we did use money in order , and my fiance told me thier is no way to check if cashed or not

Ok, hate to be the one to tell you...

Your fiancee is either very ignorant or she is lying to you. Possibly both, which if she is going to lie, she should inform herself first.

It is absolutely possible to verify if a money order has been cashed. People would not use them if it wasn't. It is not as easy as with a personal check, but it can be done with no problem. usually by phone and I am sure by internet now.

USCIS does NOT send letters for improper payments, they return the whoile package WITH the improper payment and tell you to correct the problem and resend it.

dont mean to hijack the thread, but any ideas on how to check western union MO? coz me and my hubby sent an m.o. for our aos since he doesnt have a checkbook.. and after reading this thread, it got me worried there i mean it is just a whooping $1010 m.o

not necessarily, we didn't make duplicates of ours when we filed but we never sent originals so if you have the originals, you can just make another copy in case they need more copies :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPetitioner Traveling During K-1 Processing?
oh, you guys can see each other as much as you'd like while the process is ongoing :) it's actually better i think that you, the petitioner, keep seeing ur fiance lol proves more that it's a genuine, ongoing relationship. It's just you that's travelling ur fiance anyway and not him flying to the US while the k-1 is processing. :)

your plane ticket stubs, all those stuff when your travelling, you can gather those for him when he goes in for the interview, he can keep them and show them for proof of the meetings and all that :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTraveling on Tourist Visa
The philippines is very strict regarding tourist visas, females are likely to be denied because the immigration had seen a trend polly back then that people use tourist visas to get in the US and get married and stay in the US instead of leaving after the tourist visa is no longer valid..
Anyway, she won't be approved of a tourist visa while another visa is being processed. There can only be one so just wait for the K-1. The philippines is unfortunately not part of the visa waiver program. Filipinos need tourist visas to enter the US, other countries can travel to the US without it under the visa waiver program provided it is a less-than 90 day stay :)

So just wait for the K-1 visa to be approved :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresinterview in 2 days, need help whats the right thing todo
just let them know about the civil wedding :) if they ask why the long wait, well let them know your reasons, let them understand that it's real and all.. in the Phiippines, I noticed that as long as you have evidence of financial support, ongoing relationship, and they can see your inlove you guys won't get denied :) when I had my interview, there was only one girl who was denied who i knew of, well first coz the age diff was huge! she was 19, the guy was 50 something, and her answers to the consulate didn't really correlate to her supporting documents.

As long as there's consistency during the interview, you guys will be alright :) the previous post was right, a yes no is better than storytelling everything coz then they'll have a reason to askk too much questions lol plus the interview is mostly very quick

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhen to file I-29F
do the paperwork ASAP , the sooner you get all that done, the sooner you guys could be married, and him living in the US legally as long as he wants lol
K-1 visas take about 3-6 months to get approved. It would only be in the later days, after you receive the notice of approval for the I-129f(k-1 visa petition) that he'll do medical and then the interview.
WHen you send in all the documents at the start, it takes time for the service centers to approve the I-129f, you will receive a NOA1 -saying they received the application, during that time, if they need more documents, they send an RFE(request for evidence), if not, the only paper you'll receiver after the NOA1 is the NOA2, after that they will let you know thru mail they sent it to the NVC, then the NVC will send the documents to his country, at the US embassy there. After that, the embassy sends him a letter letting him know they have the paperwork and that he will have to do a medical exam, usually 2 weeks before the interview at the US embassy. The interview date will be set by him or the embassy, depends on the embassy but that will be mentioned in the letter from the embassy. So the only time he needs to be present at the US embassy in his home country, is when he does the medical and his interview :)

hope that helps ^_^

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat to do first?
so since you don't want a fiance visa, you don't need to do the K-1 route then.
You may wanna look in the K-3, that's for spousal visas. If you wanna get married before having ur fiancee over to the US, then the K-3 would seem a good fit. The K-1 visa is only for people who soley want to go to the US to get married but in your case you wanna marry right away, you'll need to ask the people in K-3 forums. what does VN stand for anyway?

and it would also help if you post more information, so people will be able to provide you more information

