Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 May 2012 Filers	They took the NOA1 from her at the biometrics - is THAT what is meant by the "extension letter"? I guess we will have to go the infopass route as you indicated. We will call them later when she can get on the phone to verify that (or if they can send an extension letter by mail). She got a new passport last month. Thanks gwdenton - are you from Texas? It's strange that they took the NOA1 at her bio appointment, she shouldn't have even needed to show them that, I didn't even bring mine when I went for my appointment. The NOA1 is the letter which states that the green card has been extended for a year, and you can use that for pretty much anything you'd normally need the green card for, including travel. You might have some trouble getting them to send another NOA1, from what I've read from a few other people they're pretty reluctant to do that, so you might be better off just making the infopass appointment and getting them to stamp her new passport. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 May 2012 Filers	ANOTHER USCIS snafu, or perhaps yours truly should have checked more carefully on VisaJourney. My wife went for the biometrics on June 27, but after she was done she said they only gave her an EVALUATION sheet. I was expecting some kind of document so she could travel. After calling USCIS today, I learned that she will have to call them back and they will send a certificate for a one-ear extension of her permanent residence to enable her to travel. I believe she should have got that at the biometrics - she told me she told them she was going to travel, but apparently they didn't understand what she was saying.... They don't provide anything stating your green card has been extended at the Bio appointment, that is what your NOA1 is for. The people your wife talked to at her Bio appointment probably assumed she'd already received the notice which provided information on the extension. If you didn't receive the NOA1 then you would have needed an infopass appointment specifically for getting a stamp in your passport for the 1 year extension.	gwdenton	Male	New Zealand	2012-07-17 13:19:00

I guess I could read the notice when I get home tonight to find the answer, but just wonder if someone can give me an answer now. I was reading the previous several posts and it seems like people are using the word "we" a lot when talking about the appointment. If my husband (how is the citizen) needs to go with me (who is the applicant), I'd better let him know as soon as possible so he can arrange his work around it! Thanks! Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 May 2012 Filers	Sorry, must not have been very clear. I'm NOT going to be travelling anywhere outside of the US for a long time. I'm basicaly asking, do I immediately become an illegal immigrant as soon as my GC expires if I don't have in my possesion my NOA1? Or am I okay since they have my ROC application and have cashed the cheque? You won't be "illegal" if you haven't received your NOA/extension letter as long as they've actually processed it, but i'll be harder to prove you're in the US legally if you need to. Thanks You can go on your own, they don't need anything but fingerprints and photos at this point. We sent ours on the May 11th and still haven' t gotten our NOA. While others have receives theirs in only a couple of days. The dates in the list are not the date the NOA was received, they're the date the NOA was generated. Also my friend got 10 yrs Green card within 3 months after bio-metrics. Thanks. As far as I'm aware they'll take your picture and fingerprints when you go for your appointment. Thanks, S. Umer You could get an RFE at any point before you're approved. After your Biometrics appointment you'll just need to wait until everything is processed, which could be 6+ months. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 May 2012 Filers	We sent our packet in last week to California. They signed for the package on Wednesday morning but the check has not yet cashed. How long does this usually take and should I be worried that it hasn't happened yet? Basically it's been 3.5 business days since they signed for it, with a weekend in between. We were very careful in the putting together of our packet and I can't imagine what would cause it to be rejected but I had hoped to see the check cashed by this morning. Is it too soon? Am I able to call and find out if there's a case number? CSC is currently taking up to two weeks to cash checks and send out NOAs, so at the moment there's nothing for you to worry about. If you called they'll tell you to wait. A case number to check your status online won't be issued until they schedule your Biometrics appointment. Thank you for help , how do we know when we get the NOA ? Mail , email , text ? I know we Submitted a few days early , maybe that's why it is taking longer and they have still not cashed the checks yet either. You'll receive your NOA by mail. