My congressman said that the embassy is not excepting any new cases for the months of March,April and May they are concentracting on the old cases at the embassy they are trying to finish the backlog of cases they have. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Interviews in San'a, Yemen	It wasnt that the AOS was old it was that the sponsor had sponsored too many ppl already we had to get a whole new sponsor but about ur question all u have to renew is the application such as the I-864 if thats the one u filled out and u have to give the most recent taxes for the year and thats every year get it? I filled out my AOS in December and I sent in my taxes for years 2010,2011,and 2012. So when my wife gets her interview i will have to fill out a hole new AOS including my 2013 taxes? The only good thing about the embassy this month is that they have been replying to emails but they tell you the same thing. I made a congessional inquiry and my congresswomans office forwarded me the email she got from the embassy saying they don't have a timeframe for when my wife will get her first interview appointment. Because I remember when I was new at this site I wanted to read the reviews for Sanaa embassy but didnt see any but there was plenty for the other countries. Are they processing people from Yemen like everyone else? Because remember when they weren't processing cases from Yemen then after a year or more they gave us all RFE.     Have you read the NVC shortcuts? There's a lot of information on here that you should read. You get case complete when you send in the AOS, police certificate, passport photos etc. When NVC is done with your case you are then put in que for an interview in Sana'a which is averaging at about 5-7 months after case complete. You can be out of NVC in a a month if you know what you're doing and have everything ready. My advice is to read the shortcuts so you don't make rookie mistakes like I did. Good luck. I literally have the entire week off starting with May 29th, but could not attend the interview in Rio with my partner (who lives in Rio) until 5/29...or after.   We have requested an interview change date of May 30 or 31st.    My question is this: how common is it for people to request interview changes? Is it considered a grave offense to ask for a new date?    My partner could of course attend, but the whole goal was for me to fly there to be with her for the interview....    I can't believe they gave us just three weeks notice. Consulate only accepts email, so we've written them back and are now waiting...    Just hoping that they don't sock us with a date a month later or something...happy that it's happening so soon, but gosh, the timing! US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	9 months into the processing, fiancée had interview today...	Congrats!  Thanks for posting your report on the china consulate page as well. 9 months seems about average.  Applied in January 2012 and had interview in July and had passport back middle of August here.   Here is what fiancee explained to me... 1. Arrived at Embassy 8:45 AM for 9:20 AM interview 2. Around 9:00 AM, they checked passport and interview appointment page for 9:20 appointment people and let them inside the gate (but not inside the building) 3. They put a bar code sticker on the passport  4. About 1/2 hour wait 5. Enter the building through the security check 6. Enter the interview building. They checked passport & interview appointment paper again 7. Took elevator to the 3rd floor 8. At first window, registered for interview (they asked for packet 4 email) 9. Was given a number and waited 10. A person from different window called her number and asked for following documents: - her birth, marriage, and police certificates - her medical exam sealed envelope - her passport - my I-134 form - my 2013 Tax & W2 11. They gave her a number again and waited 12. Another window called her number for interview 13. A Chinese man interviewed her 14. He mostly asked questions in Chinese, but he squeezed in few questions in English. - Why did you go to Russia? - What did you do in Russia? - Why did you travel to US twice? - Did you meet your fiancee during your US trip?  - Where did you meet your fiancee? - When did you meet your fiancee? - Did you meet your fiancee after coming back from US trip? - Did he come to visit you in China? - Did he meet your family?  - Did he meet your friends? - What kind of work does your fiancee do? - What kind of work did you do? - Ok, you are approved  - You will receive your passport, visa, and the sealed envelope in about 2 weeks 15. The interview was not in private room. It was done at one of the long lines of windows.  And each window was interviewing other visa candidates.  16. Entire interview took about 5 minutes. He was looking at something on the screen and never looked at any documents. He never asked for any evidence, and he just moved through one question after another really quickly without continuously  probing deeply into any one question.  17. Without a watch or a cellphone, she lost track of time, but she spent a total of about 2 hours at the embassy, which were mostly waiting time.  18. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	credit card question for ROC	1. You need to show co-mingling of assets, so showing the credit card statement just in your name isn't useful. 2. Include pictures of the joint cards and statements.  With American Express cards, it shows which account the charge was made under which is a big plus as well. 3. If you're sending joint bank account statements then there's no need to include the card copies themselves.  As I said, co-mingling of assets is key.  The more, the merrier.  Insurance statements (medical, dental, vision, life) that show you as the dependant/beneficiary and him as the policy holder is key. Also, trip plans/statements can't hurt either.  Hope this helps. The ROC guide on VJ lists all of what I mentioned and then some that I'm sure I've forgotten.   Hi VJs,I have a question.   I have joint credit card where my husband is authorised user,i am gonna include copies of both cards with letter stating he is authorised user.is not used(although it is not used much)   I have credit card which was opened by the help of husband's credit card and joint bank account,but its not joint credit card as that bank does not give joint credit cards. We have separate debit cards with joint bank account which both of us use a lot.    My question is- 1.should i include copy of statement of my credit card(because statement shows home bills paid by me using that credit card)? 2.If i include statement of my credit card ,do i need to include statement of his credit card as well(i dont see any harm but confused about the purpose its gonna serve,means just to avoid extra useless papers to be sent) 2,should i include copies of both debit cards.(i am conused about the purpose of copy of debit card in ROC because in bank statement debit card number does not show,it just states debit card used,nobody can find out which one)   I am gonna include bank statements every month for entire period.   Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
