ak205-My case won't be complete for another few months at least. I still have to get a co-sponsor (I have to wait for the 1st one to tell me that they can't (waiting on them to receive tax documents in the mail)/won't do it) and then I am still waiting on my husband's papers (which will be anywhere from a month to a month and a half. That is what is left for me. All of the fess are paid. This is why I believe that I will be in NVC groups will all of you at least once. There is no gettin' rid of me :P.

John- They e-mailed back saying the correct names and they will reflect in their data system. So I wrote and asked if I would be receiving a new NOA1 to which I received an e-mail saying: "A duplicate copy of Form I-797 Receipt Notice was mailed to the address of record. Please allow 10-15 days for mailing." Which is why I called after that time had passed because I never received another NOA1. That is when they told me that they weren't going to send me another one and that the information was correct in their system.

Jay- You didn't have your daughter registered as a USC at the embassy in Manila did you?

John- I thought you were going to go in October. How nice that they used me as a test dummy. I had to wait much longer than 30 days to get that stupid e-mail. :P.

John, are you referring to the "Get up you lazy bum! What are you doing sleeping at 3 a.m.? You are now approved. Have fun sleepin now sucka!" texts? :P.

I just got suppppppppppper confused . I was looking at the CR1's but the I-129's instead of the I-130's and saw a list of new approvals and wondered who the heck those people were and how on earth did they get an NOA1 of June 6th and NOA2 of June 26th. I was about to be mad. Then I realized that I was looking at the wrong thing. Whoops! . Looks like Mommy needs a nap :).

kapad- Yes, you call the NVC after you get your NOA2 to receive your case number. It usually takes 7 calendar days to get a case number, but you can always try before that if you'd like. You can e-mail the DS3032 to NVC after you have your case number (this is the only special number that they need). You should be coming up soon for your NOA2. Don't give up hope quite yet! Anything seems to be possible with them but for the most part, they seem to be going in order of First in, First Out. Touches don't always mean something special. My case wasn't touched right before I got my approval. I hope you will hear good news this week or next week!

Indigo, you seem a little all over the place  (posting in here about freaking out over the time lines then posting in the main forum that these months have gone by smooth). Would you like to talk about it? I know this process is frustrating to all of us. Waiting for things to happen that you have no control over is super sucky. At least USCIS seems to be getting a little better at giving us some good news here and there.

Chris&Cecil, I know you asked the question to March2010, but you should've been able to get your case number on the 24th. It should be there waiting for you (unless they have slowed down or something...which I hope is not the case).

Mine was 7 days as well. You can always call before then but don't expect to have anything before then. Go ahead and ask as many questions as you need. There is no point of getting an RFE if we cover everyone's bases. Most of the process is pretty straight forward but the wording is weird on some of the questions in both packets.

As for the biometrics appt, I think on the website it would show up as your circle being in the "testing and review" area but I'm not sure. You'd think that they would let you know on the main screen with "On June....USCIS sent a biometrics appt letter out" or something like that.

pony1076, I think they will tell you that your case is still within the normal processing times (For them, that means 5 months as opposed to VJ's quicker estimates). Unless you really want to answer 1000000 question that have nothing to do with your case and listen to what is printed directly in your NOA1, I wouldn't bother. It is usually more of a hassle than it is worth to call them, unless you really need something (even then you half to pull teeth some times). Hopefully they will just send you the good news on Monday or Tuesday and stop the wondering of when it will arrive. Best of luck!

Pru,

NVC goes fast if you are all prepared. There are parts that go slower and make it seem like USCIS but 1 month compared to up to 6 months is a big difference. Just quadruple check everything that you are going to send in. They are very picky whereas USCIS isn't so picky.

Congrats Pru! You weren't in our thread for very long before you got approved. I'm sure you are super happy to be done with the USCIS for a little bit. Good luck on the NVC stage.

Looks like we have some people showing up from before on here. Cool. Welcome back. Hope to hear more good news next week. This week ended nicely for Marchers!

Awww, thanks March2010. Last time I created a thread, no one went to it. June First took this thread from me (posted it in the section that I didn't post mine) but I seem to have taken it back :P I hope she is alright where ever she is. Maybe I will give it a few more days before I set up shop in a July NVC thread.

As for myself, I got some good-ish news today from my husband. Monday will reconfirm the news or smash it into smithereens just like every other time things seem to be looking up. If the good news is true, it should be all good on his side in about a month. Perhaps we will make a November interview!

I think that as long as you can get it set straight with NVC, it won't that much. USCIS is a little slow at best with dealing with missing names on NOA1's. No need to worry about that right now. Just focusing on getting the treasured NOA2 and sailing through NVC.

March 2010, I don't know when you asked for them to send you the papers but you have about a week or so (depending on when you get your case number) to wait for the NVC case number and then the bill to show up and then for it to register as paid. C'mon more good news for March filers today!!!!

March2010,

I have heard that they do it right then. I got all the way to "are you a the fax machine right now?" and then when I said no, the guy told me that they can't send it without me verifying that I receive the fax. So, my guess would be instantaneously. The wait to speak to a representative is 10-20 minutes.

Pru, sorry to hear that. I would look at the time lines of those that are receiving NOA2's. It looks like they are on March 2nd NOA1 dates right now. So you should be coming up next week.

To have the the transcripts faxed to you, you have be at the fax machine while on the phone with them. They won't fax it to you if you aren't there to receive it.

I'm calling to get my tax transcripts right now. Just need to see if I can be sneaky or not :P. If you want them mailed to you, all you have to do is give your SSN and address (numbers on your house only). any stalker could do that. The only thing is that you can't specify where you want them to be sent. For faxing (which I'm in hold for right now) says name, DOB, SSN, address on your returns, and filing status. I will ask if you can call on behalf of your spouse or not.

Chris& Cecil, good story. You should be all set to smooth sail through NVC soon (assuming that you have all of your papers in order :P)! I was awoken (literally) by my possible AOSer telling me how to get the info I need. Too bad she always forgets the time difference and first called at 6:56 a.m. :bonk: (my time and no one answered). Sorry fam! *Yawn!!!!! Hopefully this will all be good news!

I'm sorry to hear about your children. That is terrible (the whole thing)! I'm guessing that you just filed for your wife and not your children since they are already USC's. I hope that saves you some time and stress of not having to deal with more than one petition. Sorry that you weren't able to put in an expedite request to USCIS. Here's to a speedy NOA2 for you and everyone else.

I agree that this site is good for stress relief! Also practicing your dancing skills :).

Congrats again Chris&Cecil!!!! How did you share the news? Screaming over the phone? Online typing so fast that your fingers failed you? If everything is in order, you could possibly have a September interview! How awesome!!!! You are one step closer to being done....yay!!!!

Tom, I put those lines because they popped in to my silly little head. Everyone needs a little pick me up from Queen. We should all gather together at the end of our interviews and sing "We are the Champions" loudly :). My good news is just news until I can confirm it as being good. I will call my husband tomorrow and see if he answers.

Ok, c'mon more good news!!!! Who will I assault next with my swinging around in circles/happy dance and congrats on here?
