Philippinestime line on filing for CRBA

im confused.. i called the consular office in cebu (im filing it here coz its just near and we would not need to set an appointment) about when will i receive my son's CRBA and passport after filing.. and the assistant said about 4-6 weeks.. but then i was told by a friend that it would only be about 2 weeks.. i need help from people who already file for CRBA or who knows about it..

and another thing.. i am not married to my son's father yet and we filed for K1.. will they always ask for paternity test if the child was born out of wedlock??

Hi ranz.mae, make sure na pinorward ng consular office dyan sa cebu yung crba application ng anak mo sa US Embassy sa Manila kc yung sa Manila mismo ang nagpa-process.Anyways,marami dito sa VJ na nakasabay ko noon sa CRBA na taga Visaya pa at Mindanao..sinunod lng din nila kung pano yung step by step na yung Air21 ang magsend ng forms sa kanila then pick up ng Air21 yung CRBA application then mismong Air21 na yung magdeliver nun sa US Embassy..yup magastos sa pamasahe kc kinailangan pa nila magbiyahe at magstay sa Manila for the appointment pero alam ko ganun talaga yun eh.

Nag-CRBA din kc ang anak ko and that time di pa kmi kasal ng asawa ko nun, bale kaka-approved lng ng K1 ko nun pero di muna ako nagpa-sched ng interview at di pa ako nagpamedical nun kc gusto muna nmin matapos yung CRBA ng anak ko..at the same time naka-add din name ng anak ko sa K1 petition ko nun just in case na hndi ma-approve yung CRBA nya eh makakasama ko pa rin sya umalis as K2.But thanks to God smooth nman process ng CRBA ng anak ko at na-approved sya without DNA test and all in all process from submitting the application to receiving her US passport at CRBA certificate ay 1 month lng.

Syanga pala, wala din yung asawa ko nung time na nanganak ako, bale pinadala ko na lng sa knya dito sa US yung birthcertificate para pirmahan nya sa likod bago ko pina-register sa civil registrar samen sa Olongapo then sinend nya saken pabalik yung birthceritificate tpos pina-rehistro ko na.We filed for my daughter's CRBA nung 2yrs old na sya. Then after ko mareceived yung passport nya at CRBA cert. saka ako pina-sched ng asawa ko ng interview date then nagpamedical na ako.Tapos nung time ng interview ko,inask lng ng consul kung ok na ba CRBA anak ko..I said yes tpos hinanap lng yung passport at CRBA cert. ng anak ko so ayun pinakita ko lng then ok na..after 4days nun received ko na visa ko.

Good luck sayo and hopefully maayos na yung sa baby mo bago pa interview mo..kc di nila i-release visa mo hanggat di tapos ang CRBA ng baby mo.

PhilippinesFiling Adjustment of Status, Need Help

Hi VJ Peeps!

We are planning to apply for AOS within the next couple of months, and I have been trying to search for an answer to my question about naming convention.

Say for example, my current married name is Jennifer Jane Mendoza Jones.

Where:
- Jennifer Jane is considered my first name (in the Philippines)
- Mendoza refers to my father's family name/ my maiden name
- Jones refers to my husband's family name

Note: I already have an approved EAD and a SSN in American format: Jennifer Jones On my EAD and SSN application, I filled up the forms using the following format: First Name: Jennifer, Middle Name: Jane, Family Name: Jones

But when we first applied for I-130 and I-129F (my daughter Pippo and I were K3/K4 applicants before the category was dissolved), on my forms we used the Philippine naming convention, First Name: Jennifer Jane, Middle Name: Mendoza, Family Name: Jones.

Which naming convention should we use on my I-485 and G-325A?
The American naming convention (First Name: Jennifer, Middle Name: Jane, Family Name: Jones), or
the Philippine naming convention (First Name: Jennifer Jane, Middle Name: Mendoza, Family Name: Jones)?

Your responses would be so helpful. Would hate to get any RFEs at this stage in the process...or worse any kind of hiccup when we eventually apply for naturalization.

Thanks!

Kaye and Rick

Mine I used and follow the Philippine Way.For example my maiden name before was Dawn D. Agustin. Now that I'm married: I'm using Dawn Agustin Smith.
My SSN,EAD,Greencard, bank account, driver license and etc., all of them appears Dawn Agustin Smith.

