Heh. Reading this thread is so fun! My husband just can't get Tagalog right, though he so wants to learn. The words he can remember are, of course, the "bad" ones. P.I. was the first.
He actually got a phrasebook, which I don't think works that well... When he's in the mood, we have a Tagalog swapping thing in bed before we go to sleep. He usually starts with the "Sa-an po ang kubeta?" biggrin.gif

You're from Cleveland, Ohio, my fiance's from there also. Too funny, of all the places "kubeta" type nya itanong, hahaha.

Here's my vocabulary I have learned from my wife:

Visayan/Cebuano

Gihigugma Kita (I love you)
Gimingaw ko nimo (I miss you)
Agay, akong lobot sakit (OUCH, my butt hurts!)
Palaaway (trouble maker) - my favorite word!
kapoy (tired)
Gutom (hungry)
Busog (full)
Pag Sure? Tambling ko! Sige go! (are you sure? Go for it! Okay, I'm going!)
Lamia ani oiii (Yummie, tastes good!)
Kauna pud! (Food again!)
Salamat Ginoo for the kaun (that's my personal blessing over the food)
asa (where)
akong baby mama (my baby mama)
Akuna gyud ni (That's me!)
Aja aja (Go, go) I think its a Korean expression

NGIT NGIT ANGLANGIT (not sure the spelling, but they love to laugh when I try to say it) I think it means something about the dark and something else obsurd....

Whewww!! That should be tough! Not simply tagalog but Bisayan, you're good! Ngit ngit ang langit...the clouds are dark????? innocent.gif

Thats interesting, I didnt know kuripot means Jewish ..................................i dont mean to turn this into a negative thread but I dont think you should be generalizing people like that. I heard about a few different groups of people in the Philippines are Kuripot, and I didnt hear anyone mention Jewish. It is not good to generalize groups of people like that.

Hmm, this turned serious.LOL..That's actually not generalizing and exactly referring to a certain group of people, but that's how my fiance' would usually say since I can't translate the meaning of 'kuripot' in English. Maybe that's just a slang term for them, not really sure until I am able to learn slang english..LOL

Orig and photocopy of:

Marriage cert (for verification purposes ung orig. if humingi ng copy, just give the xerox copy. they

Also bring these:
Correspondence (sama mo ung envelope)
Pictures (manipis at konti lng, maliit ung opening ng window. Dont bring the huge photo album)
Remitances
Bank statements
Telephone bills
ETC..

Basta any proof of identity/relationship. Only the pictures and correspondence lang ang tiningnan nila.
Then sa pre screener binalik nya yung 2x2 ko pic na sinend sa NVC. Kasama yun ng DS230. Then pinagsign ako sa DS230. The prescreener writes all your answers from her questions on the back of one of your documents. So pls remember everything as the consul will ask the same set of questions to you. Well if nagsasabi ka naman ng totoo automatic ang sagot mo. Kahit paulit ulitin pa. In my case i noticed yung ilang questions eh naitanong na itatanong uli sa kalagitnaan binaligtad lang yung porma ng tanong.

Questions:

How are you?
Fine
What's your name?

Who's your petitioner?

How old are you?

When is you bday?(your husband's)

Do you have kids together?
Nope
Does he has kids?

Do you have kids?

Are you married before?
Nope.
Does he entered marriage before you?
Nope
So he is your 1st?
Yes he is sir ( i was confused..i wanted to say 1st what? i thought 1st kiss, 1st bf?) rofl.gif
Are you sure?
Yes,very much.
What's the date of your marriage?

When did you meet?

Where did you meet?

Have you been together outside the Philippines?
We haven't been sir.
Did you go to Hongkong?
I never did.
Have you ever been to any country?
Nope
When does he petitioned you?
Last year sir.
When does he acquired his naturalization?
2007
Where does he lives?

Does he lives with his parents?

How does he entered the US?
(By taking a plane. joke!) He was petitioned in 2001. (again confused. i thought is he asking the
means of transportation. NYEK!) laughing.gif
Who is his petitioner?

Is your husband a Filipino?
Yes he is a Filipino (the consul raised his kilay and forming a small O of is pout and then
smiled)dipa tapos sagot oipogi nagre

Have you ever been to Canada? (He enumerated list of countries pa)
Nope lahat (kulit talaga inuulit lang nya)

Is he working right now?

When you two met, is he working?
Yes. We were on the same company. We were on the same line. I was the XXX and he is the

So why did he go to d US when he has a job here?
Because he was petitioned in 2001.

Ah Ok..

(iling sha at natawa. I think sa panlilito nya sakin sha ang tuluyang nalito)

Cn i see your pictures, cards?

(After few pages)

Did he go to hongkong? (Ginuu! hongkong na naman)
Nope.

This one? (referring to the picture my hubby is standing behind d castle)
Oh that was in California. Anaheim.

Did you go on a trip together?
What picture sir?

This one? (because our background looks like in Thailand, he thought my makikita na shang butas)
That was the wedding of our friend. (my husband is wearing a barong. my namamasyal kayang
nakabarong?)

Where is this?
At work.

After that he got a card. Read the address. He was looking for postage stamp of america. Oh i forgot i answered that my hubby is unemployed as of now. He marked the checklist MNL-IV-22. Requiring co-sponsor even if my husband met the required income for the year 2007. Snabi ko lang unemployed. 2x ko pa sinabi yung "as of now"

he said "Ok wait for your # to be called and see the next step." The only thing that came out of my mouth is the big WHEEW! He then looked at me smiling again, "Are you OK?", "Yes, I am!"

I was called at window39.Paid the Delbros delivery fee.But i still have to comply first the AOS of my other sponsor. YAHOO!
