Way to go MissMissy!

Another Missy? With numbers? Welcome aboard! Yes, some get approved quickly, especially if the case is expedited due to military or other reasons. Also, for quite a while Cali Service Center was chugging along a lot faster than VSC. But, unfortunately, CSC has slowed down rather than VSC speeding up. So the timelines will probably start evening out.

Bottom line is that we're stuck until they get moving again. I would say, however, that we're doing it with good grace and aplomb - only very brief outbursts yelling at the lazy @2&$%@#. Ooops, there I go again. Tourettes, terrible affliction.

hahah yeah i did notice there's already a missy hehehe biggrin.gif hello missymiss

anyvvay, my fiance's in the military but the reasons to get expedited though is likely for  "life & death " situations.. and my boo's in Okinavva

vvould it help though if vve vvould keep calling the USCIS? like a plea to drive them crazy so they'll approve ours soon lol

this vvaiting is taking forever sad.gif but yeah i did see these 2 other profiles from PI too and they got approved for the petition quite fast.. like NOA2 a month after NOA1

I thought I would throw in what I do-

We webcam/talk each night via msn chat for free. (okay, my monthly basic internet charge)
If I want to call him on my cell, I use Tel3 Advantage: https://www.tel3advantage.com/
It is 20 cents to Syria; somewhere around 17 cents per minute to Morocco.. Just look up the country you are calling.

Downside: I have to call into a special phone number before calling his number.
Upside: I can call him on my cell! I purchase minutes ahead of time; it tells me how many minutes I have left each time.
Quality is clear- can't even tell I am going through another company.

Early in my relationship, I made a $70 call one time. ohmy.gif (I was upset) After that, I was determined to find something cheaper!

Baj

Check the rates to Syria on here... http://www.callingca...rate_table1.asp With this calling card you will pay .12 cents a minute to Syria, and to Morocco its .10 cents. Again you still have that downside of having to dial a number prior to dialing his number. I first dial a 800 number which is on auto dial on my phone, enter a pin number, then his numbmer. But I like the rates.

if the call is clear and the rates are good.. that's all that matters.. the special number is just a small price to pay for getting cheaper calls happy.gif

i got determined in makin the bill smaller when my fiance finally confessed how much money he spends calling me! I was schocked! lol he says it doesnt matter, but I'm practical..or sometimes, I just joke around telling him "do you know how many pairs of shoes you can buy with that?" hahaha makes him laugh but he understands my point lol

U can use magic jack to call a usa cell phone... I don't recall ever saying that u hook the jack up to ur cell phone. The ppl over seas use the jack to place a call to u... they can place the call TO your cell phone or land line....not FROM ur cell.
I hope this makes more sense. We also don't use the jack in our home coz it's not needed.
we bought the 1 jack, gave it a houston number (local to us) and sent that jack to his family over seas. They hooked that jack up to their computer and hook their home phone up to it and use it to call us whenever they want at no charge (either they call our home phone or they call our cell phone)
I keep thinking that I explain this the right way so plz let me know if this still seems confusing.

was intrigued with magic jack after your post, will it work in our situation?(the free call and all)

my fiance's in okinawa im in philippines.. can he use a magic jack and i use one too? can i call his cellphone thru that or how does that work for us..coz if he's at home and so am i, we just basically make use of skype

Middle East and North AfricaHELP!!! Spending too much $ on phone bills...
you can also try rebtel smile.gif you can look it up on which country ur calling to; my fiance and i made us of tollfreeforwarding and he ended up paying more than $1000 for less than a month! try rebtel, it's cheaper, and u can use either prepaid or autorecharge
http://www.rebtel.com

my fiance's stationed in okinawa japan, when he had to do a training for a month in hawaii, i would call him on his CELLPHONE through skype(i'm subscribed for a monthly unlimited calling to US/canada for $2.95 and it's free for me and him but you have to watch out for the minutes though;

so the USC must make sure to watch for the minutes spent on the phone; or have the foreign fiance/fiancee call on hours where there's unlimited minutes.. just ask your phone network what hours in the day when you can do unlimited calls smile.gif

Middle East and North AfricaGod be with Us
Please include me in your prayers to remain faithful, and patient about our case ; I can't help feel depressed whenever i think about this immigration process sad.gif
Pray without ceasing that's what i bleive in, nothing to hard or to great of a problem that God cannot solve. He is almighty, all powerful, faithful and He will never leave us, God is so good all the time and His ways are far better than all of ours; He will always make a way for everything and putting our trust in Him is what He wants;

I just do pray I will have the heart to trust more, to surrender everything in His name and to block all those "what ifs" and worries; God will never forsake us and He is greater than anyone in the world; And i know God in all His power will use someone as a way to give us our hearts desires.

