We did both, just to be on the safe side, since some are requiring it and some aren't. The e-form I just submitted, but the separate paper forms were sent in on 7/28. Hopefully ONE of them gets through quickly.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLetter from bank for I-134
I called my bank and told them what it says on the I-134 instructions:

You need a letter from your bank, on bank letterhead, stating when you opened the account, the current balance, and how much has been deposited and withdrawn in the last year.

That's what they faxed back. My bank called it a Certificate of Deposit Verification. (Though it's a checking account, not a CD.) I don't know what your bank will call it. I had to call and speak to the office that handles it because the first letter they faxed me was all wrong, but someone finally helped me and it only took a day.

Hope that helps!

Nvm, crisis averted. Apparently the man couldn't read when looking through what they gave back to him, and it was stuck in with his original medical records. :P

The DS-3025, not the I-693. I'm getting those confused. URGH.

My fiance had his medical yesterday, and just now told me that they didn't give him a sealed form of any kind. He said at no time did they even mention it. He said they gave him back the medical records he brought with him, but didn't say anything about a form, and him, being a typical male, didn't remember to ask for it.

What do we do? How do we get it now?

Nich-Nick,

I had already told you in the other thread that, YES, I had looked at your links, and I thanked you for them. It's perfectly obvious why I asked for the other thread to be removed, as it was serving no purpose other than to prolong the ongoing drama, so please don't bring that drama here.

Well, he had his interview yesterday, so here's hoping!

He said the doctor he got was very curt and a little rude. He was so nervous he was shaking, but he passed according to her. They said they'd have bloodwork results on Friday.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionWaiting for Interview Date from London
My fiance received P3 on 7/28 and sent the forms and DS-2001 back within 2 hours of receipt. He got delivery confirmation that they were received in London the next day. It's now almost 2 weeks later and they've still not logged them in. I keep calling the DOS everyday, but they keep telling me that they show nothing received on our case.

After seeing another thread, we filled out and submitted the electronic DS-160 just to be on the safe side, because there seems to be some confusion as to whether London wants the separate forms or the DS-160, even though the link they gave us said the separate forms. So now they've got both and can take their pick. My question is How long does it take them to log in the P3 documents and schedule the interview? One poster said they got an interview date (over the phone, not via mail) 4 days after London received his documents. How long are most others waiting? We're hoping for him to be here by mid-October, so I know we've still got time, but come ON!

Since YOUR I-134 is already part of the file now, you JUST need your co-sponsor's I-134 and backup documents, but it has to be the original form with an original signature, so you may want to pay the extra $$ and fedex it to your fiance ASAP, so they can get it quickly.

Call the rather expensive line at 02074-99-9000. It's £1.20/min. Sorry, that's the only thing I know of. Once it's issued it usually takes a day or two for the courier to get it to you.

Well, we put on our forms that he wanted to travel around Oct 11th, and Jill said that they waited to schedule her interview until closer to his travel time. (She called the embassy to ask when they'd logged her forms but hadn't scheduled an interview a month later). But late Sept or early Oct would still be fine. Honestly, so long as he's here before Thanksgiving with my family I'll be happy. We've waited this long.

I'd honestly consider the six week thing and just get it out of the way to be safe if I were you. You don't necessarily HAVE to, I guess, but if it's in the instructions... better safe than sorry. And they DO process the bloodwork. It usually only takes a few days at most of the clinics, but you never know what can happen.

They know most people leave as soon as they have the visa, and are basically saying give six weeks (just to be safe) to get the medical results to the embassy. Most places don't take that long... but these are bureaucrats. It's taken 2 weeks so far for them to log paperwork in London that they received from us on July 29th.

Good luck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLondon Visa Interview times
What "letter requesting an interview" are you referring to? Did you send in the forms for Packet 3? You aren't required to send in a letter after that, they schedule it after they log in the forms and a scheduling block opens up. (They schedule in 2 week blocks, apparently.)

It took them 2 1/2 weeks to log in our paperwork once we sent back our forms, and then 2 additional days to schedule the interveiw. We got the date on Tuesday, 8/17, and it was scheduled for one month later, 9/17. I don't know if it makes any difference that he had his medical between the time we sent the packet back and they logged in the forms or not. Knightsbridge told him they'd have the medical results to the embassy on Friday 8/13, and they logged in our forms on that day. It could just be a coincidence.

Hope that helps!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionA few questions about the Embassy interview
Hey there. We're going through the same process.

Don't worry if it takes more than 2 weeks to get an interview date. There are a few people who have been waiting 3 to 4 weeks for London right now, and it seems like they're waiting to get the results of the medical before scheduling. Has your fiance had their medical exam yet?

If you're just wanting to get an update and see if they've received the forms, and have scheduled anything, call the DOS. It's a US number, not the £1.20 line in the UK. 202-663-1225 (Option 1 for main menu, then 0 for an operator). You'll need your LND case number that the NVC gave you. They'll have the info of everything that London has done to date.

As far as fees:

Medical Exam (Knightsbridge) £200
Visa Application fee (at interview) $350
Courier Fee (at interview) £14.20

Hope that helps, and GOOD LUCK!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionRequired documents
According to everyone else's reviews of the consulate, you'll still need to take originals and copies with you to the interview. I don't know why. One person even said their originals somehow weren't in their file that they'd already sent in, and the rude lady who takes the forms when you first get in accused them of not sending them. HOW ELSE DID THEY GET AN INTERVIEW SCHEDULED????

I swear, the Brits really need to learn how to complain more. It's the only way they're ever going to get people to give better service.
DodiFemaleUnited Kingdom2010-09-03 09:06:00
US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionRequired documents
For London you'll need 2 originals and 1 copy of the DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157, and DS-230 pt.1.

