K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWell here it goes!
Well I finally have all my documentation to file for the K-1. I have been on this board for over a year now and I can finally file. I have been biting my finger nails and checking the packet a zillion times. I had other people review it also and low and behold I forgot a signature. Phew! It will be sent out express mail today.

I can now finally start the journey with everybody else. Yeah!

Jen

P.S. Thank you for pinning the RFE list. I reviewed that also!

Ok so I have been reading ahead and it says when you get the additional pictures for the medical and the interview you are to sign the back of them. I just submitted the K-1 petition and I wrote our names on the back of the pictures that I submitted with the G-325A. This was according the instructions in the guide on this forum. Was I supposed to have signed them instead or is that only for the later stages?

Yep I am freaking over every little thing!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTax records required?

Nigel had a letter from my employer and bank and London didn't ask for anything else. If you have the tax returns handy I would say print them out and take them. But if not and you're not self-employed you probably won't need them.

Getting tax transcripts from the IRS is free if you call them at 1-800-829-1040.. It's always better to be over prepared than under prepared and getting an 221g. Get the tax transcripts and send a copy of them to your fiancee. You'll need them for your I-864 for AOS anyways..

Thank you Zyggy. I am going to order mine today just to have. I like to be over prepared! :D

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDivorce Decree
I sent the whole thing and it was 32 pages long. However, I have two girls from a previous marriage so there is custody and a separation agreement attached. I figured if they are only interested in the first few pages then they can ignore the rest. I would rather be safe than sorry.

I apologize. I didn't see that this was just asked about a week ago. I did a search and nothing came up so that is why I asked. Again my apologies!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDivorce Decree
I have a question on sending my divorce decree with the I-129F for the K-1. Do I have to send the whole document including the Separation Agreement? or do I just send the first four pages which is the Judgment Entry with the judge's signature on it?

I have the packet assembled and was sending the whole thing. I just wanted to know what other people did.

Thanks,
Jen

I kinda doubt that a government agency works on Saturday other than the post office. I can't say for certain but they get more holidays off than us regular working people. Just my thought.

Ok this makes no sense. I just checked my status at USCIS and it says last updated April 29, 2006. Umm this morning it said June 3, 2006. What the #$($*&($ are they doing over there?

Now like 3 minutes later it says 6/3/2006. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

This 'touching' deal has been interesting as of late. I was 'touched' yesterday, and just looked tonight and was 'touched' again. Do they do this everytime your case is looked at because of a phone call? I am pretty sure today was the day my Senator called, so I was curious about if that is why I'm getting touched more than a cheap hooker.

Ok guys I just reread the email and noticed something.

On June 1, 2006, we transferred your I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) to an
office in CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER for processing. That office has
jurisdiction over the case. They will send you a written decision as soon
as processing is complete. You should receive a notice informing you
that your case has been transferred to a local office.

This sounds like it is going to our local offices. What does everybody else think?
jen&darcyNot TellingCanada2006-06-01 19:59:00
IMBRA Special TopicsLets collect some information about IMBRA effects

I think people are bothered because they are being transferred to a center that is slower than the one we were at, regardless of it being connected to IMBRA or not. Yes, we will likely get something next week to check off whether we are IMBRA-related or not, but that doesn't change that my center's processing time went from looking at file from Feb. 20 to looking at files from Feb. 2.

I still think a sign of movement is welcome, but I am wary of having been sent to California.

Exactly!

Didn't someone over on the USCIS Centres section post something about Nebraska splitting the K1 visas up between California and Vermont? Sorry, I don't know how to perform links, but there was definately a post about it.

It was supposed to be I-129s not I-129Fs. It is posted on their website. It was effective April 1st though.

As I mentioned in my post, we most definitely didn't meet through an IMB and were very clear in stating that we met in person at a sporting event, but our petition was still recalled.

In addition to describing how we met the first time, we also mentioned that he traveled up to visit me during the summer and supported it with the stamps in his passport (even though Canada doesn't usually stamp passports anymore, they were working to rule at the time), photos of us at a city-run event he attended that I coordinated (it's listed in my employment history), and AMTRAK stubs with our names on them from our travel within the US (and both purchased with his credit card). There should be no concern whatsoever that we met through an IMB. I hope this means we'll be re-approved quickly.

Damn! This really makes me nervous. So sorry cdngirl06.

I attached a two-page letter further explaining how we met on the internet and our history together. Hopefully that will rule out any suspicions.

So far, there isn't enough people affected here I don't think to see a pattern unfortunately.

I am not trying to slam Gary because I am grateful for all that he has done but not all consulates/embassy's take 4-6 months to get an interview date. In my mind, it doesn't wash out. If I would have filed before this damn IMBRA came into affect, I would right now been approved through Nebraska. This is how the timeline was going when I filed. Vancouver only takes 2-4 weeks to get an interview so in essence I am lucky that I don't have the backlog that some people have with getting an interview but as it stands now with CSC I will be lucky to be approved by September or October.

Sorry I am beyond the point of frustration!
