IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresurgent help needed family name issue

i hv already applied , can u tell wt shud i do

actually he was using his name without family name from his childhood ,he added family name for passport SO can we give affidavit that both names are of same person....

thanx for valuable replies ,
give me some more replies please...........

I was in a similar situation but it was with a spelling of my name... on my BC my name is spelled Melodie but on my SSC is is spelled Melody, so if you look at my passport it would have a different spelling than on all the tax information I submitted for the AOS... Now what you should of done was when fillin out the I-130 and it asked for all names used you should of listed all his names... I didnt think to list my other spelling of my name so I called the NVC and asked an Operator what to do... at their suggestion, I typed a letter stating why there was a difference in the spelling <I said my Momma was crazy and she thought that Melodie would jinx me into an untimely death, so she changed it to Melody on my SSC :D and then I attached a copy of my BC and SSC I sent this in when I sent in my I-864 AOS package...

IMO, I would do the same, just send in a letter with a copy of all the documents behind it <only send it in if you get an RFE or you have another package to send in like AOS or IV... I wouldnt send it in just to send it in>

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNew Delhi Interview on 9/30

Guys,

My Wife had an interview on 9/30 and they placed us in Administrative Processing and handed us white paper. The lady in Embassy told me that it will take 2-3 weeks and they will call us. They also kept my wife's passport. Please advise how long will it take? and Will she get her visa?? what i can do to speed up the process. Thanks.

Hey, I know how aggervating and dissappointing this process is. My Husband also had his interview in New Delhi and was put on AP... ours lasted 2 months.... longest 2 months of my life... I tried to contact everyone I could think of to speed up the process, (State Rep, The President, News Reporters etc.) hehehehehe I didnt say I was the brightest person but I was going crazy.... In the long run the only thing IMO that you can do is wait... The embassy also told us a few weeks... and everytime my Husband or I called them they would say call back next week... Anyways hang in there!!!

I used Amantel and they have been super awesome, they have emailed me all my records. Just a word of advice... if you are wanting to use this as proof for the immigration process... I would suggest that you send some snail mail to your spouse... from what I have gathered they look at that and not to much on the phone bills...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A, do all copies need to be signed?
QUOTE (Amit-N-Melody @ Nov 4 2009, 03:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I was curious about this same question so I called our friendly customer service reps <LOL> at USCIS and the woman told me that 4 signed copies for each person was needed....

OMG this is hilarious.... so I called the USCIS back and talked to another operator... biggrin.gif They really know whats going on over there!!! Now Mrs. G653971 told me that the most accurate information is on the USCIS website, and that they have updated the G-325a form and no longer need 4 copies, only 1 signed copy for each person.. but guess what other information she told me biggrin.gif I didnt know about that might help someone else.... You can sign your husband/wife's G-325a form if they are not present biggrin.gif she told me to sign my name and write petitioner by it...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI 129F question about residential/postal address

Hi again. This forum is excellent and the info on VJ is awesome so thanks to everyone.

I am the beneficiary in this process. My question. when my embassy (sydney) contacts me for my interview appointment will they do that by email or send a letter or both. On the I129F form I have given my residential address which is what I think theyre after but I want them to send any correspondence to my P.O box. should I include my postal address as a supplement to the I129F or should i ask them in the cover letter to send all correspondence to my PO box.

I have also provided passport pages showing entry and exit dates to the USA. should I copy every page including blank pages or just the ones that are stamped.

In the g 325A form where it asks you to write your name in your native alphabet if not in roman, can I put not applicable or should I leave it blank

Thanks for your help

I put both my residental address and my po box address on my I-130, I-129f and my G-325a forms, and they mailed my NOA's to my po box addrtess without any issues...

I put N/A in the spot where it asked about the Roman for Alphabet... You shouldnt leave anything blank

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG 325 Signature Requirement

Hi guys,

I was wondering does a G-325A need to be sign and dated within any specific date range or does it not matter?

I met my fiance in August last year and thats when she signed the forms but for reasons beyond control I was not able to file immediately after getting back to US.

The G235A is dated at 05/28/09 and the letter of intent is dated 7/15/09

does it matter?

