As for the biometrics, they will contact you if you need to go do that. The automatically do biometrics at the interview and at the POE (for foreign). I was never contacted about doing biometrics.

Tom, looks like it is time to invite more people to go kayaking. We should really all go on a kayaking trip after we get our spouses here. Fun and healthy.

Thanks for that March2010. that will be helpful for everyone. That March 9th approval was May 26th. I wouldn't take that as a sign that March 9th and so on are getting approved right now, but rather the 3 or 4 March 1st that have been approved recently as a sign of more or less where they are. Thanks for the relaxation tips hunniraine!

I believe some one misspoke here and confused everyone. There were some approvals after the date of March 1st but not recently. As far as is updated, the current approvals are lingering around March 1st.

I now officially "love" the post office. They just called for a follow up on my missing priority mail, "They tell you 2-3 days but isn't guaranteed. You might just have to be a little more patient." Ummm ok...2 weeks for get across the country for a service that you pay extra for.... :bonk: Patient my behind. Thank good I did not send orginal documents. :ranting: I think I'm going to have to reprint it out and sent it regular mail. Who wants to bet it will get there before the supposed priority mail...I'm not paying for the packet to go FedEx because I know the answer on the other end is no, so why pay that much for a crummy answer?

If you look at the last 15 approved carefully, the March 10th refers to when they received their NOA2, not the NOA1 date. :(.

Indigo, perhaps if I made more than $6,000 a year, I would be able to do things like that. Every small part helps no matter what it is.

Sounds like you are a big hit everywhere Tom. At least we aren't callous to the obvious plights of people in other countries.

What I meant by acting locally is something like joining a grassroots org or gathering a bunch of resources to make a big contribution. Every little thing counts but if you can get a whole group to give a country a shot in the arm that makes a nice impact as well. Of course it takes a mixture of time and money to help other's out. Some times the time is more valuable than the money. Just depends on the sitch.

Indigo, I have taken my butt to Latin America and done a small but very small contribution (I handed out baggies with toothbrushes and toothpaste and a little MCD's toy in them). My husband and I always give to the kids or trade candies with them because everyone likes to sell mint flavored gum and just mint candies so we trade with them for other candies or we will give them some candies if we have 10 already. My husband likes to have an actual conversation with them and find out how they are doing and where they are from. The kids are mostly scared of me because I am white as snow but once he starts talking to them, they warm up to me. :). One of the best times I think that we had helping a child was when we actually went to the rich area of town (my husband is from one of the poor areas) and we went to eat at a restaurant. They don't let the children "bother" their customers (what a better place than to go where people actually have money or could help out). But we finished out meal and were trying to talk to the girl as the waitress was shooing her off. We gave her some (untouched) leftovers right under the waitresses nose. Since I'm white, the waitress didn't say anything. How on earth could you refuse a child a meal? That was just mind blowing. I always feel bad that I can't do more to help out financially. Last time I was there, I spent a lot of time inside so I didn't get to help out anyone very much. It is very heartbreaking to see children wandering around at all hours of the night with no place to go and hardly a stitch of clothing on.

Oh, as far as what payment the NVC accepts, for the online payment portal:

http://travel.state..../info_3906.html

There is an "alternate" payment option that can be clicked as well:

And no, I still haven't heard anything about the arrival of my AOS package to the possible co-sponsor. Nor has the NVC chosen to decline my payment error :)/:(. Oh well.

I had a dream last night that I got on VJ and saw approval after approval. Either I am on here too much :) or something is going to happen soon :P. Ok, so both are true but I found it interesting that I had that dream.

Boldee, on the USCIS website, it will say "On March...2010 USCIS," and then some other bunch of words. The date that is on that blue USCIS screen is your NOA1 date.

C'mon good news USCIS!

Tena- yeah. We all go off topic. Maybe some one will distract us for a minute or two. Don't be afraid to throw some ideas out. I have been shot down before and am still here :).

