Since I don't know what I'm looking for nor the details of your case, you might be able to get something helpful out of this site or by also looking at this site:

If neither of those help, sorry.

Huh. You could probably find someone who has done a J1 before and ask them. Why would they have issued her a B2 is she had a 2 year in country residency requirement. They broke their own rules. Hopefully that won't be an issue for you.

Oh also just to make sure it was real, I went to the USCIS website and saw that the blue dot had changed from "Initial Review" to "Post Decision Activity". Then I lloked at my portfolio and it showed a touch for June 3rd.

Yay to Sweetcheeksss! So about two weeks. I finally got through 30 mins ago. I was caught off guard. They don't have my case yet :P. Slackers!!!!

Josh...you caught me off guard when you used my given name instead of Teya. It was like you knew me in person or something (yes, I know I posted it on here earlier today but still....). My heart rate didn't go up much. I saw the e-mail from USCIS and thought that it couldn't be real. Good thing no one was in the store at the time because I said out loud, "What? No. What? No, this can't be." Then when I open it I made some noises and had that look of "OMG" on my face and had a hard time calming down for a minute. I know it would've been longer if I were at home instead of at work...where people come in and expect me to act normal. :P. I'm sure that if I can get a hold of my husband tonight, we will be happy together for longer than half a min.

Ankit, I know you don't know everything but it is nice to have a support group to bounce ideas off of. Nothing against the current June NVC group, but I feel like a kindergartener thrown in with some senior in high school. I'm afraid of what they will think of my questions. No one has extended the olive branch yet. I just want to go back to PRESCHOOL!!!!!!

Totosan,

Thanks for the congrats! I have a 14 month old daughter and my husband hasn't seen her since she was 3 1/2 months. As you know....they change all of the time. He has missed a lot!!!! I just sent out my packet to my AOSer on Tuesday. It took me so long to do the packet because I had to translate...which meant going through the 16 pages of the I-864 and picking what needed to be translated. This is going to my husband's uncle (who's wife told me that he would do it). The fact that it needed to be translated makes me wonder a little bit. Also the lack of communication between the wife and husband leaves me wondering. If they can't do it or won't do it...I might be sunk. Part of me wonder's if my super back up (hope I never have to ask them) co-sponsor will come in and save me. Without a sponsor, my daughter and I will be packing up and heading on down to Peru for good.

I prepped as much of the paperwork as I could. I still have many blanks to fill in. If your sister makes enough past the guideline for 2009 (since they haven't changed it yet for the 2010 year), you should be fine. Your approval shouldn't be too far behind.

I read the LingChe a long time ago and thought, "Jeez....that looks so easy. How does anyone get caught up in NVC?"

Well, when you get that NOA2, your brain falls out of your head and you start to panic and things don't make sense anymore.

A whole new process has begun and everything you knew to expect and wait for has changed. NVC only deals with you through e-mail. The phone number for them is busy all the time (but they are available 24/7) unlike USCIS.

I almost think NVC is worse than USCIS because while you have to send more things in for NVC (hence you actually get to do something instead of sit like a bump on a log), you are waiting on USCIS to send your case to NVC, NVC to not have a busy signal on the phone, NVC to e-mail you telling you to send the DS3032, NVC updating that they received your info, moving to the next step, waiting for NVC to update your info, and so on and so on. Just more waiting...but all at different times instead of just one chunk of waiting (which you know will happen anyway).

It might feel something like the initial wait for the NOA1. You knew it was coming but still you held your breath because some people got it in a week and some took longer.

After typing this, me thinks I need my Marchers to help get me through (and honorary Marcher Ankit). The June NVC seems to be full of people waiting for their SIF and CC's and interview dates instead of new people starting from the beginning.

Please come join me (I know, if it were up to you, you would all be done already!!!) :).

