PhilippinesLost pass port

I am about to send in the paper work for a K1 visa.My fiancee has lost her pass port, one of her friends told her she needs to hire a lawyer to help her get a new one. Surely not. Any one have any imformation on what she needs to do?Lea lives in Butuan city maybe go to CDO and apply ? Thanks for any help.

Based on my little knowledge she doesn't necessarily need to hire. There are law firm offices where she can get an affidavit of loss from an attorney, notarized, complete the requirements for passport application then refile. It takes 3-5 days to claim your passport. But if you are referring to submitting the I-129F paper work, I don't think you need her passport, just the petitioner's photocopied stamped passport as proof of meeting.

Hope this bit of information helped.
Good luck.

Philippinesinterview experience
Hello VJ's! Can anyone give a list of the slip colors given after interview and its corresponding indication? I am into reading of the basics here and still far from the interview since we are just on our way to filing on Friday but these slips are confusing me now. This is a common question here so I know it will help a lot.

Best wishes to all!

You have beautiful kids Marie good.gif

I also want to send back my kids here for college. It cheaper and I still have faith in the quality of education here... as long as they get admitted to UP or MSU in Marawi or IIT in Iligan. If not, then I will cross the bridge when I get there. My kids are still in grade school, 3rd and 5th grade respectively so it is still a long way to go. Plans may still change with regards to their schooling. But as of now, coming back here for college is what i have discussed with them and they are agreeable to it. (as of now)

Thanks Gay! They should be thankful having me as their mama, haha. Hey, your kids are so guwapa and guwapo too, saw them in your friendster. We really can't tell how things may change in time, still a long way to track down..

Your interview is fast approaching, right? Good luck, I know you will be on the positive side, you seem smart and determined.

Best regards to you and your fiance'..kisses to the kids.

Hello! I kept tracking your posts since we have started the process, I do have two derivatives just like dbears (Hi Gay!). But what I am confused now is whether to enroll my kids this June, this is out of I-134 issue but related as well with k2s. Our girls go for a montessori school costing much for the enrollment/books only to know we only got few months before leaving assuming we get approved by September. Moneywise, it will lessen expenses and instead just use the money for other fees in this journey.

Hi! I had the same problem last year after i got our interview appointment from the USEM if i'm going to enroll the kids or not. Our interview was May, it turned out fine but there was a delay in the issuance of the visas due to the fact that USCIS overlooked my youngest kid's name when they processed our paperworks. Her name was not included in the appointment letter, my fiance called the NVC and i also doublechecked USEM about it. We were advised to fax a request to USEM to include her to the interview. She did her medical and i paid for her interview, during the interview i told the CO what happened and he granted the request but there might be some delays for visa issuance. It took 21 days for us to receive the visas. Classes were about to begin during that time so i was hesitant to enroll them or not. My kids studies in a Chinese school so it's really a fortune to have them enrolled. My fiance and I talked about it and decided to save the money for the plane tickets. It was peak season during that time so i waited for another month to booked for cheaper flights.

We left for US mid-July, just enough for the kids to have ample time to adjust before school starts in August. Here in Missouri, school usually starts couple of weeks early than other states. If you wish to enroll them in a public school, almost everything is for free. Books, school bus and even meals if you will get qualified, depends on the annual household income.Since i got 4 kids i applied for it but my husband's income just meet the criteria of reduced meals(breakfast/lunch). Well, life here in the US is not always a bed of roses, it's not always the way we pictured it out. So we sometimes really need to do the best of what we can do in order to save and help our husbands as well.

My oldest son who is supposed to be in 2nd HS, but he went back to 8th grade . Mostly, kids are about 18-19 years old when they graduate in HS over here. It's sometimes quite frustrating that they will get 2 years behind. Anyway, i noticed that education in the Philippines is quite advance, more advantage if kids studied in a private school. I'm not trying to brag, but my kids are doing pretty good in school, both in academics and extra-curricular activities. In fact, they always got straight A's. My 8th grader is candidate for valedictorian and won 2nd place both in Math and Science contest for Ozarks shools competition which dozen of school participated. My 4th grader is the school Spelling Bee champion and competed with 94 different schools, sad to say he lost sad.gif . Anyway, it's the experience that counts, and of course to think that he is new in this place is worth to be proud of as a parent.

Well, in my opinion it depends if you want to enroll them or not, the best thing is you will have the visa soon.... wink.gif

GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS!

Hello honeysweet, I am so inspired knowing your kids are doing excellent in school. I have 2 girls and my eldest is also entering 3rd yr h.s.Too bad that they will be 2 years behind as they enter school there, I am just so excited to put her into college here as my parents retire there and be the one to attend to her here in the Philippines, time and moneywise. no0pb.gif

Very true stating how life is there, I may not been there yet but with my parents and sisters being there and some batchmates in school I can tell with their stories, I am actually anticipating on that.lol. All my hopes and plans of being there are focused on having a 'new' but good and happy family. We are so blessed that He lead us to persons who would accept not only you or me, but our kids as well.

Thank you so much honeysweet.Congratulations to your kids. Hats off for being a good mom, it all reflects in our kids. good.gif

PhilippinesI-134 for K2 question
QUOTE (dbears @ Apr 15 2008, 12:03 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello Maria. Are you still in Naga? are there no school there that will allow you to just pay on per month basis?

My kids attend a non-traditional school here, more of the multiple intelligence, multi-disciplinary approach and not textbook dependent. So the tuition is kinda expensive even compared to traditional private schools here.

I checked the school that my kids will be attending in NC. Their school year this year starts on August 25. Although we have interview sched next month and would probably have our visa soon thereafter, we don't plan to go to the US till end of july or early August pa.

