my k1 petition got sent to the NRC (national records center) instead of NVC. It sat there without anyone knowing for over 2 months. it was not until i got in contact with my congressman office that they were able to locate it and they had to send it back to uscis, then to nvc. i know of 2 other ppl on this site that this same thing has happen too. it delayed our k1 visa in total of about 3 months.

me and my fiance ddnt send any boarding passes, he found them later on after we had sent everything, we just had the photos, and the passport stamps and some copies of the receipts for whatever purchases he had in the city.
he tried to send me the boarding passes (so i can use it as evidence for whenever we would have the interview. But he sent it thru regular mail and somehow the mail never arrived; it's been more than a month now, it was supposed to be returned to sender but i doubt it.

then just put some date range as to when you think it might be received.. i see our files were sent a day apart; hopefully you can see if your file had been received by the embassy and just give the embassy a call to verify if they have the case

hi i got this from another thread and thought id post it on yours as it contains good information :

Here is my consolidated list of tips:

1) 2 days after NOA2, starting calling NVC: 603-334-0700 press 1 then 5.

2) Once NVC has your case, they assign a new case #. Ask them what date they sent your file to the embassy & also for the NVC case #.

3) Once you know the date NVC sent off the file, track it at DHL's website: http://track.dhl-usa...?nav=TrackByRef For the reference code, enter EXP 10 JUL 2009A (adjust using dates just before the date NVC told you), with a shipping range of that day to a few days later (July 13 - July 14 worked for the example above). Look for shipments to your beneficiary's embassy.

4) To find out if the embassy processed the packet, call the Dept of State before 5pm: 202-663-1225 press 1 then 0

5) You can also call the DoS to find out your interview date once you believe the embassy has scheduled it.

you can also track your case if it was received by the embassy already thru DHL; do you know the date the NVC mailed it out? you can track if it's still in transit or not; NVC sent mine last july 31st and i looked up on DHL i saw one package in that timeline heading for Manila so must be mine hehe.. anyway, it said it had departed DHL today so hopefully they receive it today smile.gif

OP ! Go do your medical NOW. You only need the NOA2, 3 PP pics, 2 ballpens and passport to do so.
Best to do so early in case something like sputum test pops up.


thanks, i was gonna fly asap earlier but then i relaized i had renewed my passport 2 weeks ago and will prolly get it around tomorrow til friday. but im thinking ill fly out monday and have the medical tuesday next week then on monday the week after, interview date smile.gif 




oh btw, are there specific weekdays that they do the medical? say is there a medical exam on a friday? coz if there is ill fly out tuesday and have the medical wednesday and thursday, is that ok though? and oh,anyone now what that form is that will be filled out for the immunization record for the AOS coz we're doin the AOS asap afte we get the marriage certificate smile.gif thanks guys!

Give the USEM consulate 4-6 weeks and then begin to be concerned. The visa application fee is $135 and you will be told how to pay it.

i already called them i was told i am eligible to set my interview appointment, weird it only took 2 weeks after the NVC sent my case, for me to be eligible. anyway, the appointment letter will most likely take longer as they send it out thru snail mail.

why not have your fiancee call the USEm instead because it'll be expensive for you. i only talked to the lady about 3 minutes tops earlier, already gave her my info so when i call back there'll be less talk time. it only costs about Php55 per minute; i only need to call them 2x, it would've just been once but im unsure of my interview date yet as my passport is not with me. smile.gif hope that helps!


oh and by the way, she can only get thru a PLDT or smart landline;

Our case was processed at the embassy for just about 2 weeks! It was all too fast, heheh I was surprised when the girl on the phone said you are eligible to set yoru interview date lol and I just called in to ask about our case

I realized though that I still need to wait for my passport as I renewed it 2 weeks ago. Luckily, I renewed it asap when I learned the embassy has our case already as I found out about the need for the renewal a few days just before that.

Me and my fiance have waited for quite a long time to get approved by the VSC but GOd is so good! I will forever sing His praises. I am just so amazed by His power. God is truly so good.

we applied for the I-129f last march 2 and our NOA2 was july 27, 2009. NVC sent it to the embassy JULy 31. And the embassy received it aug.6 as there was the weekends and a national holiday. 

