I recommend to call santo dominigo... even tho they are horrible with us, they wont give any information over the phone. I second opition is to call Department of State and see they could help you out with the situation 202-533-2699 Opition 1 then 0. I wish you the best!

At first I was using our case # and it said visa refused. Then I used our application # from the DS-160 form and it said that his visa was issued. This was all today, now I just checked our application # again from the DS-160 form and it saying NO STATUS. sigh...

Ok, here is another update....I just used the DS-160 form and put in the confirmation # for our application. The results said his visa was Issued Dec. 30, 2013. Now I am even more confuse. We will leave early in the morning to go back to the embassy where we had our interview to try to get answers.sleepy.gif

I just called the visa immagration center and was told that our case was open and no information was in the system as of why his passport has not been issued. They are sending an e-mail to find out what is the hold up. Sigh....This can not be happening right now..

Ok my VJ Fam, please help us. Our interview was approved on December 23, 2013. I have been waiting here in Santo Domingo for his passport. I checked the CEAC.state.gov website today and it says that his visa was denied! It says to review the instructions given to us at the interview for our denial. We weren't denied! We were asked lots of questions which I will post later but our interview was approved. The only paper we received from our interview was our ticket to pay for shipping his passport to the house. We received our ticket to pay the domex and our tracking #. The domex website says "DOCUMENTO EN TRAMITES DEL CONSULADO."  

 

What is going on? Please point us in the right direction.

Also France/Florida here. Two months for NOA1 is a bit extreme. As someone else suggested, call USCIS to verify email/mailing address. Check junk mail folders. Did you sign up for text message/email alerts?  If not, after you get your case number, you can sign up for email/text alerts.

While I agree with your comments about torturing yourself by comparing the two service centers....I don't think the OP was whining about waiting three weeks. 

 

I noticed that you waited 76 days for your NOA2 - many TSC filers (myself included!) would be happy to receive a NOA2 in that time frame. :)

 

Umm.. does the following not sound like a whine?

 

"It's been 3 weeks since we've applied, but I already know I'll wait for at least 5 months. This is so unfair... It's gotten to the point that seeing CSC approvals make me depressed and sad. Why is the USA doing this to us?"

 

 

I was lucky to get it in 76 days. Sure. But I was ready to wait 5 months. And I certainly didn't whine about not receiving it after 3 weeks. You, Lorella, are in a better position to be frustrated having waited since December (though I'm not sure what politics are involved in a petition for Cuba), but 3 weeks? Really?

 

She will probably get hers before 5 months, as is the experience for many at TSC. But to complain at three weeks that others are getting it quicker is ridiculous.

 

It is like being jealous that someone else got a bigger piece of cake from another restaurant....

Stop whining about waiting 3 weeks. Many of us had to wait months. When you applied, you were told that it could take 5 months. Expect the worst. 

 

Plus, the speed that two distinct offices, hundreds and hundreds of miles apart, has nothing to do with "equality." What a ridiculous thing to say. Some move more quickly, some more slowly. People within the offices work at different paces. 

 

I know it sucks to see that California moves quicker, but you'll torture yourself more by trying to make comparisons.

I went through TSC with no RFE, sounds like your lawyer is at fault. Make sure your written statement saying you will marry within 90 days of K1 entry has the original signature on it, not a photocopy. Your fiancé needs to snail mail the letter to you, not fax or email.

Yeah we thought with him being a duel citizen he could go through Dublin , I bet that is the issue we put Dublin down and so that is why I got the Dublin number on my end and he got sent the paper work threw London. He emailed London Embassy after calling them and they gave him a ref number to use in the email. I will defo call NVC , wonder what our chances would be in trying to request the Dublin Embassy ? We are thinking that Dublin got it and refused it and sent it to London. Wish we had known that , would have saved us the trouble and confusion. Ah well live and learn .



I believe beneficiary can use consulate in the country of residence so thats possibly what happened.
He won't need to get british passport to be able to interview in London.

It doesn'tt matter what passport beneficiary holds whatsoever, it matters where they reside . I have polish passport, but as i live in UK I go through London Embassy. It does look like you have chosen Dublin consulate to go through originally (right?) and per your case number ref. it seems that NVC meant to send it to Dublin indeed. I'd call NVC and find out what's happening.

I will copy and paste in the exact wording when I'm back at my computer. But with our application I sent in aeroplane tickets to prove I went out to visit him and when he came here. A letter from my father that mike did come over and stayed with me for 4 months. I sent in screenshots of our facebooks to show messages, pictures of us both. And receipts of hotel rooms we stayed in. Day trips we both went on and receipts of this I bought him for his birthday and other celebrations.