You'll also need the I-134 and all supporting documents for your sponsor as well as one for each co-sponsor (if you have any).

You'll need an original and copy of your Police Certificate (ACRO/ACPO) and any divorce decrees, your birth certificate (long form required), Letter reaffirming your intent to marry, your passport, proof of ongoing relationship, etc.

Hope this helps.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDS-156 FORM
The barcode is just a way for them to scan in your answers instead of having to hand-type everything. It speeds things up for them. It doesn't generate a code saying how many times you've filled out the form. You can do it as many times as you need to get it right. They'd prefer it to be right on your 108th time, than to do it once and have it wrong at the interview. Well.... I say THEY.... they don't really care if it's right or wrong, they'd just give you a blue slip if it were wrong.

Just fill out a new one and take it to the interview. :)

Did you mean the DS-160?

The DS-156 is a printable form, but you send in the paper copy, it doesn't go directly to the embassy/consulate. The DS-160 is electronically submitted.

Which embassy/consulate are you using?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPreferred Verbiage for Letter from Officer of Bank? (I-134)
I had this reply typed out and somehow it erased and I got sent to another page before it posted:

The letter I included was faxed from my bank (they don't mail these for some reason) and said exactly what was requested on the I-134 instructions: Account type, date opened, current (at the time) balance, amount deposited and withdrawn in the past 365 days. It was on bank letterhead, and was signed by the person making the statement and included their contact info.

Honestly, unless you're using assets to bridge a gap between income and requirements, they're not going to pay much attention to your bank info.

If it's pretty obvious from your form that you don't qualify to sponsor on your own they won't spend much time on your I-134 and will switch to your co-sponsor's from the get-go.

Good luck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPacket 4 still not received
Don't worry about your NOA2 expiring. London will extend it so long as you've submitted your P3 forms and are continuing the process. They understand that sometimes it takes longer than expected to get it all completed.

When calling the DOS, press 1 for the main menu, then 0 to get to an operator. That'll bypass all of the garbledygook you hear when it starts up.

I called every single day once we knew our P3 forms had been received there (Royal Mail confirmation) until they told me they'd logged the forms, and then till they told me we had an interview date. It took 2 1/2 weeks for them to log in the forms and then another 2 to 3 business days to schedule us an interview date for one month later. DOS told me all of this before we had any word from London.

Good luck!

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)France/America couples
Hi all : )

I've just now seen this thread...took me a while

Anyway, this is a lot of fun!!! It's like everybody is coming out of the woods or something!! I had no idea there were so many French/American couples out there!

Well, I'm the Frenchie in this marriage, but my husband speaks French. He studied in France for a semester back in 1995, and actually was a French teacher in the Midwest for a while. So we never really had any problems communicating. But we had our share of frustrating times

I was from the east of France, Besancon, and left in 2003 for Oklahoma. Now we live on Maui, and weare planning on coming back to the Mainland this year.

I love living here! I do miss some French things though, especially the language, as well as my friends and my family of course. But I am very happy with my life here!

Well good luck to all!! Nice to finally meet you guys!!!

US Citizenship General DiscussionMoving while applying for Naturalization
Wow, i read the post you sent me, this is SCARY. Yeah, i definitely DON'T want that to happen to us, so I might as well wait... I didn't want to because to apply for citizenship you have to live at least 3 months in the same state (and we are going to change of state, you see), and that's just a pain to wait even 3 more months when everything is ready now. Plus, as i said, I want to avoid the new fees if they indeed go way up in the spring. But i guess it's better to pay more and to wait a bit more than to go through hell if things are not forwarded properly...

In any case, thanks for your reply and good luck to you!

US Citizenship General DiscussionMoving while applying for Naturalization
Hi all, :help:

I know this question has been asked before but never really answered (well, i couldn't find any satisfying answer ; ), but what would happen if I sent my N400 and then moved to another state?

You see, my application is ready to send, but there's a possibility that with my husband's job we might have to move in the next few weeks or months. Then what? I don't really want to have to wait 3 more months after moving, I'd like to avoid the new fees since everybody seems to suspect that they will go up soon... can't really afford that.... know what i mean?

Anyway i was just wondering if somebody had ever been in that situation and could help us out. :bonk:

Thanks guys!

Happy New Year! Let's hope it will be a GOOD one.

US Citizenship General DiscussionID -- Driver Licence
Hi guys!

Had a question for you... My husband and I moved to Oklahoma back in May last year from Hawaii. I applied for citizenship here in September, and my interview is on May 15th. On the date-giving letter, it says that i should bring a government issued ID, so of course I was planning on bringing my Driver's licence with me. The "problem" is that I haven't changed it to an Oklahoma ID, instead I still have my Hawaii ID. I do not own a car, so I use my licence for ID only. Do you think they will give me trouble for that? I'd hate to change it now because we may be moving back to Hawaii in a few weeks/months. Would you still recommend that I get a Oklahoma Driver's Licence?

Thanks guys!

Why would you address it to the NC Service Center? There are only 2 service centers that handle K1's, either California or Vermont. You base the filing location on where the USC petitioner lives.

This question should be in the K1 forum.

Tracy - water down some fennel tea in a bottle for her. It'll calm her down and she'll sleep. Then you drink a cup and have a nap too! ;)

My pediatrician's nurse gave me that remedy for Josie when she was newborn. She was my fussy one.

I think it works out easy pregnancy = fussy baby. Difficult pregnancy = easier baby. With Jaden I couldn't keep anything down, and he was a 4 lb. preemie, but he was happy and smiley. Slept a lot. Very easy most of the time. With Josie, I got sick ONE time, she was healthy and full term, but was fussy as all get out, and allergic to 9 kinds of formula before we found one that worked for her (and cost $23/can!)