Kc pag wla balikbayan cover, pwede masira box mo tsaka papatanggal sayo tape, kaya mapapagod ka lng at siempre need mo pa i-catch next nyo connecting flight.

I used 1 balikbayan box and I have 1 luggage and as of my hand carry, I have 1 big purse. The size of my balikbayan box is the same as yours but I bought this balikbayan box cover from balikbayan gear.

I think I paid Php700 for that cover pero it is sulit naman kasi i don't need to put packaging tape around the box to protect it saka incase na may question sayo ang custom kung ano laman ng box mo eh you can easily open it. It is hassle free as you can just unzip the cover and open the box unlike if you are just using the box eh you need to put packaging tape again after the custom's inspection but i hope na syempre na wala kang maencounter na custom prob star_smile.gif

There is a cover that has 4 wheels at the bottom so you can easily just pull your box and that is more convenient. It cost Php1500 so it is double the price. But what I did to save is that I bought that Php700 cover and my dad just bought 4 wheels in the hardware and he installed it at the bottom part biggrin.gif I think I paid Php100 for those 4 wheels. O di ba nakasave? tongue.gif I saw kasi kung ano yung itsura ng wheels so I know what kind of wheels to buy. Yung wheels nya eh yung prang sa cabinet or drawer na wheels. Maybe you'll think na it is kinda pricey pero the quality of it is sturdy naman at talgang pangmahabang byahe at pwede po pa naman cya gamitin ng maraming beses and I find it very convenient in traveling.

Oh btw, here is their website. I bought mine in SM. Their product was also featured on tv.

Anyways, i think i should stop na as I look like one of their endorser na laughing.gif I am just one of their satisfied customer lang po tongue.gif biggrin.gif

good.gif I had this too for my 2 balikbayan boxes.Pink is right, hassle free lalo na sa U.S.Custom clearance kc they will let you open your baggage,so mag-box kna lng and bilhan mo ng balikbayan gear pra zipper mo na lng sya.

By the way ,nag-exceed din ako before, bale $25 ang fee and Continental airlines told me that I can exceed upto 32kg with that fee.I exceeded 1 luggage and 1 balikbayan box so I paid $50.Better call your airlines,kc minsan iba din ang nsa website nila.

Happy Trip.

Pahabol:

sabi nga pala ng BI... once the child is native born and got his/her USC from the father, the only way she/he will get dual citizenship is get a Philippine passport.

The dual citizenship application are for people who naturalized not for natural born Filipino-American.

Native born or natural born just need 2 passports, one US Passport and one Phil.passport..no dual citizenship application and fees needed.

Tama si happywifey, baka pa-applyin ka ng exit clearance and ask you to pay the fees. Tell them your son will be exiting with his Philippine passport para hindi ka magbayad.

Make sure you bring your son's two passports. Let us know what happens.

Hi there All,

Me and my USC daughter just got here in the US Jan.18th.The BI told me if I apply a PI passport for my daughter I wouldn't pay the fee (ECC) bcoz once the baby has 2 passports..she/he is dual citizen already bcoz the filipina mom is the petitioner of our child to have their filipino citizen as well.
The BI Olongapo Branch told me that when I went there to get my daughter's exit permit and It was my fault bcoz I depend on their website that dual citizenship is more than 2 months processing and almost 14,000php fee thats why I didn't do it.
So when they told me that all I need to do is get her a Philippine passport and she's dual citizen already and no need to pay fee..just go to BI and show child 2 passports. But it's too late for me to get her a Phil.passport because our flight was Jan.17th and I got her exit permit Jan.5,2009.
If I just knew it earlier..I would get one.Anyways, they told me to bring her NSO BC and just go to nearest Phil.Consulate here in Florida to get her a Phil.passport so when we get back in PI..she can stay longer without paying fees.

P.S.
Immigration at NAIA also asked me why I didn't get her a Phil.Passport and they also told me to get one here at the Phil.Consulate in Florida so she have 2 passports,so she's dual citizen already.

Hi!

I'd like to ask, when you applied for WIC, did they require that both of you and your husband to appear and apply for it?

What are the documents they required from you?

Thanks....

No,they didn't require that both of us ( me and husband ) need to appear but we went together since we applied WIC for our daughter.

