IRS Tax information (photocopy or IRS Tax Return Transcript) - 1 year is required, up to 3 years may help.
So would I order 2010, 2011 and 2012?
Tax Return Transcripts, optional but may help. The I-864 form requires a "Tax Return Transcript" and not a "Tax Account Transcript." The transcripts can be order for free by one of the following methods:
Fill out the form 4506-T and mail it to IRS
Or request the transcripts on the phone by calling IRS at 1 (800) 829-1040.
Or request the transcript online at IRS - Order a transcript. The information you need to order the transcript online includes: Social Security Number, Date of Birth, Street Address and Zip / Postal Code.
I ordered them offline do I still have to fill the 4506-T out?
W-2s and/or 1099s (are these required? if so where can i obtain these?)
1040 from most recent tax year (are these required? wouldn't that be the 2012 1040? --confused)
Pay stubs for current year (6 months should do) (Im unemployed is it okay with my co-sponsors pay stubs?)
Employment letter showing your income and position. (How can my co-sponsor get one of these? Does she just simply ask her boss or manager?)
Make sure that position/title is consistent on all forms. (on all forms from her job? Or all forms with her job and the I-864 as well?)


Another thing, my co-sponsor gets social security checks thats part of her income how do we add that into her I-864 form?

The docs not in English don't have to be translated as long as they are in Spanish in your case. Although some people would recommend to have them translated anyway. I just sent the translations with the docs I had already had done when I sent everything to USCIS.

It it states photocopy then they only need a photocopy. Otherwise they want the original or certified copy with a photocopy.

Your list looks good.

I also sent additional evidence with my DS230 so that they would forward it all to the embassy for the officer to review prior to the interview.


Thank you, and yes it would be in Spanish. But would it slow down the process if it werent in english? Ima paranoid person and if its not to the "T" i get nervous like it will be slowed or denied in some way.

Would it be best to just translate it? (id hate to do it again cos its 30 bucks a translate!)

i found this by reading on the forum but where exactly do i read to get this information? ( i wanna read more about it but i have no idea where to look ive been searching!)

- Completed, signed, and dated DS-230 form by beneficiary (do NOT sign or date part 2; this is done at the interview)
- Two passport-style photographs (2" x 2") of beneficiary (on the back, write: beneficiary's full name, date of birth, and case number)
- Copy of bio-data page of beneficiary's unexpired passport
- Original or Certified Copy of beneficiary's birth certificate, PLUS A PHOTOCOPY
- Original or Certified Copy of marriage certificate, PLUS A PHOTOCOPY
- Original police certificate, copy
- Original court record certificate, copy
Certificates not in english need to be translated.

Where it says plus a photocopy? Do i send a photocopy or the original? or both? Also, what is the court record certificate?

24b - you wouldn't put your mom because shes not in your household, your household count should be 2 you and your spouse unless you have kids.
24c - would be 0 because you have no income.
d & e - are left blank.


so really you only missed the 0 for 24c on that section of the form.

Heres the example form from VJ showing a person filing 864, only diff is they have income in the income lines http://www.visajourn...-Form-I-864.pdf .
Your sponsor would fill out 864 stating they are the joint sponsor.

So im checking out the i-864 that ive filled out and i totally skipped over a part. Im alittle confused with it, because im a college student, and i live with my mom, I have a cosponsor for this reason, and this is what it says

24a. Since im in college im not working, so i dont have an "annual income".
24b. With that being said, do i have to put my mom down even though shes not my cosponsor?
24c. what do i put there then?
24d. Who would i put? my co-sponsor isn't living in my house?
24e. ??

GandA5510, Did you call NVC today? Our cases arrived the same day to NVC. Mine was assigned last Friday, Feb 1st. You should have got yours.

I sent it in from my husbands email, i got an automated email after sending it, but in haven't received anything else, Do i need to call the NVC to see if it was excepted?

congrats! judging from when you got your NOA 2 and from when NVC received you packet, I'd assume they are scanning in mid January NOA2ers which means I'm still about a week and a half away. That won't keep me from calling every day though! :-)Good luck on the rest of your journey!

If you make enough money to sponsor applicant then you fill out I 864ez. If you don't make enough money to meet poverty guide line (125%) then you need a cosponsor. In that case you and cosponsor fill out I 864 form.

Whats the difference? I was reading the payment portal and i ended up on this page and i was reading, and i read that i need to fill out the i-864EZ? Can i just fill the I-864 out? (im probably making this harder than it is, but ive already printed the I-864 form assuming thats the one i fill out.

you both do the i-864 form, unless your cosponsor is a household individual, if its a household individual they need to fill out the i-864A form.

Just called NVC they gave me my case number and told me ill recieve a email in 3-4 business days or mail in 2-4 weeks. What's next what do I do with a case number?!


Since you have your case number, you can now send in your DS-3032 via email to the NVC email: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov: (from your SO's email, not yours. unless your the beneficiary) (if you want) and then log onto payment portal and use your case number and your IIN number (if you have it. Then you can pay the AOS.

They are your siblings, not your kids, so there is no issue there. If you didn't claim them in 2011, there should be no problem, they are no longer part of your household.

So i was just looking at my transcripts, and it shows that i claimed my brother and sister is 2010, even though i dont support them (long story short im paying back 4000+ from that mistake) anyways, i got to thinking, what if the NVC says that they are my kids, and they need proof that they aren't mine, and i take no responsibility for them financially. I also keep thinking, this may cause problems, for the 125% guidelines. What can i do (if they ask) to show they aren't my kids? (my brother and sister are 10 and 8, im 20. lol so they cant be mine!-- Not that its funny, but its pretty obvious. but just in case) any suggestions?

Check your spouse email account & see if they sent him the DS-3032 acceptance email. In my case, the day after that acceptance email, they sent me (the agent) the IV bill (invoiced).

I already checked and we havent got anything. only the automated response.