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat to do first?
you have to be specific, are u the US citizen, the one petitioning?
The process for the fiance/fiancee (k-1) visa actually takes some time, so you may want to hold off the wedding plans until you guys get the visa.
To start the K-1 journey, check the step-by-step process for the K-1 package http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide
gather the forms, fill them out, sign them, gather supporting documents, proof of ongoing relationship, copies of your birth certificates, yours and hers, copy of the US citizen's passport, copy of pay stubs, proof of income, proof of ongoing relationship, pictures of both of you, proof of meeting, like copies of the hotel receipts when you visit, copy of the boarding passes, police clearance to prove that the fiancee you are petitioning for has no criminal records.
There may be more to add but that's all I can remember, i know others will chime in too ^_^
congrats on the engagement!

i don't know about the marriage license though proving you're single

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresClosing in on 100 days and still no NOA2
our approval took 144 or so days so don't fret just yet lol

This Froday will be 100 days since we sent in out I-129f forms. Have not been "touched" by VSC since they updated site with "initial review" back on April 2, 2010. I have called but was not given any information that would make me feel any better. My fianceee is VERY, very impatient and wants me to cakll and get a number from Customer Service. She thinks that will make the approval come faster. I know this is false, but she insists that if you call and get a number they will process faster. If that were true, why wouldn't everyone be doing this.

It seems that they are processing not on a "first come, first serve" basis, but on a "whichever i grab first" basis. That's why some peo[ple are getting their approval in as little as 30 days. Heck, i say someone on here claim they got an approval after one week!

According to the USCIS representative, they are still within their timeline of 5 months. Go figure.

Will just keep waiting like everyone else until the timeline passes

:) Kurt

let her read on visajourney and people waiting the same time as you, that's how i got over the whole waiting. why i remembered back then i would cry to my then-fiance-now husband to call the senator or something lol but when everything is said and done, it's gonna one sweet reunion

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSHAM!! Help
i'm sorry to hear about this ordeal your fiancee and you are going through. But as one of the previous poster said, try doing snail mails, to prove more about the relationship. When my husband and I did the K-1, the immigration specialist we hired had advised us to email each other once a week for 8 weeks or even until the interview time. For your case, maybe she can print off your previous emails? I read you guys kind of did the one-way messaging, but a snail mail doesn't sound bad at all for proof of the relationship. Also the bills from your texts, they'll show the cellphone number you sent out the texts to so she can use that for proof.
Have you tried rebtel? it's a calling service that provides cheaper minutes, check it out on www.rebtel.com and it will also show the list of numbers you called.

I hope you guys get approved with your next interview. I understand this must be hard on both of you right now having given a hard time by immigration. God bless and good luck on which ever route you guys will do to go past all this.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresImmigration Attorney Rant

Yes, he was going to tell the immigration officer the same thing he said in the B2 interview, which was technically true - he planned to come to be with me for a few months to spend more time with my children and I before we got married. I needed help with the kids over the summer, and had no childcare, so we thought it would have been the perfect opportunity. A B2 would have allowed him to do that. He was denied because he had given up his flat and moved in with his parents to save money for our future, this gave the appearance that his ties weren't strong enough in the UK to ensure his return, even though he'd owned his own business there for over 5 years.

Oh well... you live and learn.

i think that would be a better thing to tell the consulate why he was denied than tell them it was because of that stupid attorney lol. It's awful how there are people like this. Legally they make themeselves sound competent but they suck at the job lol, the immigration specialist we hired, actually had told us that he was also doing work for the immigration attorneys lol They actually hire him to do the work for them so they don't really know so much I guess. The people who can give you the better information are the ones who are going through this process lol.. People in visajourney! lol everybody helps each other and it's free lol rather than these people who take advantage of us.

BTW, don't worry too much about the I-134, you can print out as many as you'd like as long as you sign it and the information is consistent :) I remember I had a lot of copies of I-134 for my interview :) oh and a letter of intent to marry from him would be good too. It's like promising he will marry you within 90 days when he arrives in the US. The consulate didn't ask me for it but I brought a copy of mine though

And oh, just giving you a heads up, they will probably ask him about why his denied tourist visa, but he shouldn't mention to the consulate that it was because of some stupid advice a so-called immigration told you

i know it must've been really stressful having your wedding cancelled but hang in there, just keep being patient. And just use this time to be supportive of each other, it'll help making the relationship even sweeter when you finally get married
^_^
Oh, by the way, maybe you guys can write actual emails or snail mails to prove an ongoing relationship as well, they wil ask of that during the interview for the K-1. maybe 1 email per week for 8 weeks , that's what we did :) and proof of phonecalls.. because during the interview, it's just a mater of proving, the relationship is real, you guys will get married in 90 days of his arrival, you can support him when he goes to the US, he has no criminal records, and he is medically ok

