US Citizenship General Discussion319(b) - what type of company meets the requirements?
hi! i know you're anxious about being able to find an answer, but i read a suggestion from a previous poster of an older thread, you can read it here: http://www.visajourn...any-definition/

anyway, as one member had suggested, have you tried doing an infopass so you can get a better answer if USCIS considers your company a US-based one? if you don't know what an infopass is, it is being able to go to your local office to talk to a representative there in person; you can google it and be able to find the website as you will have to set an appointment online and bring the copy of that appointment letter on the day of your appointment :)

i hope that helps!

regarding the test taking and oath taking, i asked the uscis military hotline about it, they said, you can just request for which place you can get interviewed but you just need to state that on the cover letter

US Citizenship General DiscussionN-400 Expedited Naturalization 319b Information

Does it make any sense in using a lawyer for 319b or is the process pretty straight forward?

you dont really need to hire a lawyer, if it is based on having a spouse in the military, believe me it is pretty quick, especially if you do not have a complicated case; i think you'd need a lawyer if you have issues like some people had, legal issues like illegally being in the country or the like, but for us, since our case was not at all complicated we did not need to.
We sent the application august 2010, and i got emailed to set my interview date at the end of september so it was pretty quick :)

US Citizenship General DiscussionN-400 Expedited Naturalization 319b Information
Hi! I am in the process of doing the 319 b as well.. i have so many questions! lol I have already desperately made 2 threads for questions but i haven't gotten so much answers yet.
ANyway, the thing is my husband is military and I am already here with him on command sponsorship.
I wonder if I still need the DD 1278? since I am already in Japan.

Which address should I put on part 4? the physical japan address or the APO, AP?

i was thinking maybe I can just write the physical address on the part A and then his APO, AP on the mailing and do the care of with hubby's name on it. BUt it also raises concerns for me having read that some people missed oath taking because their mail took forever.

or should I use his grandma's US add for mailing address so we get mail on time? we used his dad's add when we did the K-1 until AOS but we can't use that anymore.

i read on one of the posts here that there's a need for a police clearance for being in a foreign country for 6 months,
well I have been here since february 18 (after I got my AP I flew here right away, and my GC was forwarded by his dad to our APO add) but I am afraid it will take time for me to gather all documents since we have to ask for tax transcripts from IRS still. So by the time we get them in our APO mail, i will have stayed here for more than 6 months.. so should I need a police clearance from japan? thanks

US Citizenship General DiscussionGeneral Info on Naturalization
hi, i am planning to apply for the INA 319(b)
we live in an APO,AP address.. so what should I write on the part4. for the address? it says "do not write a PO box"
should I put the actual physical japanese address? or can I just write the APO, AP even if it would say PO BOX APO, AP ?

US Citizenship General DiscussionNew free tool for studying the 100 questions

Hi Susan,

I am sorry you have issues. Did you use the new link when you got the problem?

The NEW link is: http://amaruk.atspac...CivicsTest.html
The OLD link starts with: http://mysite.verizon.....

The new link works fine on Safari on my iPhone so I would expect it to work on Safari on a Mac too.

If the new link fails, please report back with what version you browser (Safari,IE,FireFox etc) is and I will look into it. I think many comments (if not all...) about the site being closed/locked are related to the old link that has been shut down for quite a while now. The new link has been up since the old one closed and the new one has worked just fine since then.

Krakatoa, thanks for clarifying!

Mods, if you want to put this quiz on your server, feel free to do so. I would be more than happy to adopt it to suit your needs. Just drop me a PM here.

Tong Yan, as far as I know the quiz is still current (fall 2010).

Thanks,
Seakayaker

it doesn't open with my safari browser, even if i click on the new link..

i think it would be easier for people to comment on if the OP may provide more information? Like what is the forms did you really submit? So we will understand if you applied for the ROC or you may have ended up sending them the AOS package;
to the OP please, give us more information so it can also help others who are also under the same process; and I do hope you get all of that figured out.
I think too, you can reflect what forms, evidence and other documents you sent;
list them here so we can see and some others may suggest what you can do or what they did

I would recommend City State Tower Hotel its so nice there and safe and cheap.Stayed there few times when hubby visited us,during my daughter's CRBA appointment at USEM and my medical and interview.
Close to Robinson's Place and restaurants and Manila Bay.