I also had kinda the same issue, My hubby signed the G-325a form in August/09 and I didnt mail the package until October/09.... I still recieved a NOA1 so far <knock on wood> I have not recieved any RFE's ....... I dont know the exact limitations on dates... but I think a few months is fine

My divorce papers look exactly like that, A bunch of gibberish on what the 2 parties agree to, and then on the last page it was stamped on the back, then they wrote in the date it was offical and signed it.... My total divorce decree is 14 pages long, if you would like I could take a pick of the stamp and email it too ya... inbox me if you want to see mine

If I were you... I would make a trip and plan on attending the interview... even though you might have to wait outside or in the waiting room... he can still take in your passport to show that you are there <they wont ask for it, he would have to offer it too them> I know in one case were they actually interviewed the petitioner... so... go... just my 2 cents

attending.. could mean the difference of being approved or denied... depends on how you like to gamble

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCreation of NVC Case Record #

Thanks Yakad.

Maybe you can help me with another question? My fiancee and I want to start gathering the documents for the K-Visa appointment package (i.e. packet 3)? Can we do this without the NVC case record #, for instance the Doctor examination and lab work and DAS documents? And if we can, how difficult is it to schedule the Doctor appointment and do you need to schedule the lab work? Thanks again for any help you can offer.

Galen

it took about 9 days before we had our case number from NVC. You can start gathering documents like proof of relationship and things like that for the interview. But You will have to have an appointment letter from the embassy before you will be able to get the medical done.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWaiting Since April
You can not compare your case to others that have been approved faster from a different consulate. The typical time for someone that has filed is 5-6 months... So bide your time with some hobby to keep your mind occupied and know that the NOA2 is comming... if you filed in April you should start looking for your NOA2 in Sept/Oct. I would stay away from looking at what other ppl have done in other countries... because it will drive you crazy.. I remember back when I started I was reading that this person from Germany was able to skate through the USCIS in like 32 days... it just doesnt seem fair... Goodluck

So since we got our NOA2 when should we call NVC?

It took 9 buisness days before NVC recieved and processed my case, So I would wait atleast 3 buisness days before I started calling NVC to get your NVC case number

also you should study up on this :

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSpeed

Which visa should we go after if visa speed is our priority? I'm Canadian, my fiance is American. We can marry fairly quickly if we need to. It looks like the K1 Visa is slightly faster but without all of the same benefits?

You need to study up on the different types of visas... a K-1 is a fiancee visa and wouldnt be possible to file if you were to get married.. An CR-1 is what you would file if you were to get married... You can look to the top of the page and search the immigration timelines and see for yourself what might be 'quicker' for your area...

I called to check on the status of my Husbands visa and she told me that he was still under processing, I asked he if she could tell me what kind of process and of course she said that she could not, then I told her with the Freedom of Information Act that it was against my rights for her to with hold information from me on my case... ummm she choked a little and then said thanks for calling.. click

LOL... I think I will just keep calling them back quoting them with different acts of right... let me see.. I think there might be something in the constitution...

disclaimer: I called DOS last week and they told me that if I called them everyday that it would not matter they have noway to make notations on our file and that it wouldnt bother them :D

Woooooowwwwwwwwww, go Melody. That's great that you know so many people that may be able to help this cause. Especially since our congressmen and senators dont seem to care. I truly hope you hear back from someone, we need good news. I'm especially curious about the FOIA. It's the first time I ever heard of that like truthfully if that works it would be great bc just like you we have all run out of solutions. Being in AP is like hitting a dead end with no escape. As much as people say oh just focus on the end of the tunnel, its way too hard with this process. Anywayz, you are totally in my thoughts I really hope you hear back. Oh, quick question, just like MQ asked how do u file that FOIA?

hahahaha Yea, I do know a few ppl... I did email Marybeth last night... If she cant help me or direct me on who to contact then I will start on Darla Atlas with People Magazine, she also rights an article for a Paper in Texas... I wish I knew someone from the Washington Post... my thoughts are they might.. and I can use them as a reference.

Even if all that I have done still gets me no where I can say that I feel empowered educating myself about OUR Laws as Americans, Not to mention I dont feel useless just sitting here... This is the first steps in my endeavors.. the longer I am on AP the more time I have to research a way out of this hell... I believe there has to be a key to break this puzzle.. sitting and going truely crazy is not an option.. I am trying to direct my energy to positivity.

He told me that he would go Tues or Wed... He is being sooo paitent with me.. I think that one of the reasons being in AP is terrible is becasue we are all required to put our lives on hold in one way or another. It's so frustrating. Like you Melody I am also living with my parents until my husband gets here so I know what thats like. I hope we all getout out of this AP like this week, miracles happen we'll just have to wait and :D see.

Well I am praying for a big Ol miracle....