QUOTE (Moonskin @ May 30 2009, 01:20 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello,

my hubby and I got recently married and are going to apply for a CR1 (prob will send package end of next week). What I have read on this topic was really interesting (Thanks to the person who posted it) so I was wondering I we could apply. My husband is in the Air Force and currently finishing his formation which is gonna lead him to his first deployement, and we would really like that everything is set before this deployment. Furthermore, we are currently renting 2 appartments : his in the US, and mine in France, and this is seriously a lot of money. That's why I am wondering if it couldn't be taken in consideration.
Now the question is, when do you apply for an expedite, can you do it when you send your package ? Or a while after ?

Other question out of topic : does anyone have experienced travelling to the US for visit while their CR1 was being processed ?
Like all of you, I can't live without my loved one so much anymore and I really would like to visit for summer, I am just quite afraid not being let in, even if I don't have any intention to stay till the visa is not approved.

hi Moonskin smile.gif there's a thread that you could find really helpful, it's for for miltary spouses and u can ask about the CR-1  too

hi catt, want to ask if you for ideas about the letter from the CO for us to be expedited; my fiance has yet to talk to his CO, he is in okinawa and has been stationed there for less than a year (aug.2008) and i was wondering if you can give me any tips like how and what to ask his CO to help us with our case to be expedited; my fiance called the military hotline and they just said they cant expedite us! i dont buy that at all;

there's that whole thing with North Korea and that worries me so much; even though he said he wont deploy, well who knows; the uscis should be more supportive and they should hasten their pace..

but yeah just really want to get as much help and ideas on how we can push for an expedite.

My fiance already wrote to his senator in PA too; a letter from the CO would really  help support all this

thanks! <3

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDual filing of K1 and CR1
QUOTE (Twisted K @ Nov 17 2009, 08:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
filing for a k1, and getting married automatically voids out the k1 visa, as you will no longer be fiances. so, just consider that as a donation to uscis. you are free to marry, and file cr1 dcf, if you meet the dcf requirements (there is no k3 for dcf filers). k1 petition (i129f) is currently $455. cr1 petition (i130) is currently $355. k3 petitions (i129f) is free, but you still must also file the (i130) and still pay $355.
so if you want to get married this winter, do not apply for the k1. as i said earlier, that would just be a $455 donation to uscis.

don't forget a $1010 for AOS, and a civil surgeon, then removal of conditions after 2 years... that's K-1 for you lol
it's faster but will cost you more

but what's money right? whatever can make you be together with your loved one sooner, the expenses don't matter that much
newlywedsMale02009-11-17 10:28:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDual filing of K1 and CR1
if you file for the K-1 you'll have to pay for the fee $455 if you then get married even before the K-1 was approved, that voids it and you'll have to file for something else like a K-3 but since you said maybe do a DCF, you'll end up paying for another bout of fee i think..

the payment to the USCIS is non refundable just because you decided to do DCF instead while waiting for the K-1

i really wont buy the whole thing about them saying we cant get expedited;

my fiance is also trying to write to his senator in PA; any other senators whom you think are really very supportive of the military? smile.gif

my fiance keeps saying this really does add unnecessary stress; wwe need to be together soon lol <3 biggrin.gif

If he's not going to be deployed, I don't see them approving your expedite request. Expedites are not so common as they seem to be, as they are often denied, even to military members. Your fiance is right, in your case the request only adds unnecessary stress. You are lucky he's not going to be deployed, deployments are hard. If it was in my hands, I would rather wait and go through this process the "normal" long way than having him deployed back again to Iraq or Afghanistan. I suggest you wait in line like everyone else. Good luck in your journey!

