QUESTIONS AOUT DS 156

Since most of us have 2 first names, isn't it the 2nd name is considered middle name for them?
so I wrote my middle name (mother's family name) on 'other first and middle names'. Hope am right.

Do u intend to work in the US? Yes, with EAD. not sure but was told like that.

I don't have my Interview Appointment Letter yet, even my husband in the US haven't receive his copy yet. We are scheduled on Oct.23, interview. The NVC told my husband that it would take 2-4weeks to receive the copy, but of course the Petitioner in the US will receive his copy ahead of us.
Yes we do need to show the appointment letter during the Medical & interview, but it is also ok to print the appointment shown in your embassy website,where you need to enter your case # to retreive it. Our Petitioner can email it also to us & we can print it & use this during medical & interview, just in case the mailed Letter will be delayed.

one applicant was asked to bring her college diploma and PRC license.
for what reasons? Good tip though, thanks!

was planning to bring my credentials only.

but the CO asked for 2 DV, so i was asked again to pay delbros
we could then be asked to pay another one also for either birth cert or CENOMAR? they should make clear on this ahead of time.

If you are the beneficiary, then yes, you might as well send your BC. A lot of people received RFE for that one. Believe it or not, I even sent a CENOMAR as a proof that I am capable and free to marry my then fiance.

did they really got an RFE not submitting the beneficiary's birth cert.? I have read posts that the beneficiary's BC don't need to be submitted and also we followed the k1 Guide stating only the petitioner's BC as proof of citizenship. Now this makes me confused also and worried since I didn't submit.

Fely and I are not as far along as most in here. I have already purchased a plane ticket to go visit her this May, got my vaccinations, and reserved a hotel. I'm counting down the days until I board the plane. I'm really looking forward to our meeting and it is getting so exciting.

I'm still at the stage trying to decide whether to pay an attorney or try to obtain the K-1 visa on our own. There is one online firm that was recommended by a reputable company and their fee is reasonable. I believe the main reason of maybe using them is that they do this everyday and know exactly how to package everything and I will have unlimited access to attorney's with all my questions and concerns.

We are getting together all of the needed documents now before I visit her so that we will have what we need early to submit. I hope that the processing times will continue to decrease as the year progresses.

I'm looking forward to having discussions with everyone here and going through the journey of bringing my soon to be fiance to the US and marrying her. Have a great day everyone.

Hello Marie. My daughter's name was misspelled on the I-129F that Ricky submitted. We did include my birth certificate as well as the birth certificate of the two kids in the submission. It could have spelled out an RFE for us but thank God it passed through USCIS and NVC's hand without problem. I am just glad that only the call center agent at the US embassy manila visa services center noticed it while Ricky was dictating the spelling of our names.

. I really didn't noticed it until last night as I was making an overview of our piled documents here. Anyway, I rushed this morning and secured an Affidavit of Discrepancy, I am mailing it tomorrow together with my birth certificate,photocopied passport and PRC License to support the affidavit. This is to anticipate if we get an RFE..grrrr.

Hi Marie, my daughter's birth certificate also shows my incomplete name. It's even worse than your case. My name is Maria Teresa Roxanne but my daughter's birth certificate only showed Roxanne. Guess what?! Our papers were still approved at CSC. And now am scheduled for interview at the embassy on wed apr23. I thank God that the person handling our case was very understanding. Don't worry too much. May the Lord guide you and lead you in all the things that you will need to accomplish for this journey. God bless!

I regret that I just noticed today that on my 2nd daughter's birth certificate, my name as her mother was written as MA.Evelyna instead of a complete MARIA. We have submitted the I-129F and just got the NOA1. Can please anyone share any idea on what to do about this? I would like to settle things as early as possible not to cause further delays.

There's nothing you can do right now but pray that they won't give a big deal out of it and send you RFE. If ever they will send you one (God-forbid), I think you can use a notarized affidavit of discrepancy to show as proof that the names MA. and MARIA are one person (you).

Hi bora! Yes, Ma. is short for Maria, but we have to be particular with what is written on the birth certificate to avoid doubts on misrepresentation and should appear as it is on all pertaining documents.
