Since most of us have 2 first names, isn't it the 2nd name is considered middle name for them?
so I wrote my middle name (mother's family name) on 'other first and middle names'. Hope am right.

Do u intend to work in the US? Yes, with EAD. not sure but was told like that.

Sis, why just fill up now? tongue.gif Good luck! Sleep early.

QUOTE (mehere! @ Sep 18 2008, 04:52 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I don't have my Interview Appointment Letter yet, even my husband in the US haven't receive his copy yet. We are scheduled on Oct.23, interview. The NVC told my husband that it would take 2-4weeks to receive the copy, but of course the Petitioner in the US will receive his copy ahead of us.
Yes we do need to show the appointment letter during the Medical & interview, but it is also ok to print the appointment shown in your embassy website, where you need to enter your case # to retreive it. Our Petitioner can email it also to us & we can print it & use this during medical & interview, just in case the mailed Letter will be delayed.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresinterview today, got white and pink slip
one applicant was asked to bring her college diploma and PRC license.
for what reasons? Good tip though, thanks! good.gif was planning to bring my credentials only.

but the CO asked for 2 DV, so i was asked again to pay delbros
we could then be asked to pay another one also for either birth cert or CENOMAR? they should make clear on this ahead of time.

Congratulations!

If you are the beneficiary, then yes, you might as well send your BC. A lot of people received RFE for that one. Believe it or not, I even sent a CENOMAR as a proof that I am capable and free to marry my then fiance.

--Mae

BTW, I supposed you are on K1? You should post in K1 sections.

did they really got an RFE not submitting the beneficiary's birth cert.? I have read posts that the beneficiary's BC don't need to be submitted and also we followed the k1 Guide stating only the petitioner's BC as proof of citizenship. Now this makes me confused also and worried since I didn't submit. sad.gif

Hi everybody,

I just posted a short introduction on the "Introducing our members" forum. I will briefly introduce myself and the lady I met online and then share where we are in the process of obtaining a K-1 visa.

First of all I want to say that I am so glad to have found this web site and see that we all are on a journey to be with our loved one's and make a life together.

My name is Jeff and I'm 40 years old living in North Carolina. I met Fely, who is 36, online through filipinaheart.com in January of 2008. We have chatted, emailed, and talked on live cam daily and sometimes twice a day. I went through a divorce over 7 years ago and have only went out on a date twice in the past 6.5 years. A co-worker told me about filipinaheart.com and so I signed up for one month and so eight days later Fely said hi to me and then it has been wonderful getting to know her.

Fely and I are not as far along as most in here. I have already purchased a plane ticket to go visit her this May, got my vaccinations, and reserved a hotel. I'm counting down the days until I board the plane. I'm really looking forward to our meeting and it is getting so exciting.

I'm still at the stage trying to decide whether to pay an attorney or try to obtain the K-1 visa on our own. There is one online firm that was recommended by a reputable company and their fee is reasonable. I believe the main reason of maybe using them is that they do this everyday and know exactly how to package everything and I will have unlimited access to attorney's with all my questions and concerns.

We are getting together all of the needed documents now before I visit her so that we will have what we need early to submit. I hope that the processing times will continue to decrease as the year progresses.

I'm looking forward to having discussions with everyone here and going through the journey of bringing my soon to be fiance to the US and marrying her. Have a great day everyone.

Jeff

Hello Jeff! This is Maria, Michael and I also met through FilipinaHeart. He came to visit me last February 2008 and we are on our way to filing the petition this month without any lawyer assistance. We have been into reading and many couples in this site have good heart and are most willing to help, so much of making things easier for those who are just on the first steps of this journey. Besides, money don't grow on trees and I have to understand the financial aspect of my guwapo baby. tongue.gif

Mabuhay! Welcome to the Philippines!

Hello Marie. My daughter's name was misspelled on the I-129F that Ricky submitted. We did include my birth certificate as well as the birth certificate of the two kids in the submission. It could have spelled out an RFE for us but thank God it passed through USCIS and NVC's hand without problem. I am just glad that only the call center agent at the US embassy manila visa services center noticed it while Ricky was dictating the spelling of our names.

I hope the adjudicator that is or will be handling your case will also be a little lenient and would know and consider that MA. is just a shortened form of MARIA.

I wish you all the best always. rose.gif

Hi Gay! You're lucky about that, I wish the adjudicator would be that tired not to notice it. laughing.gif Sure laugh Maria headbonk.gif. I really didn't noticed it until last night as I was making an overview of our piled documents here. Anyway, I rushed this morning and secured an Affidavit of Discrepancy, I am mailing it tomorrow together with my birth certificate, photocopied passport and PRC License to support the affidavit. This is to anticipate if we get an RFE..grrrr.

Big thanks Gay/dbears. Regards and kisses to the kids. Good luck on your medical, can't wait for you to share and I'll be seeing myself in your shoes.

Hi Marie, my daughter's birth certificate also shows my incomplete name. It's even worse than your case. My name is Maria Teresa Roxanne but my daughter's birth certificate only showed Roxanne. Guess what?! Our papers were still approved at CSC. And now am scheduled for interview at the embassy on wed apr23. I thank God that the person handling our case was very understanding. Don't worry too much. May the Lord guide you and lead you in all the things that you will need to accomplish for this journey. God bless!

What a relief! Thank you so much. Wow, tomorrow is your interview, you have reached the journey this far, for sure you'll be able to make it on your interview. Michael and I wishes you all the luck! star_smile.gif star_smile.gif star_smile.gif

Good day to all!

I regret that I just noticed today that on my 2nd daughter's birth certificate, my name as her mother was written as MA.Evelyna instead of a complete MARIA. We have submitted the I-129F and just got the NOA1. This makes me worry that the reviewer might notice it causing for us to get an RFE or if not during the interview necessitating to show the b. cert. as proofs.

Can please anyone share any idea on what to do about this? I would like to settle things as early as possible not to cause further delays.

Thank you so much.

There's nothing you can do right now but pray that they won't give a big deal out of it and send you RFE. If ever they will send you one (God-forbid), I think you can use a notarized affidavit of discrepancy to show as proof that the names MA. and MARIA are one person (you).

Good luck!

--Mae

Thanks David-Mae! I just hope they don't. I think I would be getting an affidavit of discrepancy ahead of time and send it to my fiance to anticipate. We submitted 2 birth certificates, one for my eldest with my name written correctly and they might notice the difference of my name. So worried really. Again, thank you.

Best regards!

Isn't Ma. short from Maria?
I wish you luck good.gif

Hi bora! Yes, Ma. is short for Maria, but we have to be particular with what is written on the birth certificate to avoid doubts on misrepresentation and should appear as it is on all pertaining documents.

Thanks bora, wishing you also the best in life.