I can tell you all this much. They weren't kidding when they said that the NVC # is busy all of the time! It will be a number you will have down pat just because you have dialed it sooooooooo many times. There really is no reason for me to even start calling yet (except for that I did the same thing with my money order even though I knew I had a while to wait for that to be cashed) because it will take a week or 2 for them to have my case. Although, if the case # predictor is still accurate from the LingChe Shortcuts:

3. NVC Scans Package.

This marries the USCIS receipt number to your newly generated NVC number which is based on

EEEYYYYOOOSSS

* E = 3 digit embassy code (example TKY for Tokyo)

* Y = 4 digit code for year (example 2008)

* O= 3 digit code for Ordinal date plus 500

* Example I. Aug 28 = 241st ordinal day ADD 500 = 741

* Example II. 741 SUBTRACT 500 = 241st ordinal day (Aug. 28)

* S = Sequence number of the day (if you were the second approval scanned, your code would be 002)

Full Example of NVC case number = TKY2008741002

I have all but the last 3 numbers of my case # figured out. Since I have to wait for NVC to have my case, it wouldn't do me much good anyway.

I have (from before) the DS3032 e-mail format (http://www.visajourn...il_DS-3032_form) saved and will fill in the details once I have my case number. I will e-mail to my husband and have him e-mail that. I will also e-mail him a copy of the snail mail version to print of and sign and send to me, just in case the e-mail DS3032 doesn't get accepted.

So, for now I wait again. I will keep trying to call the NVC. Although, Sweetcheeksss has yet to be assigned a case # (last that I read) and she is a ways ahead of me.

-Input....too much detail? Too little detail?

Seriously....they always tell you to check there but no one thinks it will be there. Luckily I check that thing every day because I refuse to have FB comments sent to my inbox, so I let them go to junk and just check them there.

I am hoping (now that an officer confirmed it as being so) that this time my info is correct!!!!!!!

Thanks for the congrats Jesal.

It says, "Case Status Information for Receipt...". But since people send junk that so closely looks like something you have been waiting for....you never know. My husband will not be going to any girly bars with you Tom (or anyone else for that matter)!

John, I was totally counting on you handing over that cool grand. *Sigh. I should've known that you wouldn't be able to. Especially since I don't even know your real name. :).

Tom, I will keep my worrying with me forever. I have to always worry. I'd rather be pleasently surprised then caught off guard.

Of course I will still come visit! Like I said, I just need some extra (besides the 1,000 that John is floating me to go to Peru) money and I will be there. I will probably just borrow your kayak to float all of the documents into the NVC building to cause a scene. They will surely approve me right away and not look at anything. Or send me to jail. *Sigh. Maybe not a good idea then.

Well, now I am just waiting for the rest of the Marchers to chime in with their "I GOT MY NOA2's"!!!!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMarch 2010 CR1 filers
John...want to float me some money?!?!?! What? You don't...well...thought I would try anyway.

There is no way I will be done with NVC in July. Ok, ok, I know I was negative about when I would get my NOA2...but it kept me from ripping my hair out like some other people when day 20 came around and no news. I'm still thinking that December will be feasable for an interview. not that I will be sitting on my hindquarters until then...I just know how "quickly" my husband moves as well as how my I-864 sponsorship will play out. No need to be optimistic when my ducks are just being alerted to wake up and get in a row! I did (sillily) let myself think of how if it only took 1 month to get through NVC (so July) then I would make the August date for September interview dates. SEPTEMBER!!!!!!! Gah!!!! That would be fan-frickin-tastic but not so do-able.for.me. Perhaphs someone else in our group will have a Sept. interview.

It almost looks like junk too. It just says, "USCIS" as the sender. I never would've thought it would be there because when I had e-mailed them before regarding my messed up names on my NOA1, the e-mails went to my Inbox. :P

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR PUTTING ME 1ST ON YOUR LISTS. SORRY I DIDN'T BELIEVE YOU ALL.

