My parents are originally from Turkey, but my siblings and I were born in Belgium. They often visit relatives in Turkey during the summer vacation period. The younger sister I was talking about has pretty much been all around the world.


Are those your family's hajj pictures? Lucky them! Also, cute cute clothes. Turkish sisters always seem to have such a great fashion sense (I know, massive stereotype).


Mostly just my sister and her friends from school. She's part of uh I can't think of the name (Something -Nur-) but they have like a muslim school in Antwerp, Belgium and she teaches the younger students there about Islam. Right now, she's working on her Master's in Public Relations though and last time we talked, she mentioned she scored an internship at a Turkish broadcasting company in Istanbul. Lucky her :P I'm so proud of her :star:

I have not been posting much lately, there is so much going on now that keeps me away from the computer. My sister is is hospitalized with failing kidneys. My son had surgery Friday and is not feeling well. My daughters best friends mother is hospitilized with flesh eating stuff and is in ICU and between all of them and work, I am spread thin. I hate to even hear the phone ring.

But you do need to stick with this decision. After he either kills you or moves on, he will continue this. If you cannot do this for yourself, do it for other women. You can have him sent back I am fairly sure... use the current difficulties in immigration to your best advantage. Then, unlike American women with American abusers you can rest a bit easier, knowing you sent him back where he was happy but also? Where he is FAR, FAR away from you. This will not go away. And in the end, this will take you months and months to put behind you, maybe longer than the process took itself, maybe longer than you knew him for... but you will feel better during this time eventually, and you will learn to put it behind you. You won't feel like this forever.

Pi?maniye (Turkish) or floss halva is a traditional sweetmeat, prepared in Kocaeli, Turkey, made by flossing thin strands of halva into a light confection. Mines expires end of June and I will file sometime next week but my work is very strick with immigration compliance and is already asking me what am I going to do because my GC expires soon.

The NOA letter will tell you that your GC has been extended for a year, and will be the proof of the extension if needed. They will generally start the 1 year extension the day they receive your I-751 package, but you may not get the NOA for a week or two after.

There's no need to have a binder for your documents, my understanding is that when your documents are opened, they take it apart and file it differently. All I did was put in a few posted-it notes for the different sections and used a large clip to hold it together (no staples). Good luck!

It will slow you down some what because the FBI name check search will produce a hit and then they have to manually follow up to get your info to USCIS. But once they confirm that you are not the bad guy it should go fine.

It's not immigration's job to investigate. It is the police's job (FBI, local, and state police). They will probably not slow anything down. There is nothing to look into further if you have no criminal record.

Hi,

I'm currently working for a fairly small company with around 25 employees, and in the last week the company was raided by the FBI after a year long investigation because one of my co-workers was arrested for an extremely despicable crime that I'm not really able to go in to. The FBI informed us that all employees were also investigated to determine whether there was any other involvement in the crimes that were committed.

So, my question is, will this affect my current removal of conditions petition that I've submitted, and was hoping to get a response to in the next couple of weeks? I'm assuming, considering I had no part in the crime that was committed it may just be an extra piece of information that may be provided to the USCIS, but that it may slow down the processing of my case somewhat.

They took the NOA1 from her at the biometrics - is THAT what is meant by the "extension letter"?
I guess we will have to go the infopass route as you indicated.
We will call them later when she can get on the phone to verify that (or if they can send an extension letter by mail).

She got a new passport last month.

It's strange that they took the NOA1 at her bio appointment, she shouldn't have even needed to show them that, I didn't even bring mine when I went for my appointment. The NOA1 is the letter which states that the green card has been extended for a year, and you can use that for pretty much anything you'd normally need the green card for, including travel.

You might have some trouble getting them to send another NOA1, from what I've read from a few other people they're pretty reluctant to do that, so you might be better off just making the infopass appointment and getting them to stamp her new passport.