What I did was talk to the school directress even before the class ended last last march and have told her about the situation, she then discussed it with the school board and she told me that they would allow me to just pay on a per month basis and won't require me to pay registration fee and other miscellaneous fee. So the kids will still go to school here June and probably part or whole month of July.

Though the grades won't be honored but at least they will be learning new skills during the 2months stay in school. In their school, the kids learn more through experiments and playing, workshops and community visits. There is open interaction and sharing of ideas between teachers and students. Not unlike traditional school where teachers talk, kids listen. Each day spent in that school is really priceless for my kids that's why I can't give it up just becoz we will be leaving 2 months after school starts.

Well, just weigh your priorities and your options. You can enroll them in art class or music class while waiting or you can order homeschooling materials so you could homeschool them whilst you are still here. Whatever you choose, I know you will have your kids best interest in your heart. good.gif

Best of luck Maria, I hope you will get your approval soonest. God bless always. rose.gif

Thank you Gay. Yes, excluding enrollment/books/misc., they accept monthly scheme of payment for tuition fees, but really this is a Montessori school which costs about P20k for their enrollment adding up the monthly fees will be much of a money why I am into deciding whether to enroll them or not. It will only be 4-5 mos.from June before we leave (I pray) and besides as they transfer in the US what will be credited is their previous card not the grades for the later months. Your suggestion of enrolling them to a music class may be an option, my eldest girl is into guitars and has a real good voice.
It really entails much to be a 'good' mother like you goms out there. Maybe if I don't consider things on the part of those who helps me like my fiance', I wouldn't care making right decisions like this.

Thank you so much.

Stay beautiful all moms!

I'd have the Kids continue their schooling. their education is the important factor. having to catch up on their education will just add to the adjustment when coming here.

Hi Roy and Yazi! Yes, education is the greatest tool in life. Since September is the start of school in the US, I am into options coz their grades in the later months (June-October) won't be honored rather the previous grades on the last school year. Whew!! I wish money grew on trees..LOL.

Thank you so much for that piece of advice.

sometimes you could say its part of the "culture" too like we tend to be seem so polite on not to hurt or offend the person we're talking to (in a way)... people here in the states most likely goes with a YES or a NO answer. its a quite different in the phil... my husband always ask me a certain question whether i like this food or not or if i like this dress or not and most often than not, i always give him a long explanation about my point of views and its not a clear yes or no answer which is kinda bit frustrating to him lol... i told him, its not like i dont like it or i like it, its just that its ok, or i dont mind liking it or not lol... (pointless reasoning) heheh... but what i really meant was that its hard for me to talk negative on a certain things so rather than saying i dont like it (period) i often say, "i dont mind" and it goes on and on lol... like when i say "its up you" (coz i really dont care lol) but he'd take it seriously as if i dont have the mind of my own or something that i have to speak with my own mind (which i did... as ive said, "its up to you" lol) whistling.gif when i gave my views its not always black and white as most of the time, it has to be gray-ish lol ... i wish you'll settle things up and its just a minor thing. somehow you both will learn to understand each other more and more and its just part of the growing relationship... QUOTE (RyaNRiza @ Apr 16 2008, 08:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Does it happen all the time? I hope not because if it does, looks like it's not a good sign.

When I feel unloved I tend to withdraw inside my shell and don't talk so much the way I normally do. Ryan is quite sensitive to my feelings and he knows quite well how to deal with my emotional needs when I am not feeling good inside. One of the qualities I love about my fiance is that he always see to it that he protects my heart, and he is indeed the protector of my heart.

If your problem only happens once in a while, I think she feels unloved or has needs that are not met. Communication in long distance relationship is very challenging. Sometimes we misinterpret/misunderstand each other's messages specially during chats where all you could see and read are words typed on a chat window, and you are to interpret the feelings of the other person which sometimes are misinterpreted that leads to argument. However, if you already know the person quite well, misunderstanding is much much lesser.

Just my thought.

-Riza

Very nice thought which is also true to me and my fiance'. He knows if I feel low , sad, happy just with the way I reply on our talks. He even knows when to hide bcoz am having PMS rofl.gif
He knows where to tickle me, he would do a funny dance for me. We all have the childish thing in us, no matter which stage of growth we belong. We never end our talks with a miusnderstanding or a hangin' discussion. We have to set aside those prides, lol to keep our long distance relationship alive.

Good day Riza!

Philippinescommunication situation
It would be easy to answer if there are no pretensions. Another is using a different language could be a barrier to express fully. But with the simple thing of not being able to chat on a scheduled time, I think it's an easy task for your girlfriend to inform you by leaving an offline message or just text you.as to why she won't be able to talk to you. Maybe how a question is delivered or constructed can affect the perception of the person being asked thus may cause an indirect answer and a long discussion.

I hope things get resolved, communication is the very tool.

Hi! Let me share a little knowledge about #2. Like on my daughter's case, my name (mother) was misspelled on her birth certificate. To anticipate getting an RFE, I did get an Affidavit of discrepancy and was only charge P200.There is actually no further processing on this. So if your gf's father is still living, he can secure an affidavit of discrepancy for your gf by bringing valid IDs to attest that the said misspelled name and the real name he holds is ONE person. That easy and fast. smile.gif

PhilippinesDelbros Text us that we will be receiving our VISA!
Congratulations!

So to make it clear, when should we pay Delbros? Can we pay as soon as the packet arrives at USEM? or wait for the MNL case #, since this might be needed for case identification? I've read applicants paying a month ahead and yet after getting approved on the interview they still have to wait.

Thanks.
