Philippines***Bible Verses of the Day****
Ephesians 5:1 Follow God's example in everything you do just as a much loved child imitates his father.

Psalm 150:6

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.

Bible Verses for Mother's Day

Isa 66:13

As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem."

Proverbs 31:10-12 and 25-31

A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.

She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:

"Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

You don't have to report your marriage with the immigration because that's what the AOS --adjustment of status-- is for. If you want to report your marriage, you do it with the Philippine Consulate, but if I were you, I will focus on AOS first, since you have a year to inform Philippine Consulate about your marriage. SS is not needed for the AOS. If you want to save yourself from going back and forth to SSA, I'd change the maiden name into married one after you got the EAD or GC. It's because if you change it now, you will still receive your SS card with the notation that you cannot work unless DHS authorized. That notation will be removed from your card once you received either EAD or GC. So basically, you'll have another trip back to SSA.

A quick question, You only have one year to inform the Philippine Consulate about your marriage? She's never had any contact with the Consulate. What happens if you don't? My wife already has her GC and SS in her married name. She'll be doing "removal of conditions this fall.

Kevin

Nope, not one year and no one year. You can report your marriage whenever you want to,you can do it together when you renew your passport or amend your passport.Thats what Im going to do..i will do it both at the same time.

My friend been here for 3yrs now and she just reported her marriage Feb.2009.She came her on K1 too and got married 2006.

Nakakainis di ba pag passport lagi papakita..kc laki-laki nga..lol...tpos mtgal pa nila titigan...hehe.

Syanga pla pag kukuha ka State ID need mo din SSN tska kelangan kuha ka state ID at least a month bago ma-expire I-94 mo or else papabalikin ka pag may EAD or GC kna.

May filipino restaurant dun.Mas gusto ko dyan kesa d2 kc mas marami pinoy dyan eh...d2 konti lng.

oo girls, yun din pagkakaalam ko just go back so ss office present your marriage certificate then they wil change your id to to your married name. ang nakakaasar pa the first time i went there to get my ssn card in my maiden name the black guy was so kind and he told me just go back there after we get married para ma change id ko sa married name ko. then we got back yesterday there i ended up with a filipino officer and he told me pumunta ko sa local office ng imigration and report my marriage tapos balik na lang ako dun pag may stamp na passport ko ng k3 visa. badtrip na badtrip tlaga ako kasi i explained everything he said mali info ako.

kaya eto im wondering if mga k1 visa holder dito after u got married ba nagreport pa kayo sa local office ng immigration. or aos na agad.

ano ba tlga gawin after marriage? kasi alam ko report sa phil embassy yung marriage then gather paper for aos and do your aos.

anyone from jacksonville or florida who got their ssn card in their married name and ganun din ba sabi ng ss officer.

kaasar tlga.

thanks everyone!!

Hi Im in Florida too and I went to Jacksonville,FL for my biometrics for AOS and EAD last April 24.
I went to SSA 1week after my entry here in the US then went back after we got married to changed it to married name..the girl who assisted me when I applied for ssn told me to come back after we got married and just bring our marriage certificate and my passport with my I-94 on it and didn't encounter any problem even the girl who assisted me to changed my ssn to married name is not the same girl who assisted me when I applied for ssn.

I dont know the report of marriage at the Immigration..wlang service nun sa local immigration office, masasayang lng oras mo.If I were you tawag ka uli sa SSA office nyo then ask mo kung ano need mo to change your ssn to married name then pag sinabi na marriage certificate lng at yung passport mo....punta ka in person then sbhin mo na tumawag ka at yun lng pnapadala sau,or hanapin mo yung black guy na nag-assist sayo nung nag-apply kna ssn mo.Ang iba kc na staff sa SSA mga wlang alam pagdating sa mga immigration status natin.

You only need to report your marriage at the Philippine Embassy for renewal or amendment of passport...not for changing ssn to married name..hndi yun requirements.

hello guys , my questions are , will I need a copy of id/credit card of hubby since he purchased my ticket thru expedia ? I will be on continental airlines flight ; any experience with regards to etickets ? specially those who took the same airlines?

what are the fees to be collected at NAIA -- taxes? terminal fees? baggages?