Ill put the wording up as soon as I can. Thank you all for your comments so far. I really appreciate it!

 

Definatelly would be good to hear what the letter says as boarding passes, hotel room booking and pictures should be ok for uk applicant i think.

 

But if it will ineed be RFE for proof of meeting in last 2 years then photocopy of your fiance's passport showing entry stamps to UK, statements showing cash withdrawals for him in UK or yours in US will definatelly be on the list.

Also does this now mean that we will be out to the back of the list again?!? We got out NAO1 for CSC in September, and now to get this is a real kick in the teeth :(

you wont go to the back of the list, as soon as they get your response they should look into it straight away, from what I've seen on here approvals come quite fast, upon sending satisfactory evidence.

What did you send with your original petition?

Btw you only need to prove you that met in peson in the last 2 years not that you are a couple.

WE HAVE FINALLY BEEN APPROVED AFTER OVER 6 MONTHS OF WAITING! The best feeling ever!

 

One month ago I contacted my congressman and their office has been wonderful, they have called once a week for the past month. When we hit the 6 month mark and the congressman office called USCIS said from all of her previous calls into our case they were going to expedite it.

 

Definitely contact your congressman! The senators took over a month to get back to me, which wasn't helpful at all. 

 

Anyway, FINALLY a SIGH of RELIEF! 

 

Congrats, now get your police certificate sorted and see your GP for medical/vaccination records and see what shots/boosters you may need if you haven't already done so!

Hello all, 
I asked this question a few months back, but I didn't want to revive an old thread, and I am just looking for more specific advice.
 
So, I received my NOA 2 (electronic copy-although still no text and email :/ ) on September 6th, and I am the beneficiary, and I am still in the US on a student visa, which expires in December. With this all considered:
 
When should I be going home to continue this process?
 
Is there a time limit on how quickly I need to send in packet 3?
 
Am I considered out of status, currently?
 
We are provisionally setting a wedding date of May 24th. Is this too late? Or is this feasible?
 
I have one online class, an internship, and one class where I am able to participate online (I have talked to the professor already.) I have a return flight home in November 14th, but this can be changed for £70 so it is no real issue, but is this date of return pushing it?
 
I know this is a lot of questions, but any responses are greatly appreciated.

PS. And I know we could have just got married now and adjust my status, but we don't want to do that, and we are not doing that, for a number of reasons, so there is no need to bring this up in your responses, I am perfectly aware of what I could have done, but this is what we are doing. Hi,

What will happen now is your petition will be forwarded to NVC for final processing before being send to London.
This can take few weeks them again it takes couple of weeks to receive letter from embassy inctructing you to get your police certificate, book your medical and pay for your interview. So you probably won't hear from the embassy until early to mid October anyway. Did your petition included your UK address for embassy to send letter to?
Your Noa2 will have expiration date but london embassy would extend that automaticaly if needed.
Your visa is valid for 6 months from the date medical was completed and then you have 90 days to get married, so if you will have your medical end of November then tavel by May you'd still be good to marry end of May.
What I can suggest is to try and get your police certificate ordered so you are ready to book medical when arrive in London.

I went through London which is quite easy. I had my then fiancés letter from employer, couple w2's and tax return copy. They were satisfied with a letter only, didn't even look at tax return or w2s. Maybe it's worth reading reviews for your consulate and compare what others have been asked for. I am positive the bank letters are used usually by self-employed or someone who's not in a standard employment.

Are you self employed? If not then you probably better of asking your employer for a letter confirming your employement supported by most recent pay stubs /w2's. Not sure how much info Mexico needs but I think in most cases tax return transcripts and employment confirmation is sufficient.

You have to keep checking with NVC or DOS, from what i remembered my status on ceac stayed as ready until after the interview. The only thing that changed was last updated date.
And of course you will get a letter from embassy after they receive it :-)

same message for me....just checked my 129F status, same msg.....but I don't have an Alien Registration Number (I'm a USC), my husband doesn't have one for the US because he's not here.   So what ARN did they change on my 129F petition (for K3 visa) or did they actually assign him one for the US?

Ive been taking it day by day and preparing for my fiancé to come to the states.  This is the most focused I have been as the reality of being the sole provider for "two", at least for a little while, shall soon become reality.  I have began couponing and stockpiled on many items we will need. In a addition I have put myself on a strict budget to pay down some of the bills ,put credit on other bills like rent and electric as well as saving for his AOS petition.  Also, I have been researching for wedding venues and wedding dresses (which has been really fun).  There is so much to do to make the time go by and lots to do to ensure the first few months wont be as rough as they could be. In the end it will all be worth it.