Its very close to St.Luke's and USEM and its a sis-com of Cherry Blossom..we stayed at Cherry Blossom too before.

Also,StoneHouse are nice and cheap 5 blocks from City State.

whenever my dad comes home from another country and we pick him up at manila for a short family vacation; We usually stay at City State Tower Hotel, it's a nice place, they're fairly cheap too about Php1,500/night for a single room and about 1,900 i think for the doubles;

if u want you can call em up to verify coz last time i stayed there was '07 my parents stayed there last dember 08

City State Tower Hotel

1315 A. Mabini St. Ermita, Manila

tel. no. 400-7351 to 61

. there's chowking on the next block, robinson's mall is about 5 minutes by foot; i think theyhave a free shuttle for teh airport too; you can call em up and find out but yes, it's nice. It's actually where a lot of balikbayans stay at wink.gif

well not all is true.i met my wife online feb 9 2007. i knew i want to get married 2 weeks after meeting my wife. i flew to manila and married my wife april 30 2007. and got married. we filed cr-1 may or june 2007 and i flew over to phils to fly back with my wife april 2008. and still happy. its not all about spredding the legs to get to know someone. i talked to my wife 2 times daily on comp. & cam and learned more that way then dateing women in person.

Ok, that's what I was looking for! Thanks! I met someone about 5 weeks ago and we've been talking 2 times a day, every day, since. I'm flying to meet her next week. I feel like I've known her forever and I don't anticipate that changing once we've met in person. I was just fishing for an answer to see if anyone had gone through either the K-1 or CR-1 process after only knowing each other for 2 or 3 months. I'm not jumping the gun here, just trying to get a feel for what to expect and what "to do" and what "not to do" to jeopardize the future.

me and my fiance had talked for about 5 months til finally meetin in person. when you meet that one special person, you do feel like you could get married in a heartbeat blush.gif and while waiting for your file to get processed it can also help make you learn more about each other too; good.gif  especially when the stress gets to you, you can really learn about what you need to do to support each other in times like that

anyway, me and my fiance filed for the K-1 a few weeks after he left smile.gif i actually got worried at one point that maybe we might get RFEs or something especially because our photos were mostly face pics; but hey, we got approved so i guess it's ok  blush.gif and right now, we're just waiting on progress reports for our processing

i also read on this e-book that during the interview you just need to be honest and pretty much convince them that your relationship is true and all you really want is to be with the one you love; but hey, prayers work too wink.gif

and while i was reading this whole thread i cant help notice how some people are just trying to lash at each other for petty stuff; it's not entertainment, it spells issues lol

you dnt need to pick on people if they dont seem to fit your standards, it doesnt make you sound any smarter/superior but rather childish.. maybe people can post something relevant to the OP's post? just a suggestion  good.gif

so your fiancee is having her medical soon? We're probably going to wait until we have the USEM letter, do you know the average time it usually gets to the beneficiary? Seems like it's taking forever lol.

Well, she was going to do the medical next week to get it done, but some people say they won't let her in without the USEM "letter", and some say the NVC case # and NOA2 is all thats needed, so i don't know what the hell we will do. I guess i will call the embassy soon and inquire about our case and set the interview. That way we get the email "letter" and then there should be NO problems getting into the medical.

I really wish the USEM or St. Lukes had ONE way of doing it. It's really so frustrating not knowing for sure which route could be taken to get the medical done fastest.

they say it could take about a month for the letter from the embassy then,you can set the interview about 2 wks after;but i think it would be good to rather call them instead of waiting for the letter to arrive since it might take ages for the letter; im thinking they might send it thru snail mail lol

but i have read that the st.luke's actually will accept the NOA2; why not make a thread about that,so you cn get answers from people who have done the medicalalready smile.gif

PhilippinesQuestion for Filipinas
well, a birthday invitation means you just attend, bring a gift and not worry about the bill

but when i go to those little reunions with friends, then we usually go dutch but if i invite them after not having seen them for a long time then i pay for it;

also, if im out with a friend who i know isnt financially well off atm then i just tell her that it'll be my treat, coz as friends we do that most of the time; it's anticipating each other's situation plus what matters is that you get to spend tme together, & money can't buy that so buying a meal isn't that big of a deal

she probably did the CFO counseling before her interview and go back again to get a sticker after she got her visa cause u cant leave PINAS w/o the CFO sticker

oh ok well thank you, that's very informative; i will most definitely keep that in mind