God bless! I hope that helped :)

oh, I am so sorry to hear this exploitation by these so-called attorneys. When my hubby and I did the visa, we hired an immigration expert, not an attorney, and i learned about visajourney which was more help that these people we pay loads of $$$$!! anyway, don't worry about your paperwork so much ok? Gather all other documents you can show for the interview. You can make another I-134, sign it and send it to your fiance. My husband did that for me, when we got approved, we had the NOA2, i made sure I had a copy of his birth certificate(even though it really wasn't needed), i had a copy of his passport, the stamps on the passport for evidence of his visit. all other little things that can show and prove your meeting. That's very important for the interview for the K-1. He will need to show the I-134, he will need his birth certificate, police records or clearance (if they ask for that at the embASsy in his country), proof of your income, letter from your employer, pictures, pay stubs all those things, as long as he has those for the interview, you guys will be good. I know you said the gracious attorney royally screwed up sending originals, never send originals, always copies, but yes when it comes time for you guys to have the interview for the K-1, the embassy will most likely send him a letter too telling him what he needs to bring.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresregarding question 18 of the form(how I met my fiancee)
just make it as brief but informative and yes, as everyone had put, show the proof, photos, stamps on your passport, hotel receipts, boarding passes, receipts from any purchases you made in her city using your credit/debit card. Me and my fiance submitted a photocopy of his passport stamps, 3 receipts using his card(as that were the only ones left lol) 6 photos together, a baggage sticker that i found lol that was it and we got approved, now im just waiting for my visa to be delivered smile.gif

P.S. Do NOT submit the original stuff, just submit the copies, when i had my interview the consul asked me for proof of meeting, so i gave her the original copies of the receipts, and a boarding pass he found 2 months after we filed for the I-129f smile.gif

I was messaging another member and thought I would share this information with others on here that could benefit as well.

"I was having trouble texting my girlfriend with my phone (sometimes they would not go through) and it cost .25 each one so it started to add up, and phone calls were too expensive. I used Skype before to talk with some other friends I had in Thailand, it was pretty cool you could make a phone call through it for free. The free part was limited for computer to computer if you are both using Skype, but then I found out you could pay to make calls and texts to landlines or cell phones. The rate for Thailand is .11 so it was very affordable and the sound quality was pretty good too.

As I used their pay service something popped up about a monthly subscription in Skype. The subscription was only $5.95 a month for unlimited calls.... I was blown away. Then I discovered something even better, that I could use my cell phone to call with this unlimited plan (or landline), you don't have to call through the computer. What they do is provide you with a local Skype number, then you call that and set up contacts to call, when you select your contact it dials through Skype and connects you. So, for $5.95 a month you can call at any time and talk for as long as you want. Sometimes on my cell phone the quality is not as good, but I am sure on a landline it would be better (I always use my cell because I don't have a home phone). I used to call through my work and it was free (I work at a global company so they have unlimited calling anywhere), but I had to sneak the calls, so using my phone is way more convenient.

All you have to do is download Skype from www.skype.com, if your family has a computer you can just use it for free through their Skype to Skype calling (or they can go to internet cafes if they have one) and you can also do video calling. It's definitely cheaper than any calling card, and sometimes those cards have bad reception anyway. It has been a plus for me because now I can document my calls and text to her for the visa interview."

This is the very best deal I've come across to date! Check it out! Even free calls to India kicking.gif which was for me very difficult to find. Now they offer free international calls to 60 countries with their world plan.

Here's the link: http://www.vonage.co...CFR9N5QodV2X5Kw

You can also have your calls transfered to your cell or any other number if you're not home.

A lot of people here should be able to save tons on their phone bills.

Take care.

I that plan only for calls to landlines? My fiance uses his cell phone to call me and I use my cell phone. He has a plan in the UK through his cell phone company that gives him 2000 minutes for 15 pounds a month. When we talk for hours it is usually on the computer thru Skype. I have a world connect plan thru my cell phone comany that is $4.99/mo but calls to mobile phones is still $.28/min. Was just wondering about the moblie to mobile on Skype to go.

Thanks, Kimberly

me and my fiance used to buy credits for our skype, when he was not online ill call him thru my computer and the call is forwarded to his cellphone, and vice versa for me. they charge at a decent price per minute too and it's really clear when we talked smile.gif

just check their website for the rates

well there's no monthly unlimited calls for philippines so it's kind of sucky sad.gif we used to purchase credits but then again, he ended up spending way too much for phonecalls so we decided to cut low on that as $10 skype credits is only good for 30 minutes sad.gif and we talk for a few hours so he most of the time, he wont be able to purchase more credits because they have a limit..i think just about $400 worht for the entire month

I can't get this to work for me.

