Sorry,

I am new to this and seemed to have posted this in the wrong place. It is customary to send invatations 6 weeks prior to the wedding. However from what i have seen time is different for the US and Jamaica. Jamaican time is more lax not definate.

If your husband is anything like Corey arguing is not going to get you anywhere. Men on average hate conflict. I know I am surrounded by them at work on a daily bases.

Hello All,

The answer to how not to miss your man so much is to work your but off. You are going to need the money anyways. Money for USCIS, Visa, travel and don't forget the wedding. But even with all of this you still miss them something terible. I miss mine everyday and count down the weeks until i see him again. When we started this journey we thought it would only be a couple months. Not so on seven months and counting.

I'm sorry Nicky. This is as plain English as it can get:

"Damn. I can't believe this woman is feeling me so quickly (can also be giving him sex so quickly). I know that my game sounds good to her. I have plans for you sweet little Mya. I'm not done with you yet my girl. I have to plant my seed in you Mya baby. God help me, I have to get her pregnant."

Well AT LEAST we are not the only ones then and you're going through the same thing too. But ENOUGH of enough, how long does it take to actually look at some papers?! I would love to be a fly on NVC's wall and see just exactly what they do there! mad.gif

I haven't called since last week, maybe I should ring them up and see if something has changed? What if it has and the automated service hasn't? What do you think?

I'm sorry that you are going through the same thing. sad.gif

NVC said they do not show my fiance scheduled for the appointment. What do I do? Do i keep the appointment or should I cancel. Does the embassy schedule the appointment for the interview or do we. Also Delvan recieved his packet three but it was just a letter telling him to put his name on everything he sends them. I had him go to the embassy and turn in his DS230 form. What do we do now? Any ideas please help.

Hey Nicky;

Welcome to VJ. You have joined a very resourceful group and will get good advice and guidance. Make you you read the guides, and follow them as the information posted there is from people who have gone on this journey.

To answer your question. If you file for a K-1, as I see from your timeline, your SO will be sent two packages that will give hime precise instructions as to what to do and when to do it. Appointment for your type of visa petition is scheduled by the embassy after you case file is complete.

The only time a NIV appointment is made by the applicant is when they applying without someone petitioning for them.

I hope that is clear. Other members on VJ can clarify this for you. I have not actully gone through the process, but have read the guides and posts extensively and have sort of an idea what happens.

Good luck.

Claire

The clarification I would offer is that although the K1 is a non immigrant visa, it is adjudicated by the immigrant visa unit. It is customary for the applicant to be notified of their interview appointment by the Consulate by mail. Perhaps somebody familiar with Kingston specifically can confirm the appointment method for K visas in Kingston.

I am in the same boat I called NVC and was told as long as there is no inactivity on your part your fine. The date you have to worry about is the Visa Expiration date when it is granted. I am waiting for the embassy to set up an appointment for Delvan. What did you get in your package 3 Delvan only got a letter saying they were working on his case.

Hello Everyone,

I am a newbie to VJ. I have a question regaring the Embassy interview process and the approval notice date on the I-797 form.

I filed the K-1 Fiance visa for my fiance and received I-797 Notice of Action on June 12, 2007. I received the a letter from the NVC letting me know that the petition was forwarded to the visa issuing-post in Kingston JA on June 18, 2007 and was advice that my fiance would be receiving a packet with instruction from the consular section. Everything was going very good until the petition was received at (Embassy) in Kingston JA.

I called NVC and they inform me that the petiton was sent to the Embassy on July 17, 2007 and the pkg3 was sent to my fiance and Aug 3, 2007. I made this called Aug 10, 2007. We waited the entire month of Aug no pkg3. I sent the Embassy and email informing them of the issue and they mailed my fiance another pkg3 which he rec'd on Sept 11. 2007. Now the approval notice is valid from 6/12/2007 to 10/12/2007 which is just around the corner. We are in the process of completing the documents, however i am starting to worrying about the expiration date of the approval notice.. If my fiance does have his interview prior to the approval notice expiring will we have to re- file the petiton (I-129F) again.... Any advice I would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Everyone!
My husband and I have been on the same road as you. We started our fiancé visa process in May 2009, he arrived in the US for Christmas 2009 and we married 2 months later. We've been married for 2 wonderful years and are in the process of removing the conditions on his status. It's been a very smooth and expedient process. We'd love to help any of you if we can, as well as to hear your stories. Blessings on your roads to happiness with your future spouses. :)