Tom-It is that way in many countries around the world. You help out your family until you have nothing left to give (literally). Before I ever met my husband, I said to myself and to some friends that I want to raise my child in a foreign country so that they can know what it is like to have and have not for real and then they can compare that to the U.S. and base their opinions of things. I grew up as being a not-have-so-mucher here and I have learned a lot from that. Your life is richer when you realize the real value of possessions and people. Richness comes from much more than a $ sign. My husband doesn't feel like he is rich at all because of his surroundings and upbringing and from the outside he isn't very rich at all, but I tell him and his family that they are some of the richest people I know because of the monetary things that they lack. I wish I could "save the world" but I need to start smaller than that to be able to do any good. Anyway...you with your thinking and wisdom...

OK USCIS, I just found a new set of emoticons on here to describe the emotions you invoke:
:wow: :girlwerewolf2xn: :diablo:  :clock: :ranting: :protest:
Obviously not in that order.

As well as: :crying:  :help: :bonk:     :(

Do any of your spouses not speak English like my husband or am I the only one? I know it will be a hard task even for those who speak English. As well as KcBrand1, my husband has never been on a plane. He is a little worried about that although he thinks he can take our daughter on the plane himself.... I told him he is crazy. It is hard knowing the language, I can't even imagine not speaking English and coming with a child alone...very sweet though. I'm really hoping that I can surprise him at the POE airport and either fly the last legs with him or just drive him home from there. That all depends on when the interview is and blah blah blah. My husband is from Lima and thinks that he knows what cold is. He has never been in snow either.

Tom, you are rich!!!! I think all Americans are viewed as rich in poorer countries because we have more money than the locals. In your case, you have a lot more than I do...so I will call you rich as well.

Did any of your sposes inflict interesting local ideas on you? Things that you found weird/go against our way of thinking in the U.S.?

Thanks for the idea Divina.

C'mon...USCIS...don't make me send the lovely poem from Senior! we could translate the peom on here to other languages to for a great representation of all who are waiting. We would have: Hindi, English, Tagalog (or local dialect from those from the PI), Spanish, Arabic, I think Boldee or LADYDARE if she drops by could give us a Nigerian spin (depending on the local dialect used), and which ever other languages out lovely Marchers speak...ohhh. Here is another NVC don't do tip: If you make a mistake in the payment portal, don't call NVC and wait for 20 minutes for an operator to assist you. They just tell you that you have to wait for the payment to be rejected. I thought maybe they'd be able to help me. Guess not!

There has to be some approvals this week!!!! Thanks Totosan. I can be the guide of "How not to do the NVC". For example, I input the wrong info into the payment portal :bonk: so now I have to wait until they tell me it is wrong, so I can redo it.. Stupid mistake. Oh well, I'm still waiting for everything else to fall into place so no big deal here. For those of you already to fly through NVC, don't make the same mistake. It'd be easier if you could pay with your card but they won't let you so you have to enter your routing number and the account number (found on your checks...which I don't have). So today I have to call and get that number from my bank as well as call the USPS mail service and figure out where the heck my AOS package that I sent to my possible co-sponsor went. I sent it on the 1st and it is still not there....knowing this, I can't believe I ever sent my I-130 petition by mail. all of NVC packages will be sent FedEx or UPS for sure!!!!

JinyAndJony, thank for joining us. If you read through the LingChe guide link, it will tell you that you don't really have to wait for anything to get to you in the mail. For the DS3032, you can send that off as soon as they send the DS3032 e-mail to you. They will do this a few days after you have been assigned a NVC case number. The other forms like the I-864 and DS230 can be mailed out by you or your wife (after the 1st page and 1st page ONLY is signed by the foreign spouse...the 2nd page must be signed in front of an officer at the interview at your consulate) after you have paid the respective bills and printed the sheet that shows that you paid (which will be on the website that is referred to on here as the "payment portal"). The Jesal, New Dehli (if you haven't read Amit N Melody's post) is really quick at giving out "give me more info" documents at the interview stage and putting you through AP.

Tom, I thought I had read all of it but my darling 14 1/2 month old was fussy so I sent it and put her to sleep and then realized my error. When I "edited" all if it, I got this message, "You are not allowed to edit this information." Who is allowed???? I will just have to hope that you don't come stalk me. Hey, as far as the case info goes, if you want to go pay my $400 IV bill next week, BE MY GUEST! I had requested him to get the police and other 2 certificates a few months back but we had a hiccup and it didn't happen. Now he is working on this but we had another hiccup. He is good at following my requests for the most part. I don't e-mail him very often because he never reads the e-mail. I guess I should start e-mailing him again and just go in and make it look read :P.

