my cousin did the CFO a long time ago, she's done the K-3 and they just asked for her passport and her marriage certificate; I had a friend who just flew out of teh country said she did the CFO before her interview;

she probably did the CFO counseling before her interview and go back again to get a sticker after she got her visa cause u cant leave PINAS w/o the CFO sticker

oh ok well thank you, that's very informative; i will most definitely keep that in mind

and i got this site :

mas better raw ung YAz akala ko ang yaz, yung yasmine hehe.. im confused na tuloy.. are they the same one?> i thought abbreviated lang ung Yaz

I believe Yaz and Yasmin are both from Bayer. I am using Yasmin for almost two years now and I must say that I like it soooooo much. When I started using it, the first few months were pretty tough on me because of all the side effects like dizziness, nausea, headaches, can hardly breath and chest pains. I was really scared and almost quit using it but the doctor said it will get better as soon as my body got used to it. She was right... I also gained weight during the adjustment period and shed it off afterwards. The pill helps me regulate my period, prevents getting acne and maintaining my weight too that's why I'm sticking with it (like I said I have been using it for almost 2 yrs now). Every effect to every woman is different so I don't know how it will work for you. I heard Yaz is as good as Yasmin. I almost thought about switching but I chickened out thinking about the side effects when I start over again. And oh, the mens is very short and light with my pill... just 2-3 days and you're done. I also like it that I know when to expect it. I can always make plans if ever there's something special going on with my husband and I. blush.gif My pill's very expensive if you don't have insurance. I'm getting my supply from mail order pharmacy and pay $9 for 3 packets. It will save you a lot if you will ask your doctor to make the prescription be dispensed on a 3-month supply basis.

thanks for sharing this smile.gif i googled yaz and yasmin parang natakot ako kahapon about what i read because it can cause pyschological distress and of course a lot of the reviews said something about having zero sex drive(not something we're looking forward to) and other than that, I'm afraid of the other side effects you mentioned but I still do want to have some form of BC, also one post it's best to take yaz for those with PMDD im not sure if i have that, i looked up the symptoms and i cant be a 100% sure if that would apply to me; anyway, as ive learned from my family, my sister and my mom had major emotional issues when they were on the pill, i guess th ehormones were too much;

I dont want the patch anymore coz I dont want somethign that doesnt really work so much; How about the nuva ring has anyone ever tried that?

i read teh reviews.. these stuff scare me nah tuloy.. ung yaz u might become an emotional wreck! i do not want that hehe moody kasi ako, and from what ive read it's better to try yaz if you have PMDD; and i dont know if i have that, although when i am 2 weeks from my period i notice my mood swings, and it's not the best hehe.. i may have to discuss that with my OB.. my sister had used natural family planning with rubber but she got pregnant after 3 yrs nah; she tried pills, grabe ung ate koh, super scary mood swings talaga! same with my mom back then..so i guess that kind of scared me with the pill..ive never tried any BC and im scared of trying it... I want something that will decrease my menstrual cramps as i get severe dysmenorrhea before or during the onset of bleeding; and even if i take pain reliever meds, the pain is unbearable. I also do get premenstrualk headaches rarely breakouts so I do want to find a BC that will help decrease those symptoms

Hi sweetpink,

I used ortho tri-cyclen lo for two years. I didn't gain weight, no mood swing, no headaches, no swelling of breast, no side effects that I felt at all. Mas lalong kuminis yong skin ko especially on my face yon lang. good.gif good.gif good.gif

You cannot buy birth control pills without doctor's prescriptions!

My hubby and I will try to use Mirena IUD after I'll give birth to our first child on December. My three sisters in PI used an IUD. My eldest sister ang youngest nila ay 21 years old na. Sa awa ni Lord wala naman silang bad side effect na naramdaman using the IUD. When you use IUD you must have a regular check up unlike sa pills na refills ka lang.

Good luck my friend and take care always!!

star_smile.gif Princess star_smile.gif

is the ortho-tricyclen available in US? well, after kasi we get married, as soon as i get the AP im going to lie with my fiance in Okinawa; I think they haVE that in their base; anyways thanks s ngpost about s patch..hay thank God i found out about it. Scary naman baka after a month lang id get preggers nah.. eeepp paano nalang hehe..although my fiance doesnt have any problems having kids at anytime, I just think it would be better nah we'd start having kids when we go back to the states nah, which will be around 2012. After we get settled na dun kasi hirap naman mg adjust ng baby if palipat lipat kami.

Anyway, im glad someone made thsi thread. It's helpful..

I think I'd prefer the pill nalang. Yasmine or ortho right? Im not so sure about the Dianne pills as one of the OBs I know told my classmate back then that it highly carcinogenic; She advised my classmate to switch. Although I'm a nurse, mas gusto p pa rin malaman ung side effects na na experience ng iba kaysa sa textbook lists eh.