I would highly appreciate your replies .

Thank you and God bless to each and everyone.

Hi forestrose..I flew via continental airlines. My hubby bought the ticket through continental airlines website.NAIA didn't ask for his credit card and ID.I just paid the travel tax that cost Php1,620 and Php750 for terminal fee. They allow 1 hand carry which is 18kg and 2 baggages each passenger which is 23kg each...but if you want to ecxess..you can exceed upto 32kg and the fee is $25 for each baggage you want to exceed. They allow 2 baggages each passenger which is 23kg each.
I like continental airlines...service is great so I recommend it.Didn't have a hard time for my baggages each stop-over because they will be the one to transfer/re-check in your baggage(s) to your next connecting flight.

Happy trip!!!!

My Pork Embutido - First time in the making smile.gif

The outcome of my product smile.gif

While on steamer

Ingredients :

· 1 lb. ground pork
· 1/2 cup finely chopped carrots
· 1 cup (6 slices) finely chopped (sweet or cooked) ham
· 3 tbsp. minced green bell pepper
· 3 tbsp. minced red bell pepper
· 1/3 cup sweet pickle relish
· 1/4 cup raisins
· 3 whole eggs
· 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
· dash of liquid seasoning
· salt & pepper, to taste
· 1 tbsp. cornstarch

· slices (wedges) of hard-cooked eggs
· slices (wedges) of Vienna sausage
· aluminum foil, 10" x 12" sizes

Cooking Procedures :

1. Prepare a steamer and set aside.
2. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix until well blended.
3. Divide the mixture into 2 to 4 portions (depending on how many you want to make).
4. Spread and flatten the mixture onto the center of each foil, divide the slices of hard cook eggs and Vienna sausages. Place each slices at the center of each mixture. Hold the foil onto your hand and roll until the ends of the mixture covers the eggs and sausages. Alternatively, by holding each ends of the foil, roll the mixture back and forth until it covers the slices of eggs and sausages in the center.
5. Finally, roll the aluminum foil into a tightly packed log about 1" to 2" in diameter, sealing on both ends. Repeat with the remaining pork mixture.
6. Place the embutido in a steamer and steam for an hour.
7. Remove from the steamer. Let it cool and slice into rings. Serve with your favorite catsup or sauces.

My Chicken Sweet n' Sour

Ingredients
  • 1 pound of boneless and skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into 1" chunks
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 10-ounce can pineapple chunks (reserve juice)
  • 1/4 cup juice from the canned pineapple
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2-3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon cooking oil
  • 1 red/green bell pepper, cut into 1 inch chunks
  • 1 medium red or white onion cut into 1 inch chunks

Method
1 In a bowl, combine the chicken with the egg white, salt and cornstarch. Stir to coat the chicken evenly. Let sit for 15 minutes at room temperature or up to overnight in the refrigerator.

2 In the meantime, whisk together the pineapple juice, vinegar, ketchup, salt, and brown sugar.

3 Heat a large frying pan or wok over high heat until a bead of water instantly sizzles and evaporates. Pour in the 1 tablespoon of cooking oil and swirl to coat. It's important that the pan is very hot. Add the chicken and spread the chicken out in one layer. Let the chicken fry, untouched for 1 minute, until the bottoms are browned. Flip and fry the other side the same for 1 minute. The chicken should still be pinkish in the middle. Dish out the chicken onto a clean plate, leaving as much oil in the pan as possible.

4 Turn the heat to medium and add the remaining 1 teaspoon of cooking oil. Let the oil heat up and then add the bell pepper chunks and onions. Fry for 1 minute. Add the pineapple chunks and the sweet and sour sauce. Turn the heat to high and when the sauce is simmering, add the chicken pieces back in. Let simmer for 1-2 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through. Timing depends on how thick you've cut your chicken. The best way to tell if the chicken is done is to take a piece out and cut into it. If it's pink, add another minute to the cooking.Serve with hot rice.