well he had been deployed in afghanistan for 15 months and i am just really thankful to God he wont ; he almost was to be sent there again for 6 months but then someone else did so i am really grateful for that; but yes  i have God to thank for just being there with him all the time, even with the whole fuss over N.Korea and him having to leave for Laos all i can really do about it is pray;

well, hey you can't really blame me for wanting to get expedited, like everyone else i am just really very anxious about seeing him again; this is the only thing both of us are waiting for.. to be together & be married! happy.gif

and hey, it's worth a try to do that, i got to talk to someone from here and they even got approved for the K-1 after a month of filing, they filed january and they got approved february;

but honey, you definitely misunderstood what i wrote, i ddn't mean my fiance thinks the request is adding unnecessary stress, he WANTS to do the request , whatever can help us see each other sooner is so much better; the unecessary stress is the whole waiting for the immigration.

but anyway, it's worth a try, we could be approved or not either way, it would just depend on God's hands if it's His will then I'd be thankful for it if not then there's a greater purpose for it. and besides, He will always make a way smile.gif

the VSC just needs to hurry uuuupppp LOL

like everyone misses their fiances and spouses, i miss mine badly! smile.gif sooo can't help it if i feel hopeful for something like this expedite

hi guys, my fiance is in the military and he is stationed in okinawa,japan just last august 2008 but he wont deploy anywhere. the only place he will go to is LAOS by june 25th til july 28th,
is there any chance for us to file for an expedite even though he really wont deploy anywhere? is there any way we can file for an expedite under the criteria of Department of Defense of National Interest Situation ?
and what documents will he need to request for the expedite,; i told him to talk to his CO about it this monday or tuesday also, how will he address the situation? should he just tell his CO to write a letter? and oh, does it have to be the CO or could it be someone of a lesser office but of a higher rank than my fiance

thanks guys really want to get our K-1 petition expedited

when will you need the letter of intent? will it be asked for during the interview? i keep readign about it but i never really asked lol; but anyway, when is that for? and what else should be written there? is it just a bunch of stuff about us wanting to get married, where, when, and like the reasons for it ? coz if it's just to state our intention to marry within 90 days, i guess we can make it as brief right?

thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSurprisingly quick (if it happens!)
yes, i do agree with most here you can look at the K-1 flowchart, even the processing time from submitting the petition and getting it approved to the National visa center, it takes time and then u have to set aside a few more weeks for the USEM, medical exam stuff like that; so definitely not 4-6 weeks; even those who got expedited got there visa in hand in a few months time say about 3-4 months more like it i think; but yeah do just check the timelines.
but hey just pray for your whole process that there won't be any probs with the paperwork then it can run smoothly smile.gif

God bless and i bet you're just so excited too wink.gif

I guess you didn't ask for her hand in marriage from Pops.

NOT a very good start to a marriage.

The act of asking a parent for their daughters hand in marriage is not a common custom all over the world, it has no barring on how well a marriage will start..

wouldn't you think it feels much better to have their blessing and you 2 dont have to hide anything? and you know what, though her parents are so strict, you asking them let's them feel how much you respect them too, which will make them realize you have good intentions.(every parent will always wonder about the lover's interntions lol so dnt get offended ok? )
My parents are absolutely strict so I know what I'm talking about lol. My fiance and I actually tried talking about getting married in Japan and not telling the parents coz I know my dad would freak out about me getting married lol...
but we sucked it up and told them, and they were happy that we told him coz it implied their important to us, which made them become considerate actually..so give it a try, and talk to her dad, be humble enough and listen to him, and of course I know how much you love her so it's just a matter of letting him know how serious you really are.. and with the plans you have for her too.. My fiance did that, and well, my dad approved lol

but anyway, the G-325A only needs information about her parents they dont need to fill it out for her.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSudden problem with copy of initial packet
i ddnt need ours when i went in for the interview; all you need during the interview are a copy of W-2s, income tax returns(i think that's the 1040s im not sure as we ddnt even have that lol) and copy of stuff of his visit, boarding pass, receipts, then on going relationship proof, emails, call history and the photos of u together..so dont stress over that stuff.

when i had the interview they ddnt ask for the intent to marry letters, i ddnt have one only my fiance's while the other 3 girls i met at the embassy doing the K-1 visa weren't asked any of those either. it's ok if you dnt have a copy of everything, but it's also good for reference if in case there will be RFEs

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswhere can i find the visa number on my passport?
there's a number labeled: control number

and then there's the number in between my passport number and the nvc case number

is it the number that has PHL?

i found something that looks like this

XX********(passport#) PHL*******F*******K1MNL0PH*******

so is the PHL the visa number?