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 May 2012 Filers	Hi Everyone and Fellow Filers! I just sent my I-751 package today. My GC expires on June 20, 2012... Does anybody know if USCIS sends you a letter confirming your ROC application is on going? I am asking because my driver's license expires on the date my GC expires, as well as my other pertinent papers, which covers work authorization and the likes. Obviously, the card production won't be until about few months or so. I am curious as to how does that work. Thank you! Ignore my timeline below it has not been updated. Currently applying for 10-year GC. CSC is currently processing I-751 from November '11 VSC is currently processing I-751 from July '11 Really? What's your source? At the moment based on NOAs being received. CSC does seem to be getting them out slower. I guess that doesn't mean they're processing the I-751s slower though. I sent my I-751 on Wednesday May 02,2012 by USPS priority mail and it was received on Friday May 04,2012. I am still waiting for NOA and check cashed as there is no progress as yet. I sent my package to CSC as I am from Chicago, IL. Kindly let me know for how long I need to wait for the next step. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 May 2012 Filers	@ Yurika & Jim I sent my package on April 30th, they receive it on may 2nd(I used priority mail). Today 5/7/12 I received NOA letter the date shown is 5/3/12. The letter indicates the one year extension and I should wait for biometric later. Does this mean I have been approved for the ROC or just indicating they are processing my request? Thanks in advance all and I wish all the best. The NOA just means that they are working on your ROC and that they will send you a date for your biometrics soon. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 May 2012 Filers	My GC expires 05/14/12. I sent my I-751 to the CSC on 04/25 but they only just received it today. Included: I-751 signed by both my Wife and I $590 payment Copy of GC (front/back) Joint tax returns 2010/2011 Copy of joint lease Copy of join renters insurance policy Copies of joint medical insurance cards showing joint policy Copies of joint dental insurance cards showing joint policy Copies of Target Credit Card showing joint account. Utility bills in both names to the same address Copy of AirNZ itinerary from Feb-Mar 2012 trip back to New Zealand Various photos of my Wife and I over the last couple of years. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Preparing for the next step after NOA2	I may just be completely bum-fuzzled...lol..but I would like to know on the past 3 years showing my Tax Returns ..I Have always had prepared on my computer via TurboTax can I use those copies to mail to my fiance or Do I actually need to Request Transcripts from the IRS?? We've mailed our packed 3 since early April and we still don't have an interview!!! Congrats btw I believe London is currently very quickly processing packet 3's and everyone I have seen has gotten interview dates around the same timeline as I did. I think it depends on the consulate. Good luck with a speedy date, soon!! I was looking at your timeline nice how did you get your NOA2 so quickly? We actually didn't get it fast at all, it took us almost the entire alloted 5 months! We were hoping for sooner the whole time! Nick's visa was approved this morning in London, even with his two small crimes on his record. We were extremely nervous but it was a very smooth process. United Kingdom	UK posts being made invisible	What I am thinking is that when a post is set invisible (like can be done now) a place holder is put in its place that indicates that the text has been hidden versus totally not being visible. In place of the original message text would be a notice that it was removed by an admin/mod and possibly a reason. Captain Ewok, I believe that is what has always been done in the pre-moderator days. I remember many times when you had edited posts and typed something like " I love pizza". Then you signed it, so people knew it was removed per TOS violation, and knew that you did it. Problem now is, all the mods are "anonymous", so no one knows who is reading or deleting, and no reason is given for deleted posts. If the mods feel compelled to edit a post, I think a reason should be given, and we should know who performed the edit. It may eliminate some of the "####### just happened?" posts. Just my input, since you we're asking for suggestions. Party pooper, we were discussing hats, here. Yeah, I don't see why that's not possible currently. But I do see where Ewok's coming from, knowing what happened with the previous batch of mods a few years back. But you have to realize, VJ is a different place and our mods now are different peeps, Captain. I'm not for making posts invisible; it's just confusing when, as someone who isn't on here 24/7, catching up with a thread and then having to read two other threads to find out what the heck's going on.
