburgh) the weather might be better than in London.

What county show? I went to Dunfermline last weekend and considering going to Loch Ness via Inverness this weekend.

We went down from mid-August to early September now. It might be because more filers before you were "found" (filled in their timelines"). Another reason is in small amount of approvals coming through in the last two weeks or so. I wouldn't give up hope though. I do hope to be in the US with my darling in October. That might be true, but I think for them they need no emotion. Just get through the next big pile o applications. I think those who are in charge of budgeting to run the offices is more responsible.

To be honest I think the time it takes is deliberate. Part of the plan to weed out people who don't have bone a fide relationship.

Funny the name of my boyfriend is Jonathan but I call him john!
John and I have being arguing for two days now, and its really sad! What I tried to tell him yesterday was that the main reason that we are arguing this much, is because of the distance between us!
I think that having a relationship (like most of us here) , based on phone calls, msn, skype etc… can make u so frustrated sometimes, because really when you see your love on the other side of the computer sad and lonely, you just wish that you could feel your love in your arms instead of just seating on the other side of the world!

Exactly!!! We have found there is often an issue which needs to be resolved, but it would never have blown out of proportion the way it has if we were together. Being able to read eachothers body language and see eachother.

And what is the worst is we make up, but don't get the makeup............

My John is just a John. But my sister has just got engaged to a Jonathon, thank goodness his nickname is Jona.

Just got home, after spending 10 hours at the hospital with my brother and he’s girlfriend, waiting for a baby that doesn’t want to come out! I’m exhausted and traumatized !
So happy to see the april filers getting approved , but the timelines are just awful !

Its morning here now 10:50am. I'm surviving, John and I had a bad couple of weeks. Its just so hard being apart. I've been watching the lists and we are about to break 250 if there are 2 more approvals this week.

Work is boring I have nothing to do and that just gives me time to think. Not the best, but I'm fueled by caffiene, bacon and an adrenalin rush from a gym workout.

DairyFarmer How do you do it? I mean how do you figure out the times so precisely? I am so bad with it. The only thing that helps me right now is the fact that my laptop time is set to match Orlando smile.gif. When I was in the States I honestly tried to figure out the time difference to call my mom during decent hours and still her phone was ringing at the break of day smile.gif. And I'm supposevely really good with math too smile.gif

Alex I want to see SEX and the CITY so badly... But they are showing shortened version and in stupid stupid Ukrainian translation. They just recenlty passed the law that all movie theatres have to show only Ukr. translation as opposed to previously used Russian. Thus it is very hastily done and uses many weird words that can really spoil the impression from the movie. crying.gif So I have to wait!!! And really can't, I love Carrie and the gang so mucho smile.gif. Already made Dave promise to buy me a DVD once it comes out smile.gif.

AS to the shoes, am already stocking up for my move to the US - recently bought three pairs smile.gif I just can't find gorgeous and affordable shoes in the States. I mean, I wish I could afford those Jimmy Choos or Manolos smile.gif Hm, maybe one day when I get rich and famous smile.gif

Ok, my dear VJ friends thanks for distracting me from work for a moment here smile.gif Back to writing I go smile.gif

I used to try to keep it straight but now have personalised my igoogle homepage. If in doubt go to google and ask the time. ie What time is it in Boston, mass, US and immediately you get an answer. But I have my igoogle homepage set for weather and time in all places.

As for shoes have you checked out Target.com, I swear gorgeous and affordable. (And you can buy on-line) Throw in Walmart (not kidding) and you find little gems which are the 'current fashion' at a fraction of the price so you can wear them to death.

But oh for some Choos, Manolo's, Marc Jacobs, or my current fav Christian Louboutin. :lust:

check this out. http://www.zimbio.co...Louboutin Shoes