Also, is anyone who knows what Senior's poem says going to tell the rest of us?!?!?! I'd like to know...PLEASE :help:. For those of you that read through the junk that I posted from the e-mails I received, was any of that info helpful or should I just keep it all to myself next time?

Information about the DS-3032
Choice of Agent and Address Form
Unless an adjustment of status in the United States is requested, after approving an immigrant visa
petition filed in the United States, the U.S Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), forwards it to
the National Visa Center (NVC) where the State Department's immigrant visa process begins. If the
petition is for a visa applicant whose priority date is not likely to be reached in the next year, the petition
will be stored at the NVC until that priority date is reached.
When there is an immediate visa available or likely to be available within the next nine months, NVC
will send a letter enclosing the Choice of Agent and Address Form (DS-3032) to all of the applicants
with a few exceptions. The DS-3032 will not be sent to the applicant when an attorney represents the
applicant (and the USCIS file contains the appropriate designation that an attorney has been retained) or
when the visa applicant will be the adopted child of the petitioner.
The DS-3032 permits the applicant to name an agent to receive correspondence from NVC and requires
applicants still interested in immigrating to tell NVC where to send mail about their visa request. The
letter tells the applicant that they may choose someone, including the petitioner or a non-profit
organization, to be their agent or they may elect to continue to receive the correspondence themselves.
The applicant must complete and sign the DS-3032 and return it to the NVC before processing can
continue. Given the difficulties often encountered with international mail, we encourage applicants to
seek an agent with a U.S. postal address.
So that you, as the petitioner, can understand any questions that the applicant may have about the
DS-3032, we have enclosed a copy of it for you. While only the applicant can sign the DS-3032, you
may send or fax a copy of the enclosed form to the applicant, if you learn that he or she has not received
it. The applicant can then complete, sign, and return the DS-3032 to NVC. The mailing address for the
DS-3032 is:
National Visa Center
Attention ACL
31 Rochester Ave., Suite 200
Portsmouth, NH 03801
For more information about the State Department's immigrant visa process, please visit the Department
of State website at www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov. Or you can contact NVC as shown on the following

Dear CUELLAR WELCH, ALIX MARIE:

National Visa Center (NVC) for processing. Our records indicate that the current address of the principal
applicant is:
V. O. C. L.
HIS ADDRESS
If this address is not correct, send the correct address to the National Visa Center (NVC) immediately.
You must pay the Affidavit of Support (AOS) fee ($70.00) before we can begin processing your petition.
Payment Instructions:
1. DO NOT send fee payments to the National Visa Center's Portsmouth, New Hampshire facility.
This will DELAY procesing of the visa petition.
2. Go to www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov and click the "Fee Collection" link, then the "Online
Payment" link, and then follow the instructions displayed.
3. Three days after making your online payment, you must:
a. Return to the Online Payment website to view your payment receipt, which will give you
instructions for the next step. You can print a copy for your records. DO NOT send a copy to
the NVC.
b. Print a "Document Cover Sheet" for each fee paid, or save a PDF copy to print later.
c. Go back to the receipt page and click the "Go to Affidavit of Support Processing Instructions"
link.

Payers who are unable to pay online must follow alternative payment instructions. Go to
www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov and click the "Fee Collection" link, then the "Alternative Payment
Method" link, and then follow the directions displayed.
Important Notes:
1. If the applicant intends to adjust status with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
(USCIS), please contact the NVC before making any payments or taking further action.
2. If a period of one year passes without communication to the NVC, all documents and fees expire
and must be resubmitted to resume the immigration process.
3. Children who pass 21 years of age after the petition was originally approved by the USCIS become
ineligible to accompany or join the applicant(s) immigrating to the United States under the original
petition. In some situations, the Child Status Protection Act (CSPA) may allow children to remain
eligible beyond 21 years of age. If you believe that the CSPA applies to this case, please send a
detailed explanation to the NVC. We will forward it to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General for a
decision.
Sincerely,
Director
National Visa Center

That is one page.
