That is something to think about... I felt like I was going to die worrying about the K1 and planning the wedding, plus some other stressful things I had going on at the time. Both immigration and wedding planning are stressful, so keep in mind that you might feel like having a nervous breakdown every day for several months wink.gif

My husband and I filed our K1 last year through the UK. Wow, 1 year, doesnt seem it! Anywho, we waited till we got the NOA2 to start planning, because at that time petitions were only staying at NSC for a week max. So I talked to a bunch of vendors starting in Feb and explained the situation. When we got the NOA2, I put deposits down, but only at places that let me switch the date if need be. That was in May. My husband got his interview early July and moved here the end of July. We got married on a Thursday the end of August. We had about 100 people there and everything went perfectly. We let his family know end of May and they were all able to make arrangements to come over (6 people). Obviously I bought my dress and bridesmaids dresses etc. before we knew the date. Its up to you how much risk you are willing to take but it definitely can be done. Just dont be one of those people who files in Jan and sets the wedding date for April.... Not going to happen smile.gif

I cant get over the number of people who thought my husband (then fiance) could just walk into the country since he was from the UK. And how many people (including my family who have been told 10 times already) think he can just work now that we are married. At the same time, there are always those people who think he's marrying me for a greencard (cause the US is SO much better than the UK whistling.gif ). I usually keep most of my excitement to my parents, my husband and VJ unless its something obvious, like his visa or his EAD. Its amazing how quickly you forget all the stress of the K1 though once they get here! On a side note, I just wanted to add we got his AP today in the mail, so we'll actually make our Christmas flight!!! YAY!

Many people have said that they were able to view a copy of their check on their online bank statement once USCIS cashed it and were able to obtain their file number from the back of the check. I am usually able to view an image of any check that I've written and which has been cashed on my online statement, but my check to USCIS is showing up as cashed but there is not an electronic image of the check. Does anyone know why?

Maybe this is a silly question because there's not much I can do about it now, but for my I-129F I did not include my fiance's province. He told me that Turkey didn't have states/provinces. While looking up some information online I just realized that Turkey does in fact have provinces. The province that he is in has the same name as the city where he lives. On the forms, I included the name of his city but left the state/province field blank. Do you think this could cause an RFE? Provinces are not included in the mailing address in Turkey.

I know I can't do anything about it now, but just wondering what you all think about it.

On another note...I am a bit confused by the USCIS processing times. For the I-129F the processing timeframe has said April 29th, 2007 for a couple of months now. What does that mean?

I signed up for status updates via USCIS which are to be sent to my email. Do those updates include the "touches"? How do people know when their case has been touched? I haven't recieved any notices yet, so I'm assuming mine hasn't, but just wanted to be sure how to check on that.

I sent in my letter to expedite my case due to military deployment on November 9th. This resulted in a touch, of course.

I called USCIS, they told me that my file was "called for by an Officer" and being reviewed for final approval.

I also emailed them and got a reply back from an actual "Officer" from the "CSC Military" email address. The email said exactly as below:

The petition is with an Officer for Adjudication. Please allow 30 days for action to occur.

This Sunday marks my 30 day mark. My case has not even been touched since the day I sent in my request for expedite. Should I go ahead and email back the Officer or still just wait out until the 30 day point? What could possibly be holding things up?

I'm not "worried"...I just want to get everything moving. It's not like the waiting process gets easier after you get an NOA2. I feel for u that you haven't received your NOA2. That sucks...and I wish u the best. But don't think once you get the NOA2 that the worrying and anxiousness disappear.

so it takes about 6 weeks for a crate to fill up? Damn, how freaking big are these crates!? lol

I emailed the same Officer back last night and asked him if he thought it would be sent before Christmas, he hasnt even emailed me back yet...normally he writes back within 24 hours. sad.gif

wouldn't the "6 weeks" be very different for everyone?? if u were approved 1 week before the crate filled up then wouldnt your wait time be one week?? how can it be a steady 6?

I was told via email by an Officer that I should allow 30 days for my NOA2 paperwork to be sent to the NVC. The officer referred to not sending out papers individually, but by crates (as said here before).

Is 30 days the latest turn around for most of you with NOA2's from CSC??

Should I expect to wait the entire 30 days or maybe a little more/less??

I'm glad to report that my fiance is flying here to DC on Friday:) Her English is not so great so I'm not sure how she will do by herself in Immigration. Is this something I should worry about or will it be okay/expected by the Officers that she doesn't entirely understand their instructions??

do the dates represent cases completed on the day in question?

in other words, when a graph says "as of Jan 6, 2008 the average case took 15 days" does that mean that cases completed on Jan 6, 2008 took 15 days on average?

Don't sweat all this too much. A lot of folks don't follow the suggested format what so ever and get by just fine. Personally, I made mine following the suggested guidelines from the USCIS site. I used the Acco fasteners and in my case wrote "Resubmission" on my cover page since this is the second petition I sent for my fiancée (We had to withdrawal her first a few years ago.) I did not use tabs either time. I used a simple table of contents. Don't worry about mistakes in order and presentation. It's the content that counts!