HOPEFULLY YOU WILL ALL GET YOUR APPROVALS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON SO WE CAN STAY TOGETHER IN THE JUNE NVC....HOLY MOLY...THAT DOESN'T EVEN SEEM POSSIBLE. I'M AT WORK RIGHT NOW SO I CAN'T LET MY HUSBAND KNOW UNTIL I GET OFF THIS AFTERNNON.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS OF NVC????? GAH....I'VE LOST MY MIND (WHAT LITTLE WAS LEFT). I WON'T ABANDON THE REST OF YOU ALL. I KNOW WE WILL BE CONNECTED HERE SOON.

HOW CAN I WORK WITH NEWS LIKE THIS? GOOD THING NO ONE EVER COMES IN :P.

90-110 days would be nice if that is the case for all of us. Pushbrk does say that some cases take longer though. Some of us are past the 90 day mark and by those estimates should see something soon. Only time will tell.

Totosan, how old is your daughter? Sorry you haven't been able to see them for a long time. I know how that is. Or I should say, my husband knows how that is.

Maybe someone will have some news today!

I just want to thank you Tom for your post. As soon as I read "My wife called me," my husband called me. Which is always a nice surprise. You didn't know the country code?

I'm glad to hear that you enjoy your little corner of the world.

As for calling someone, they would just laugh at you (not to your face but once you hung up). Our NOA2's will come eventually.

I have been kayaking once. If you can call it that. I was in a kayak in a small body of water. It as fun but a while ago. Since you have an acre, we should all meet up at the end of the journey and have a camp out/cookout with the new LPR's. Show them a good wholesome time. Sounds fun to me. I just invited a bunch of people over Tom, I hope you don't mind. :P.

It has been a great night so far. I can't see it going very south from here. I'm just enjoying my time with my cuddle bunny.

About posting pictures....you sure can post pictures. Or, if you have a Facebook or something like that, we could go visit you on there.

Have a great rest of your night everyone!

I haven't used any other sites Anthony. I guess because I have seen so much information on this one and this site was recommended to me. I find this more of a place full of knowledge instead of a place with people who just say stuff. I usually forget that this site is a public board and not really a site of USCIS and NVC people. :).

Thanks for the luck Anthony. I will need it! Good luck to you as well.

I tend to think I will never get approved so people ho think I am next, better hope not...since I think I am last :P.

John...you can mos def join the kayaking group. You are in NJ and I am in NE. Tom is in Tennessee...sooooo....we are a little spread out. All we need to do...is have gobs of extra money lying around and make a trip that our spouses would be ok with (mainly mine since you 2 are fellers and I am not) and then be on our merry way. I know there is no way that I will be able to stop checking and posting. It does pass the time though. The Memorial Day week end stopped me from checking for a few hours (my fam invited me along to the park, so I went). *Sigh. We will all be through here soon and into NVC and be wishing it were as easy as waiting for an NOA2 :P.

I think I'm starting to get silly and hopeful. People around my time line are getting approved. maybe I should just not check my computer or any computer for a week. Hahahahaa. That was a good read Tom. Thanks. I'm pretty sure (about 99.5%) that my AOSer will fail me. I'm not too worried about the process. It would be futile anyway. I have 2 options...stay here or move there. I will be ready for both. Life is good.

Not unless $1000 falls out of the sky. Here are my options for seeing him next: He comes here, Christmas comes and no interview yet (in which we will be flying down there), or interview gets denied/non solvable....and we move there. So....bascially I won't be seeing him any time soon.

That is also because no one wants to play the game we created. I highly doubt that no one has any questions nor that they will be radio silent once in the NVC threads, but whatever.Once we all get approvals we will all be headed over to NVC and therefore our bond will be forever changed. :P. I guess we just sit and wait. We (those who type a ton on here) can ask questions about the NVC. Since no one else responds anyway, what does it matter what we put in here (on topic).

I finally mailed off my I-864 to my supposed co-sponsor. After the hours of work I put into the packet, I have a sneaky feeling that it will be looked at and firmly rejected within 5 seconds. Then I will be back to the root of one of the major issues. *Sigh*

Yeah. A middle name missing is one thing especially if it is just for the USC but in my case, all kinds of names were missing. In my husband's country, if you reverse his first name and middle names, you get the name of someone who has a criminal record. No goood!
