IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAugust I-130 approvals, lets do NVC together.
I am going to call a real person here in a bit. I keep getting the "all operators are busy, try again later" response.

I keep calling the AVR and it says that my case has not been received. I called and talked to an operator and he said the same thing. LOL my case would be the one that gets lost in the mail... USCIS is like that bum friend who owes you money... "It's in the mail"

This is awesome thanks!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAGE DIFFERENCE?
I don't think it is a big deal unless it looks like a "mail order bride" so to speak. Like if one person is 65 marrying a 20 year old. That may draw more scrutiny, but if it is a valid relationship, then I don't think there would be an issue.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat is RFE trick?
The "RFE Trick" is what people call when they call the 1-800 customer service number and when the prompt asks if this call is in reference to a Request For Evidence (RFE) then press this number. The call is then transferred to the Service Center where the case is being processed.

But USCIS knows of this "Trick" and like the above posters stated, they will not give you information unless it is a legitimate RFE request. Don't waste your time. USCIS is smarter than people give them credit for.

I believe that once the cases are approved and sent to NVC, each petition will have a $70 AOS (Affidavit of Support fee) and a $330(I think) visa fee for each person. Then once the cases are sent to the consulate, there is the $80 biometrics fee and they will each have to have a medical examination. Those can vary depending on what is required.

visa fee is $400 (it is like $355 + $45 security fee) each.

Ahhh thanks! I was looking for the info!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat date does the USCIS go by? Received date or NOA1
They "say" they will honor the actual date that the case was received at the office, but since there was such a backlog, they have been using the NOA1 date as the "received" date. A whole bunch of rubbish if you ask me...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshow can you get a hold of CSC ?
good luck on that... I have been reading that most of these calls are not going directly to anyone except a customer service rep. They know just as much as you do and if they know more, they are rude and won't tell you anything.

USCIS Service CentersField Office
The service center is the one that will likely process your petitions (depending on the type). These are California, and Vermont for the I-130 petitions and other petitons as well.

The local Office is the one in the State or region that the United States Citizen resides. You say your husband is from Maryland, so the local office there would be the Local Office

yes you can send in more information regarding your hardships. I believe it is the department of homeland security. Bu check with I2US .net for more info, they are great for waiver information

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Background Checks...
no it was not his passport. He was able to get that last year with no issues. I am just wondering if they check records like that... as far as the criminal stuff... he works as a cop in his hometown... he is a upstanding citizen...
NicoleX08FemaleMexico2008-12-22 16:22:00
Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Background Checks...
He doesn't have any criminal history... He came to the US in 1995 when by hus family... he worked here and never had any trouble with the law. Last year he was picked up by the local police and detained... they just picked him up to determine his legal status. When they determined he was not legal they notified immigration and he was deported. The issue we are worried about is his younger brother applied for a Mexican ID under my husbands name while my husband was here in the US... I am wondering if they will see that an ID was issued in his name...
NicoleX08FemaleMexico2008-12-21 18:43:00
Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Background Checks...
I know that I will have to provide an I-601 and I-212 for my husband in Mexico. Before they determine if he can file the waivers, what background checks do they do? Just files in the United States or do they pull records from his home country (Mexico) as well? I am confused about that part of the process and any clarification would be great!

Thanks!

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaDoes Anyone know where the "Border Zone" ends?
thank you Franklie. You all have given me great advice! I currently work at a bank in Ohio. They only have branches in PA, WV, and OH. I am hoping that if I do relocate, that I can get a job at a bank in the US in like TX, NM, or AZ. I would probably use my mothers address, I have been using her address for the immigration paperwork anyhow. Thanks for the great advice guys! dancin5hr.gif
