EVIDENCES OF BONA FIDE RELATIONSHIP FOR CR1 VISA -- ACTUAL PHOTOS OR JUST PHOTOCOPIES???

Hello, VJrs! My husband and I are starting to gather the documents that we need for our I-130 package, and we're confused about some things. When they say you need to include photos to show a bona fide relationship, do they mean just photocopies of photos in black & white, or scanned copies of photos and printed out in regular white paper, or actual photos on photo paper? If they meant actual photos, how do we present that in the package -- do we staple them in regular white paper or do we have to do anything special? Please help!

i sent them original photos, paste it on white bond paper..6 photos would be okay..hope this will hep!

Can you apply for a Spouse Visa while inside the Philippines?

Hello,

My Filipino husband and I live in the Philippines. I'm American. We are considering moving our lives to the US someday in the near future. Can I petition for him to come to the States while IN the Philippines? Would I do this in Manila?

What is the average wait these days?

Also, what would be the correct visa to get? The IR-1/CR-1 visa or the K-3?

sure you can..do the DCF filing in Manila. if you have been married for over 2 years why not file IR-1 for your husband.

your parents home address would be fine. My husband filed the petition for me and he was staying in the Philippines for 5 years with me. We used his daughter address here in the US as" to where we live "..and everything went fine. During my interview in Manila embassy,they didn't even bother to look for my papers about domicile issue. You will be fine since you are in active service. Hope this will help.

Just wondering, after a bit more research - at what point do I need to physically return to the country? When I am asked to submit my DS3032, for example, would I need to put my address in Florida, or should I put my parent's address back in the UK? Would it raise suspicion if I put my temporary address in Florida?

I wonder - adarklingpain - do you know that you could get married at your earliest convenience and begin the process? You can be married anywhere that is happy to accept same-sex (shame the UK hasn't got it's act together yet, because you could marry here if that had gone through already). If you were married quite soon and got on filing, you may not even need that Q1 visa.

Well, I'm going over in august for 7 weeks, and spent about 5 hours last night trying to organise him and me going to New York and getting married in that time, but it seems like a bit of a logistical nightmare this last minute. Plus we have a few family and friends who are banking on the wedding being next year and want to attend, so I think it's probably a lot easier to stick with the plan and, if needs be, I'll just finish my programme early if my I130 is approved and I get scheduled an interview in London while I'm still out in Florida on my Q1.

My only other concern is that as a prerequisite for my Q1 visa I have to live in Disney housing, and so will not be able to live with my partner. Would this be too much of a problem when it comes to the interview/proving we have a bonafide marriage? We're going to open a joint bank account and do that kind of thing, I'm just worried they'll suspect fraud if I wasn't living with him for the year I spent in the same city as him!

Hey,

Congrats (for many reasons!)!

So, it doesn't matter where you live to file the I-130 (nor that you would already be on the Q1). You can file that as soon as you're married, whether you're back in the UK at the time or not.

Your CR-1 application itself will be done in London, so you'll need to be there for the medical and the interview, so you might want to be moved back by the time your petition is approved or have means to check the status of that part (like, have your mail sent to someone who'll keep on top of it for you). The visa application on the UK side takes about 3 - 5 months, if that helps you plan.

If you want to cut down on time apart, aim to file the I-130 a good few months before you're intending to come home.

Really?! That's fantastic. I was envisaging having to say goodbye for 8 months after having lived in the same city as him for a year, which would have been horrible. So would I just complete the process the exact same way, indicate on the I130 that I arrived on a Q1 visa and want to go through the London Consulate, and they sort out the rest?

Hi there - I'm one of the many same-sex binational couples still pinching themselves in disbelief after DOMA was repealed on Wednesday meaning we can now file for green cards! It's been a bit of a whirlwind but I have spent 95% of my time since then frantically researching into the whole process.

Because we've spent the vast majority of our relationship not having the possibility of filing for a green card together, we've looked into other ways to be together, and as it stands I currently have a place to work on a Q1 cultural exchange visa in Disney World for a year in February 2014 (USC boyfriend lives in Orlando). We were hoping to get married some time next September/October, and the plan (as it stands now) is to finish my programme in February 2015 and immediately file the I-130 and begin the process for applying for a CR-1 visa. However, I was wondering if I will be able to file for the CR-1 visa whilst still legally working out there - in October/December, say - so as to get a few months of waiting over and done with while I am still able to be with him. I am not intending to adjust status whilst out there - I don't want to risk ruining this chance now that we have it! - but simply file the I-130 a few months before I leave so I don't have to fly home in February 2015 and begin the process then.

Apologies if the answer is glaringly obvious, I have tried to search for it before posting but most of the results seemed to be of people intending to adjust status (there's also little on the Q1 visa anywhere on the internet, it seems like Disney are one of the only companies that sponsor people for it).

Getting Married - Dont know where to start

The second option is what i have chosen and told my SO we should do and he is happy for us to do either way as he will be out the country for 9 months anyways. I guess all we need to make sure of is that the stuff he needs to fill out and sign is DONE and completed correctly before he deploys so that there is no delay. My worse nightmare is for him to be in Kuwait and there is something he did wrong and it cannot be corrected until he gets back.

So what paper work would we need to do?

The second option is the best option. The first would be fraudulent and you should not consider it. But as a side note, when you go over and get married you would not need to wait to come home first to file everything; you could file the day after you married and so some of the time waiting will at least be while you are over there on your tourist visa.

I know there are a lot of examples of package but I would like to make sure I'm not missing anything and another pair of eyes can't hurt... and I've noticed there are some people on this forum that really know what they are talking about.

We got married in October 2013 in Colombia and we live together. We have known each other for 9 month, she is 29 and I am 32. (if that matters)

I will put the whole package on ACCO Fastener with tabs at the bottom.

Me and my Wife are about to file form I-864 and are confused about the filing of the I-864A. My wife doesn't make enough money to sponsor me all by herself recording to the last W-2 form. So i asked my friend to do it and he agreed. My question is now, do both of them have to file I-864 or only my friend, or does the I-864A work without us having the same principal residence?

Just got the letter from NVC it states:

NVC returned the petition to the Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Please direct any further inquiries to USCIS.

It doesn't give any reason why it was sent. Is this normal or should I be freaking out more than I already am?

That is a little more disheartening. The reason we filed the i=130 is because my wife had to leave the country to go handle some family matters and her travel documents weren't renewed yet. (The first one had expired after one year.) Therefore our i-485 was considered abandoned. We have waited a long time with USCIS and I had to go to Russia to celebrate our two year anniversary last month. Crazy! I really do hope that it is just some simple clerical issue.

I just found out that USCIS requested our file back from NVC on Friday. They are unable to give me a reason why, because the file hasn't made it back yet. Has this happened to anyone else before and should I be worried? Any advice or comments would be appreciated.

Things went well....i have a daughter and a son (7 and 11). They adjusted quite well and I think they love Charles just like a father figure...it was important that I let them know that Charles loves me and loves them and wants the best for us......I make sure that they do not feel like I am loving them less now that I am married and in a healthy relationship. I also have let Charles have his quality time w/ them and sometimes I will go out and let them bond together.
I have also let my kids know that now I am not only a mother but I am also a wife and there will be times where I will have private times w/ my husband.....thankfully they understood me