I think I may get the Depo-Provera, an injection shot good for 3 months

I have never used any contraceptive pills so i just wanna ask you about Depo-provera if it is ok smile.gif I have 3 friends in Pinas that gained weight after having Depo-provera, is that really the effect of it? What did your doc told you about the side effects? I don't wanna be fat kasi hehe.

yikes! i dont wanna be a fat #### lol; but yes, that IS one of the side effects, and it does cause pimples too; so i dont know yet if i really will do that; I am still gonna discuss that further more with my OB; but my classmate in college did that and she's ok with it. Oh wait, she had headaches though, more like migraines; anyway, she's had 2 kids already so her OB says it's ok but for women who hasnt had kids my OB says it's not advisable to have as the main contraceptive; my OB said it's ok for me to have it just once, but it's something I still need to think over because I don't want to run the risk either of not having children in the future.

but from what was posted by someone, maybe I will see about the pills from watsons in the Phils? is that available though somewhere else or just in our country?

i talked to my OB and had a pap too, she told me different choices, I think I may get the Depo-Provera, an injection shot good for 3 months, but you have to get it during yoru period, otherwise they wont give it to you; it's not good though if you havent been pregnant ever but my OB said if i get it just once it's fine; She then advised to try the patch so I think i may just do that; I don't think I'll do the pill nor rubber. But yeah, just talk to your OB more for what will suit you best smile.gif Some people dont do well with oral contraceptives, some do so it depends on whichever one will suit you best

i would like to share the good news today..
Aug.17,2009

My dad is working as a chef in a reefer ship and when Jamie my fiance
visited me last year in manila he never met him because my dad is still at work that time.
right now my father is enjoying his vacation...but he will leave the country again on Aug 29.
Jamie decided to talk to my dad to formally ask about marriage..
our only chance ..online proposal.. using the mic the camera and
with the loud speaker on.. he will ask my dad for my hand... gosh!

imagine.. i woke up very early 2am today so i could catch up
for his time in texas before he sleeps, to finish arranging
documents that he will send me, including researching about I-134..
and at the same time i'm checking VJ from time
to time if there is anybody who replied to our question..then waited for my dad to wake up to tell him
jamie wants to talk to him..
to make my noble short..sorry..long explanation hehe... headbonk.gif
they had a good conversation and i know both of them are really nervous..
my mom just smiled very noisy here earlier ...funny(both jamie and dad lost their tongue hehehe. lolz!)

my father gave us his blessings cool! and he told jamie to take care of me and love me.

im sooooo happy!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

aww congratulations smile.gif

It must've been so great smile.gif

My fiance did the same thing lol he called my dad and they talked online, I was so nervous because my fiance left the country just a few weeks before. Me, introducing a boyfriend to my dad was one thing, and him asking my hand a few weeks later was another lol my dad was very surprised biggrin.gif and he gave us our blessing as well..

I know how you must've felt when they had the conversation happy.gif and well, your dad's a great man for knowing what true love really is.

oh yeah, your dad works in a ship, so kind of like a long distance relationship with yoru mom, how did he react when he learned you were doing a long distance relationship too? Having our parents working overseas, they really know how it is hehe

my fiance is stationed in Okinawa, he filed whilst being there and we're almost done with the K-1 smile.gif why dont they just get married here, then live together in Japan and after 6 months of her domiciled in japan and his proofs that he too is domiciled in Japan, then they can do the Direct Consular Filing. She can just get a visitor's visa to go to Japan or work out with the immigration in Japan then just file thru DCF in Japan, they have a lot of areas to have the DCF smile.gif

BRing your filled out form DS157 to the BDO branch wherethe payment is accepted and let the teller know beforehand that you have a filled out form. They will accept that. If you don't, they have blank DS157 forms in their branch and all you need to do is just attach that to your DS157 forms. Be sure you keep it, that will serve as our receipt. Hope this helps.

You may also want to consider hotel fees and meals while waiting in Manila versus just flying back home until the interview. My fiancee is from Cebu and it was actually cheaper for her to fly home, then back again versus just staying there until the interview.
The hotels near the clinic and embassy can get costly, then you add your food bill on top of that too.
Just a thought....good luck.

Yes...I agree with the above and learned the hard way how expensive is to stay in MANILA.

Better Flying back and forth then staying there...and the taxis are going to PLUCK you alive, there are trained to spot "NON-Manila residents" a mile away.

example.. a 150 ph ride will sudden become 500 ph, hotels have special rate for non-residents....all lower priced room become fully booked and just the most expensive rooms are left

thanks rockhouse! happy.gif well, I am from iligan, and the nearest airport is in CDO, so i will have to travel to CDO and the taxi going to the airport is expensive! lol plus the plane tickets then taxi to and from the airport in manila will skin me alive lol.. so I would rather stay in Manila.. I do know it can be expensive when adding the food bill, but ive equated all the stuff and it is more expensive for me to to 2 trips for the medical and the interview..

and yes, the hotels can be pricey.. me and my family always go to manila for vacation, that was one of the issues lol.. i had called in the hotel actually and they told me the only vacant ones are the suites, which are $12 more to the standard one.. so, that can be too costly overtime.. thus I really am just trying to figure out a way so I can save money lol. My fiance says it's not a big deal but any way I can save is a BIG help lol happy.gif

Hi Odessa(?),

I know you can inform that you are having your interview the next day and can actually give your passport to you. You dont want to take any chance in going to the interview without your passport at the USEM. I know someone who was in the same situation and she just told the people at SLEC that she will be having her interview the next day and they let her have the passport. The appointment letter will be a proof of the date of your interview.

But yeah, you should give an allowance like if they see a scar in your lung or unexpected menstruation (knock on wood) if you think you are healthy then you are good to go. Good luck!

hi, since you have done your medical already, did they ask for the vaccination history? you know, the records from your old doctors.. I know I got my Hepa A shots when I was still a little kid, and I couldn't get a hold of my pediatrician, the only record I have with me is for my cervical cancer vaccination.. should I have all the records from back then?