First tumawag muna kmi sa kanila to ask the requirements. Then nagpa-appointment na din.
They told us to bring my husband's latest pay stub, utility bill as proof of residency and our daughter.

Then at the appointment day, they just gave us a forms and told to fill up while asking us some questions.Check my daughter's height, weight, teeth and blood test. Then told us some health information about nutrition and that's it.Gave us a WIC card and checks and told us to come back on the date written on the card to pick up checks for the next month.

QUOTE (j_e_w_e_l_l_y_n @ Jul 23 2009, 10:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Ayos lang kung may health insurance ka, makakapasa ka pa rin as long as mas mababa income nyo sa guideline nila. Ex. for household of 3, gross annual income should be less than $33,874 (ikaw, asawa mo, baby kahit nasa tyan palang).

WIC (Women, Infants, and Children)

hello...i also have a question regarding about that WIC...i keep on asking my husband to apply WIC (just to save a little) but he doesnt want because he worries about my 'immigration' status...he dont want to apply any government programs like medicare, WIC and others because remember that our spouses signed an affidavit of support and that we will not be a burden of the state when we applied K1 (or K3) and also AOS.

and my husband keep on telling me to give it to other women of families who are really needing it and not because its free i have to take advantage of it....

but i still want to apply...hehehehe devil.gif

so is there anyone here had a problem with immigration papers when they applied for WIC?

thanks

Hi,Me and my husband applied for WIC before I file my AOS.I didnt encounter problem about my immigration status.I was worried about it before that maybe USCIS will deny my application so i researched a lot of times about WIC and I found out that it is not one of the means-tested public benefits written on I-864P ( means-tested benefits are SCHIP,SSI and TANF ).

Health Department asked my husband's recent pay stub and proof of residency. They approved us even his income is above poverty guidelines. They checked my daughter's eyes, teeth, height and weight and she had her blood test too. They found out that my daughter is very healthy. The person there explained us about WIC and gave us nutritional information on how she (our daughter) will maintain healthy. After that, they gaved us WIC card and 3 checks every month for cheese, peanut butter, milk in gallon, cereal, juice and now they gave us coupons which cost $4 each coupons to shop at farmer's market. It's really good because thay way we can save a little.

WIC is not only for people who have nothing or who really needs public assistance. It is about nutrition for pregnant women, infants and children 1yr old to 5yrs old.

I don't think they will request for DNA test for your second baby since you didn't had a problem with your first baby's CRBA.I think it will be more easier...just submit all the required documents written in the checklist and after all, your kids have the same father so no worries.

My daughter's CRBA was approved without DNA and me and my husband wasn't married that time yet and I didn't encounter any problem.

Some people even they have complete documents were requested for DNA because they want to make sure that the US citizen parent is the biological dad/mom of the applicant.
So you have to satisfy them with your proof of relationship, especially during the time of your conception of your baby..not only the complete documents for U.S. Physical presence of the father.

Hi there rowee,

Me and my fiancee has a 2 years old daughter and we are on CRBA for our daughter. My daughter's appointment at the Embassy is on July 24th.Is ur hubby is with u???My fiancee is not here and I will be the one to be with my daughter at the embassy. You just need to order the forms at ACS-FedEx number is 02-879-4747
Then if ur hubby is in the U.S. you have to send all the forms to him and he will fill it up and sign and complete the other requirements..its in the requirements list, once he read it,he knows what to to and prepare then he have to send it all to you.Keep ur pregnancy records, pictures, proof of ur relationship coz u will need to send it along the completed forms and supporting documents for ur son.Once you have prepared it already..call the number I gave above and tell them that you are ready for pick up the documents and the FedEx courier will come in ur house to get it and they will be the one to deliver it at the U.S. Embassy. Then ACS will call you when they receive it or after they review ur son's application for the appointment date.

Good luck!!!

Sheriff Uling is right, use travel agency to get your fiancee's passport. I used one last year (travel agency in the Mall) I paid twice but it was alot faster. My appearance in DFA only took 15 minutes or less... I put tourist/travel (I think) for my passport purpose. They didn't ask any background check, CFO whatsoever. Just find travel agency and tell them that you need a passport, provide all the documents that they need (BC, NBI, photocopy of 2 valid ID etc) and P1,500. You will gonna have it in less than a month.