I finally called the US embassy after procrastinating because I was dependent on the fact that it takes a month or so to have the schedule for the interview. And I'm so surprised when the call center agent said i can schedule as soon as AUG.27, my boo's 23rd birthday. I haven't set it yet as I want to discuss it with my fiance first, and I need to consider the fact that I have to give at least a week before my interview to have my medical exam done. I am still just dumb founded in a way.

but, it made me realize God is so good, it is all in His time. When you just surrender everything to Him and let Him do all of it and stop worrying, you'll be amazed by the outcome. God is great and all praises, thanksgiving and glory belong only to Him.

So I called the military hotline, they said i should call the supervisor rather than email,

so i did call and a woman answered, telling me to email when I WANT the interview date.

I was pretty much very surprised lol

Don't usually set up the interview date for you? So now, hubby and I are thinking of the date when

to have it considering the options of him flying with me for support or me flying there alone.

If it were me I would have both of us fly ASAP! lol

BUT, he has military duties and trainings that are scheduled oct.25-nov. 8 so we dont know yet if those are the only ones lol




i am too excited for this! hahaha if i could, i'd have the interview like next week and fly over there lol

Got back from the UK last night and mail delivery was to resume today. No mail arrived. Called the Post Office and they apologized for not resuming the mail but said they had letters for me.

Went down and picked it up just now. The very last letter was the INTERVIEW APPOINTMENT !!!

The fingerprints were 200 miles way at 6am and I went the night before and stayed in a hotel as it was a 9am appointment; but the interview is 100 miles away and 2.30pm - PERFECT !

Check cleared 8/24/10. Online image still not there, so I can't see what our assigned number is. :(



i got my receipt number from the USCIS hotline ^_^ they just entered it yesterday and the lady from the USCIS military hotline told me they haven't even mailed off the NOA1 yet.

But i know when we did the K-1 journey, that was how hubby got our receipt number, so u can just call them and ask ^_^ even if u ask the nonmilitary USCIS hotline

when i called to get my n400 receipt# they asked me for
1) Alien #
2)first&last name
3)and date of birth

i tried looking it up on the website right away, my thing wasn't to be found so i called them again and I was told that for n400s the website isn't very reliable sometimes because it doesn't get updated right away.
she did tell me though average n400 takes 4-9 months..
so i'm praying we get thru it sooner since we're doing 319b, and there's this thing that we have to be here for at least 1 yr after the citizenship T_T

i just called the military hotline, and i found out they haven't sent me the NOA1 yet. So they probably maybe haven't opened my packet yet? lol
i was kind of hoping to know my receipt # asap so i can go on and start to religiously check my case status on the website lol

the guy said i should wait about 30 days to get something. Anyway, we're overseas and our mail gets sent to a relative in the US so.. i'm hoping i won't have to wait til they get it in the mail.. lol

hi! i had a similar experience with yours, i had a citation given to me and i could not drive for 6 months, i did reflect in on my n400 and also attached a letter of explanation for the incident, and i also signed it. During my interview, the IO asked me about the outcome of the citation and she also asked to see the original ticket and citation document.
Oh, I did also attached a copy of the ticket and citation letter in my packet when i applied for it.

i was once given a citation by the military police for a driving incident, i reflected it on my n400 form, also given a copy of the ticket and the citation that was given to me.
during my naturalization interview, i was asked about it and what was the outcome of it, i just explained that it was already dealt with, the citation lifted, and then the IO asked to see if i had the original documents. I showed it to her.
I know my case seems so much different from yours, but maybe that can also help :)
The main thing i gathered from it is that they do wanna know what the outcome is. I also did include an extra sheet to explain what the citation was about. The most important thing is just being honest about it and letting them know about these things.

when contacting fairfax, especially the supervisor Ms. Gul Iffat, i found it was better to email her and she gets back to you right away. I met her when i did my interview in fairfax, VA through 319b and she was so nice! so was my IO :) she is really very understanding and considerate too!

hi! i know you're anxious about being able to find an answer, but i read a suggestion from a previous poster of an older thread, you can read it here: http://www.visajourn...any-definition/

anyway, as one member had suggested, have you tried doing an infopass so you can get a better answer if USCIS considers your company a US-based one? if you don't know what an infopass is, it is being able to go to your local office to talk to a representative there in person; you can google it and be able to find the website as you will have to set an appointment online and bring the copy of that appointment letter on the day of your appointment :)