Even if you will not apply for CRBA for ur new born baby,at the time of ur interview,,the consul will hold the release of ur visa and he/she will tell u to do CRBA..so yea..ur new born daughter need to go through CRBA because she is automatic US citizen.all you have to do is do the step-by-step CRBA process.don't worry,it doesn't take long as long that you have all the documents on the checklist, just organize it and let FedEx to pick it up and send to ACS-USEM.

ruby_jade is right.Get your baby a Phil.passport so he/she dont need exit permit anymore.Having a Phil.passport makes your baby dual citizen,,just show ur baby's 2 passports at NAIA,they will not ask for exit permit anymore coz they already know once they see ur baby has 2 passports (US and Philippine)

PhilippinesAbout Getting SSN
QUOTE (Mister_Bill @ Aug 31 2009, 10:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Unless you have a reason for having an SSN, say for tax purposes, or for establishing a medical record, you can wait until you get your EAD if you plan to work, or when you get your LPR, when you can get your permanent, unrestricted card. My wife just received her third card, removing the work restrictions a few weeks ago. We got one before she married, another when she received her EAD, and after a bit of procrastinating, we finally went over to get her latest card.

That's what I did too..Went there to inform them about my status now as a permanent resident.Just showed them my GC and told them to remove the restriction written on it.Now waiting for my new 3rd ssn card without restriction anymore.

About ur question, you only need to include kids in the petition if u have kids from previous/past relationship. But if ur child is US citizen,no need na kc US citizen na.US citizen child/children don't need a visa to go to US.

sis tnk u so much ha tlgng worried nko sa interview ko..ilang weeks ba bgo nila ako twgn pra masked un interview cbra ng baby ko tpos ilang weeks bgo makuha un citizenship nya?...so u mean once na pass ko na un cert.citizenship nya pwede ko na un ipakita sa embassy tpos print na nila visa ko?hay sna nga gnun kadali...ung isa sa mga form na order from fedex un ds2029 eh nagkamali ako dami mali so gngwa ko download ko ugn ds2029 sa website.iniisp ko kc sayang nmn if order pa ulit ako ng package eh isa lang nmn ung mali....sis,sna nga mdali lng interview skin sna wla na masydo dmi tanong.kinakabahan ako...tnx sa reply mo

Depende...yung iba 1 to 2weeks bago tawagan.

Pag approve yung anak mo sa CRBA appointment, sasabihin sayo ng consul na mareceive mo CRBA and US passport in 1 or 2weeks.

Tpos keep fingers crossed lng.

Tatawagan mo tlga ang ACS-FedEx for pick up.Madali lng nman, pag kumpleto na yung CRBA application package tawagan mo lng cla then sabihin nila sayo na pick up nila kinabukasan, yung iba nman same day nung tumawag cla.

Attend ka ng interview mo sa June 15,interbyuhin ka pa din,di ka made-deny..sbhin lng sau na tapusin ang CRBA then pag ok na balik ka sa knila at ipakita mo yung CRBA certificate at US passport then i-print na nila visa mo.

PhilippinesCRBA/Passport approval!
QUOTE (jamster0105 @ Jul 23 2009, 02:41 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello everyone,

My wife had our sons CRBA and passport interview today at the embassy in Manila. Everything went smooth as we thought (Thank God!), however, since I had my passport notzarized in the Philippines this past may, they asked if I would mail them a copy of my passport notarized from a notary in the US. It appears they do not accept Philippines notary of an American citizens passport for this purpose (remember this everyone who is applying for CRBA for a child in Manila). I'm going to send out this copy directly to American citizens services Via 2 day UPS delivery, which will put it in the consulars hands by monday (no delays) and we should have our sons CRBA and passport within 2-3 weeks! Once she has these, she will bring them back to Visa services in the embassy without an interview appointment so they can issue her visa to her. Normally that process takes only a few days! Looks like I should have my family here with me by mid august, it there are no more delays. Thank you to everyone who has helped us through our year long journey, especially Mike and Karen. Good luck to all of you who have just recently started on your visa journey and to those who are almost done. Just pray everyday and never give up hope! Everyones days will come star_smile.gif

Congrats for your son's CRBA approval!!!!
Does your son has Philippine passport already so he won't need exit permit anymore?

I was in the bad mood that day, then my husband took me to the store, ayun nawala init ng ulo ko kc nakita ko yung mga gusto ko..Lol

Oh diba,pinas na pinas star_smile.gif
