US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionConsulate process for spouse
I filed I-130 in 2005. It was approved but on the form, the attorney put that he was going to adjust here in the US. But come to find out, since he came in illegally, he cannot adjust here, we have to do consulate process. So we filed I-824 Action on an approved petition and put on there the consulate. We haven't received anything since Feb. 2008. Do i need to file I-129F?????

Thank you for writing all that detail. I think that's what helps people prepare for the reality of the process. Congratulations!

thanks... hopefully it helps... because when you ask someone and then another one tell you something else and again... better get the whole thing from someone and compare with another one... not just parts...

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your story. I filed an I-130 for my husband in 2005 and it was approved but the attorney we went through, put on the application that he was going to file here. Unfortunately, he doesn't qualify because he came in without inspection so I had to file I-824 Action on an approved petition. I filed it Feb. 08, I received approval on April 10, 2008. I haven't received anything yet, it's been 98 days and NOTHING. I don't think I have to file the I-129F since we're married here in the US and he lives here and has never left. But if anybody knows, I'd appreciate the info. He hasn't seen his parents and family in 9 years. I'm so ready for the consulate process and thanks to you, we'll be able to prepare ourselves, right. Que dios te bendiga y FELICIDADES!