Still, she will still need to attend the CFO seminar before she leaves the country if she didn't attend the seminar before she gets the passport.

just want to ask where to get this for CFO...Original and photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary (for USA bound emigrant),it says on the website, its one of the requirements.

The Commission of Filipinos Overseas (CFO) announces that effective 1 June 2007, attendance to the CFO Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) and Peer Counseling in Manila will be done by appointment. Clients may reserve a schedule through telephone numbers (63-2) 563-1965 and (63-2) 561-8321 local 103, or through website www.cfo.gov.ph

I went to CFO-PRISM this morning to attend the seminar. Jane was there too.

The guard didn't even asked for my ID.

At the second floor. I gave them photocopies of my NBI, BC, MC and passport and they didn't even asked for my ID and the original documents.

S2 - picture taking and filled-up the forms.

S3 - film showing about a lady on fiance visa who went abroad (married a Dutch) after only a month of exchanging correspondence. She was subjected to abuses- making her pose nude at different locations (mountains with snow). Well, she ended up going back here.

USA Room - group discussions. She discussed about what to bring (hand carry), the do's and don'ts of what to bring, differences of visa category and what to do when we get to the US with those visas. How much buggage/luggage allowed. She did not tackle the types of Abuses. Then she gave us a copy of what was discussed (2 pages).

One-on-One Discussion: She just asked about my profession? If I will be working in the US? How I met my husband? Where and when we got married? Citizenship of my husband's ex-wife? That's it!!!! She didn't asks for more documents/info not even my husband's divorce decree. She's nice and chubby and always smiling.

Went back to the viewing room to wait. After about 10 minutes... I have my YELLOW Certificate!!!

Will just go back to CFO for the green certificate and sticker when I get my visa.

PhilippinesDual Citizenship and Passport Renewal

The question was if she bacame a naturalized U.S. citizen could she renew her Philippines passport ...

The answer is NO ... she is no longer a Philippines citizen ... she is a U.S. citizen and as such is not eligible to hold a Philippines passport ...

However ... if or when she reacquires her Philippines citizenship and becomes a dual citizen ... she can then hold a Philippines passport again ...

Once ur friend become naturalize, she is no longer a filipino citizen and she can't renew her PI passport, unless she will apply for re-acquisition to become dual-citizen.Please check the link below.

Philippine Dual Citizenship FAQS
bluemistFemalePhilippines2010-01-02 23:04:00
PhilippinesCRBA Question
It is not illegal to have 2 passports if you are dual citizen.A child who have the CRBA is automatic dual citizen because they are native born of the Philippine to a filipino mother/father and american father/mother.

Those who have to apply for dual citizenhip in order for them to have Phil.passport or acquire Philippine citizenship are for filipinos who have been naturalized here in the US.

So if your son went through the process of CRBA..he is automatically dual citizen..all you need to do is get him a Philippine passport in able for him to hold US and Philippine passport and no need for him to pay for exit clearance at Bureau of Immigration.

anybody can give me information regarding exit permit of my son? Do I need to pay to get exit permit of my 1 year old son? He got his CRBA and american passport last january. My husband want to knwo if they will consider him as overstaying here in philippines. Any help?

Yup u need to go to the Bureau of Immigration, Intramuros Manila

I got my son's exit permit last september,

Fees:
Certificate - 720 pesos
express lane fee - 500 pesos

Requirements:
1 photocopy NSO BirthCertificate of the child
1 photocopy US Passport of the child
Bring the original for checking
4 2x2 ID pics
Bring your child for fingerprinting

If your son got his Citizenship last january, they will count how many months he got his citizenship and multiple it to a certain amount per month..
It's not that big..maybe less than a thousand per month, If you like you can email BI help desk: xinfo@immigration.gov.ph to inquire about it son's case.

HOpe it helps..goodluck ..

PS..you will get your son's exit permit the same day.

Thanks for the reply it really helpful. I have follow us question if I will get baby's exit permit during my interview how many months it will be valid?

Hi there...Exit permit (ECC) is valid for 1 month only.If I were you..get exit permit for your son,2 weeks before your departure.I'm going to get exit permit for my daughter also at BI here in Olongapo City Branch.
