CR1 = 2 years conditional
IR1 = 10 years GC

I don't think the term is 'unconditional'

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresjerusalem consulate !!!
they schedule interviews every 1st and 2nd week of the month. That's around 1-15th days of the month

your case was completed July 17th, so you're probably going to get scheduled next month (August 1-15th).
I don't know how packed the Jerusalem USE is but if they are not as jam packed as other consulates are, you should be looking at early September interview. If it's jam packed, you're looking at longer waiting period.

To give you some hope though, sometimes when they have interview slots left open, they will give you interview date outside the normal scheduling days.

Good luck to you.

hey go in the morning and stay in line
mine took about two hours to get it
they give u on the same day
the time to get that is from 7am to 10 am from m-f
u dont need any papers with u to get that
they did not ask me any divorce papers or death certificate either
just carry the passport and id with u
they just ask u for oath and thats it
good luck
abby n sheryl

Still, bring the divorce papers, some gets asked... some don't. You don't want to waste a day because you didn't bring the required docs.
And yes, follow the 10 days marriage ban. it will save you heartaches in the long run.
Extension of stay in the Philippines cost less than USD100. Philippine Customs and Immigrations is located in intramuros. FYI.

You do. I am divorced. We had to send it in. However make sure you specify is your only copy so that you need it back, otherwise you might not see it again.

If you (the beneficiary) had a divorce before, you should send it in.
Otherwise, your spouse's divorce papers is not needed for the DS230.
DS230 package is an assessment of the beneficiary's eligibility.
You need to bring it to the embassy though.

Hello Everyone!

My husband has his interview in casablanca on August 5th. The packet says that his birth. cert. and police records and all of that was received and accepted by the NVC, but doe he need to get those forms again for the interview? Also it says he needs to bring a copie of my tax returns can it be copies or does it have to be the originals?

Thank you!! blush.gif

it would be safer to bring another set of everything you forwarded to NVC, in case something gets lost, he can furnish the embassy on the spot.
include also, photos, chat logs, emails, snail mails, remmittances, etc. etc.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWHAT WILL YOU ANSWER??
QUOTE (Rami-Becky @ Jul 31 2009, 06:06 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I am not expert in this, but I can talk about my experience in quick marriage. I met my wife in August 30, 2007 and we got married officially in November 21,2007, and our wedding party was Feb 7 2008. According to our culture when a couple wants to get engaged, they have to singe their marriage contract in the court which means they are officially married, but not socially. So, according to my marriage contract we had a quick marriage, but it was not a big issue in the interview. The CO says " You guys got married after 2 months and half". I said "yes we get married officially after this short time because I knew from the beginning " first meeting" she is the one so does she, and we are old enough to take the right decision. We were falling in love day by day." Then, he stopped me and smiled. That was my experience. I think getting married in short time is not the issue, but how you answer to a such question. I think you do not need to memories things by hearts to answer, but just say what was the real reason of getting married from your beloved. Be simple, and talk naturally without hesitation. I hope I helped at least little bit.

yes.gif that was great way to ans. it.

Same thing apply to me. I am hearing impaired girl and met hearing impaired guy on deaf social wesbite. We fell in love and decided to get married withing 4 months of dating. He came to India to marry me and left for USA in 2 weeks. He is a divorcee and a father of 3 kids (they live with his ex-wife).

What are the impact on my interview questions?

Good luck to all here!!

How long did he stay with you? My husband stayed for almost 4 weeks.

He stayed for more than 2 weeks.

Alright, I really don't know what to say since I'm going through my own pre-interview jitters about our short courtship and quickie marriage. blink.gif but i've have been adviced to bring as much evidence that i can carry and provide and just answer truthfully.

You might want to read this too... http://www.visajourn...rview_Questions
My husband and I are going over our timeline (from the day that we met, to proposal, to wedding, til interview date) to make sure that I can answer without hesitation. I'm having problems memorizing the #of days he was here... I know it is silly. So he tells me to just keep repeating Janxx to Febxx if I can't remember. hehe. But I've been practicing through looking at various interview questions posted here. Thanks to a lot of VJ members, we can anticipate certain questions that will be asked.

Good luck and I hope you get your case completed soon!

2. WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH HER KIDS? -Be a good friend and stepfather. Try to win their affection but still maintain a degree of respect as their stepfather. I'd go to xxx with them, do xxx with them.

3. WE DATE FOR 4 MONTHS AND GOT MARRIED ON THE FIRST IN PERSON VISIT, TELL ME HOW DANGEROUS IS THAT FOR OUR FUTURE OR HIS VISA/INTERVIEW BEEN APPROVED?

well, the stamp on my passport is kind of different. actually it just aa words nothing like circule or triange shape just pure words and its says "applicant advised of the provisions of section 216 and of the procedures for having the conditional baisis of his/her status removed by 9/18/09" date is written by hand by officer at POE." is this ok ??

My concern would be that it says you must remove conditions by 9/18/09, which is two days before the POE...

EDIT: Oh I see... your passport says that, not your wife's?

i made mistake, the date is 9/18/2011. would it be ok if there is no date of entry in passport??

I don't think they stamp date of entry.
It would be good until you receive the GC... then you don't have to worry about anything.
Get a resident card or learner's permit (driving) so that you can have a valid ID here in US.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWHO SHOULD REALLY BE PUT ON AP
I agree. Immigration is not a right. And AP is not about racial discrimination; safety of the general public is a big concern.

QUOTE (trinket @ Sep 30 2009, 12:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
OP, I understand you are frustrated but lets get things right

--Immigration is not a right its a privileged.
--US as a country has a right to give or deny immigration to anyone it wants
--US has the biggest concerns of security.

If you think AP shouldn't be based on where a person is from, you are WRONG. Forget US, even India doesn't give everyone from Pakistan visa and vice a versa.

The question is about security, I am not being racist here but there has been accounts where the intending immigrant has done harm to particular country and that's why rules are so strict for certain countries to attain visa. Even with Indian muslim male, they go through AP, its not the end of the tunnel, its just one of the passage you have go through.

So chin up and accept the AP rather than complaining how unfair it is. Doesn't matter how much you hate the rules, rules are rules, you have to accept it.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWife's CR-1 interview next month. Her son is coming with her.
contact NVC. K3 approval is valid for 1 year. You might still be able to switch to K3. If your lawyer included your step-son's petition with the K3, he can come over with the mom. But if not, he gotta go through the whole process again on his own. You might want to find somebody to take care of him while he is in his home country while the new petition is being processed.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureswife got approved but CO needs to see new passport
it takes 14 working days to get a passport in the Phil. (expedite) and 21 working days for normal processing.
plus, once the embassy receives your passport you have to get in line to have the visa printed and put on your passport so they will tell you extra 2-3 weeks. Just be happy you didn't get denied.

Also, in DFA... if the husband's surname sounds too foreign they will ask for a copy of CFO certificate before they process your new passport under your husband's surname.

Check Phil. forum on how to obtain the Certificate.