I am not sure if you can track the exact package, since you have to try a couple days before or a couple days after. try any one of these:

EXP 31 JUL 2009A
EXP 31 JUL 2009B
EXP 31 JUL 2009C

EXP 03 AUG 2009A
EXP 03 AUG 2009B
EXP 03 AUG 2009C

EXP 04 AUG 2009A
EXP 04 AUG 2009B
EXP 04 AUG 2009C

It's be great if someone here knows more, for example, it'll be always the dates before the date NVC gives you...I am hoping that's true.

i tried the EXP 31 JUL 2009B and it worked out for me, there's only one headed to manila; it said as of 8/6/2009 8:02 am- Depart Facility (Manila, Philippines, The)

so hopefully it will be delivered today at the consulate so im thinking ill just give the consulate a call this monday smile.gif

our file was sent out on the 31st and it said 8/3/2009 9:48 pm Depart Facility Londonderry, NH hence, it must explain why until today it hasnt been received yet smile.gif plus we had a national holiday yesterday but at least it's not such a long wait anymore smile.gif and im so excited! lol

awww. that is so inspiring! me and my fiancee are bout to send our application. seeing your timeline and reading this story is very inspiring! God is good indeed! God bless you and your future hubby! =)

aww im glad you feel that way.. God will always make a way and always remember God plans everything and gives our heart's desires in His time. The waiting will get to you at some point as it had with me and my fiance, after 3 months f waiting for the NOA2, i really just kept ranting about it, my fiance would laugh about it coz well in a way, he knew how i just really wanted it and he was sort of amused how i got lol.. I actually started crying at some point but there was nothing we could do except wait..and to wait patiently..but patience is not in my genes as i told my fiance lol.. but anyway, all i can really tell you is that keep praying, be supportive of each other and most of all dont let this stress affect your relationship coz i've seen how this waiting makes other people argue and even back out..

God has His plans, and we just need to always and  i say, always offer everything to Him. We are nothing without Him and I really leaRned that as I was getting quite too confident but when I sat there and just talked to God acknowledging that it's only thru Him we can get what we wanted, a few hours after, there it was.. in my email, the noa2 lol so yeah, God is great so just have faith all the time smile.gif

aww im sorry to hear that, well hopefully you can get answers after you get the letter.. but hey, don't let this get you down too much as there are always reasons why things happen; i know some people on here had gotten a denial and they got married instead and things worked out; but God bless on whatever your decisions will be for the future
just keep your spirits up and on a positive note this may only just bring you together even more on such a trying time;
be strong and God bless

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI gott it
congratulations! it will be very fast after the NOA2;
you'll get the hardcopy NOA2 probably in a week. make sure you keep that safe as it it important for the AOS
try calling the embassy about 2-3 weeks after NVC sends out the case to the embassy as you can likely be eligible for the interview around this time.
I did that and when I called I found out I could set the interview a week after I called smile.gif
COngratulations!

hi missy smile.gif wow still no NOA2 what on earth are they doing to your case, memorizing every letter? lol i do hope it will arrive soon

Hey Odessa! You're only a month away from US soil good.gif ! And a wedding follows soon after! Time is flying kicking.gif

yep im excited smile.gif i keep doin my countdown lol

but at the same time, i can only have him for less than a month coz i gotta wait for the advance parole and his command sponsorship so i can go to japan and live with him there. from what i learned the advance parole takes about 3 months..asap after the weddign we apply for AOS and pray really hard we get both command sponsorship and the advance parole before his leave ends so i can fly back to japan with him right away..otherwise ill have to stay at a friend's

I think you can make an Infopass appointment and apply for expedited advance parole, especially if you file AOS immediately and I think the military had a liason to help you get this done....

yeah that's what we plan on doin but we need the papers for my command sponsorship 1st for supporting documents, plus if i dnt get that yet then i wont be able to go enter japan legally..we did talk about getting me a visitor's visa then just have the whole process on getting this SOFA status command sponsorship whilst i am really in japan..but it all depends still.. i really do not wanna wait in the US without him..i have my friends in CO so i can stay there but another 3 months is a long wait..he tells me time will fly by fast and we have to be realistic; i know he's right but im not good with waiting lol
