IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresExpedite I-130 being requested
Good luck with the expedite. Depending on your situation, USCIS may request the evidence for the expedite, or they might not. Going with the Senators office may work, but it may be a moot situation since you have alreaady requested an expedite on your own. But either way, Good Luck!

husband called uscis director and questioned about the petitions pending at VSC, and guess what the director answered? he said theres nothing he can do about it. how stupid is that?!!! i wish someone would just throw a bomb at vsc so we can all be transfered to csc crying.gif

Totally not cool. I understand you are frustrated, we all are, but you cannot use that typeof language nowadays. That sentence could be looked at as a terrorist threat and put your case under more review, causing a bigger delay and more frustation. They know that this site and others exist, so being naive enough to think that they don't read these posts is not a good situation to be in. I understand your frustration and totally empathize, but just think carefully about the word choices next time.

Join the club. It has been one year and 2 months since i saw my husband. crying.gif
YOu brought up a valid point, so i called the CSR at USCIS and she said that the 2 years apply for before filing. You had to have seen them within two years before filing. While it is pending, the two years do not apply. I wish us all a speedy processing. star_smile.gif

This is wrong information, 2 years meeting is for K-1 visas. For spousal visas you just have to be married and have had met once. I am speaking it from experience. I haven't seen my husband for 3 and half years, I was approved at CSC without any glitch, as a matter of fact, you don't even have to give evidence of meeting at USCIS level. But I do know this will raise a lot of questions at Consulate level but nowhere with USCIS guideline does it say that married couples need to have met together within the last 2 years, the only condition for marriage couple is that, if its a proxy marriage then the marriage needs to be "consummated" after the proxy marriage.

She was asking about this for the Consulate level. I think with all the evidence she has, it should be fine. Just take all that documentation, the most current records such as the most current bank statement and insurance info, and maybe some affidavits from friends and families verifying the relationship. Good Luck!

I thought I read somewhere on this board that they were asked if they had seen their spouse in the past 2 years... so maybe the standard is 2 years or less...

From looking at your timeline, it looks like your I-130 and I-129f were approved by CSC on the same day. It may be possible that CSC only forwarded your K3 and held on to your CR1/IR1. In the past this was true and you had to file an I-824 to have the I-130 forwarded to NVC.

Lately they have been forwarding both petitions to NVC, and you have the choice pursuing either one.

Regarding your question about not getting the auto-response, I think several people reported problem with yahoo accounts, but it would be best to call them back in a few to see if they received your attachment.

Are you thinking of pursuing the I-130 as a way around the 221(g)?

hello friends
yes uscis sent I130 to nvc same time. and yes i can start IV process embassy told that. called from my cell phone and aske is they recive my email. they said it will talk time. it reallly woory me.

Don't be worried. It takes about 2 weeks for them to respond to emails.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about I-864
you could ask someone to be a cosponser as a back up, but it will not be required until you are ready to fill out the paperwork. The consulates do request an updated version at the interview, so once you file your 2008 taxes next year, prepare the updated I-864.

I am curious if that is how it reads on the USCIS site? when I check for a touch, or approval I really don't know what to see if it is approved?

When someone says they were "touched" they are referring to the case portfolio listing. You have to sign up with a user ID and password. When you log in, you have to add cases to your portfolio using the Case Numbers. Once you add it, it will show up in your portfolio listings. There is a spot in there that says "Last Updated" and it will have a date underneath it. When this date changes, that is what we refer to as a "touch" When you click on the case itself it will bring you to the page that says, Pending, Request for Evidence Sent, Approval Notice Sent etc...

Yes, I am aware of the 'touched' meaning the dated changes, but was not sure about he APPROVED change. Thanks for the information.

Ronnie

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresU.S.Embassy Interview Document Requirements
QUOTE (V.J.man @ Aug 24 2008, 12:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello V.J.s,

My wife and i have received the notification of appointment letter from the N.V.C. with certain instructions on the interview process there at the U.S.Embassy in Manila, However; i am a bit confused because according to some of the experiences that i have read regarding interviews there in manila, they have issued both pink and white slips to some of you and have asked you for additional documentation?. I had read in their website that the U.S.Embassy in manila is no longer requiring that I-864 forms be notarized, yet some of you where given white slips because they asked for a notarization on that particular document. Could someone please shed some light regarding this matter and what exactly are these documents being required of the consul's at the interview. Any ones help concerning this matter is greatly appreciated as i would love to relieve some stress from my spouse and myself. Thank You in advance. smile.gif

Although it may not be "required" it may be a standard practice. I would get it notarized just in case.

I thought I read somewhere that NVC updates their AVR system like 1 or 2 times a week. I think Tuesday was one of the days. I would call tomorrow and Tuesday to see if there is any change.