Greetings,
I live in Haiti and my wife is a US citizen that lives in USA. We use a phone called " myhaitimobile" there website is : myhaitimobile.com You activate your account for 20 US dollars and you pay 40 dollars as a monthly fee. You get unlimited calls to USA and Canada. The person in the US pay the 60 dollars for the activation package and the person in Haiti will go to a Haitel office to get the phone. After the phone is activated, the person in Haiti will be able to call USA and Canada unlimited. That is what my wife and I use, she just pay 40 dollars every months. This is awesome and cost less because before we used to spend over 350 dollars US each month to talk by phone. I encourage you to use the service guys. Thank you

Hi everybody. Even though I am a new member posting today, I have been reading here on this forum for a long period of time. I was kind of happy to share with you guys about my [b] I-129F approval just two days ago. I have never seen anybody that experienced the samething that I have encountered. I have known my fiancee for couple of years now and my first I-129F to USCIS was on Auguest 11, 2009. The USCIS approved the petition on January 6, 2010. my love had an interview @ consulate office on march 18, 2010 and got denied with the findings that we didn't provide enough proof of relationship (such as album full of pictures and phone records). Even though it was heart breaking to get denied, I convinced myself that they had a reason to deny since we only provided six pictures of us together and phone records that didn't show her number on my T-mobile call logs. Because I was using phone cards, then, that had 1800 # and a PIN #, Unfortunately,it only showed 1800# on my records. Anyways...petition was forwarded back to USCIS, who then notified me about denial and gave me an opportunity to refile. On June 11, 2010, I refiled I-129F (with fees)and received Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID) letter from USCIS on October 21,2010 to respond to a consular's findings (lack of enough pictures and no records phone interaction etc). I responded to this NOID with all supporting documents and promised USCIS i will visit my love to get more pictures of us before her next interview. On December 16, 2010, they send me a second approval letter and forwarded the case to the Embassy. It was then that I made a traveling arrangement to visit my fiancee to give her confidence and to be physically with her during her consular interview and of course take many pictures together that shows that we are in relationship. So, On March 28, 2011, I left San Diego and arrived in Addis ababa, Ethiopia on March 30, 2011. On April 5, 2011, my fiancee and I showed up (with all our supporting documents including album full of our pictures together, phone records, money transfer, and E-mail exchanges) early morning at U.S Embassy in Addis Ababa with full hopes that this journey will be finally behind us. At about 3 P.M, my fiancee was called to appear @ window #11. And at the end of her interview, which lasted about four minutes, she was told that her K-1 visa was again denied. This was just without looking at any of supporting documents that she substantiated. I asked the consular to tell me the reason for denial, all he would tell me was that he was not convinced. I requested to talk to his supervisor and she told me that she cannot reverse his decision but offered an advice to reappeal. We left the embassy's office really devastated emotionally. The same thing again....case returned back to USCIS and they (USCIS) sent me a letter of denial. On June 21, 2011, I refiled I-129F for the third time, and there you go, I got approved two days ago. So, for those ppl whose k-1 visa was denied at the consular level, you still have hope to re-apply at least for three times and still gets approved. This is as long as you have a sounding bonafide relationship with your fiance/e.

United KingdomReactions to you accent!
I have had so many people comment on where I'm from and also to ask me to "say that again please???" I think I must be loosing the accent now though cos I haven't had anyone ask where I'm from for a while.

I've been asked if I am from Spain, France, Newzeland, AUSTRALIA!!!!!! (grrrrrr (I'm big into my rugby so that angers me greatly)), Belgium and even Greenland ( I don't even know what language they speak there) but never has anyone actually said "Are you from England?". People always say "You aint from round here are ya?". Which is kinda funny as it's always said in that Dukes of Hazard kinda slang. I'm living in Florida and work as a surveyor so travel to a lot of parts of the central Florida area and meet a lot of new people on the job sites we go to so it's not uncommon to be asked if I'm from.................... on a daily basis?

You are right though it is a great conversation starter until they ask if your from Australia. I was born in Middlesbrough and grew up in the outskirts of Bristol (Yate) but was very very fortunate not to pick up the West Country accent. I don't roll my rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr's lol and I don't call it a great Ideal if I mean a great Idea so I count myself lucky in that sense. My work collegues have been really patient with me using different words for different things like Data (said Dahtah) and Data as we use a data collector for work. Hood and Bonnet, Boot and trunk, Windscreen and windshield, quater past and 15 after or any other one of the quaters in the clock. It has been an interesting time but I have enjoyed people noticing that I am quite rightly Not from round here. I have met a few people from Britain on my visits to the Citgo on a morning and even met a guy from West Yorkshire who had been here for 8 years and sounded like he was still back home with that really really broad accent. It was nice to hear it though.
