Was Alan able to call up to see if an interview was scheduled? I was to call Friday but I am now thinking of calling tomorrow. Alan emailed them because he was busy at work. Canada	MTL Timeline to Interview	Nope, my eyes are not believing what they are seeing. I emailed Montreal a few days ago, and just received this reply today: Good news. Your appointment is booked for 1Aug07 @ 8:30am. Letter mailed to applicant HOLY CRAPOLA! It's FINALLY HAPPENED! I'm still kinda shaking all over, but all of a sudden, we've got to scramble. That's less than TWO WEEKS from today! Thank you EVERYONE for all of the support and encouragement that you've given us, and we sure HOPE that this is the start of a flood of appointments! LOVE YOU GUYS, and we'll be keeping you informed of our progress! Time to start packing, getting the Jeep ready for a two day drive, and woohooooooooo, Ottawa, then Montreal, HERE I COME! Canada	MTL Timeline to Interview	Update:::: Nothing for us to add time wise since we are still where we were last time our position was updated. On a side note I went to my family doctors at the request of the Consulate doctor to clarify certain matters, which was done rather quickly. Now my family doctor has to type everything up and get it off to the Consulate doctor. We are hoping that this will be the end to the medical examination, which started on June 7th and I will have the documentation in my hands by at the latest mid August. That's great!!! you should have that issue all cleared up before your interview Right now we're not expecting anything from Montreal until September so for sure the medical issues should be resolved by then. I will call the doc in two weeks to see if she has everything and find out when I can expect to get the docs. Lynette, I'm waiting to see you're on your way to Montreal, only 8 days left for you, all the best to ya. I'm thinking that this is the most stressful part of this voyage ... my house is ripped upside down (it's amazing what kinds of stuff accumulate in drawers and cupboards and closets over the course of 6 years ) .. everything I've been sorting through makes me travel down a memory lane .. some lanes I wish not to visit ... trying to decide what to keep ... oh dear!! I've been so busy packing away my life I haven't really had time to worry about how the interview will go .. I'm as organized as I'm going to get .. just have to get myself there in one piece (travelling the 401 E don't ya know!!). I'll be leaving for my interview on the 17th with my son in 5 more days and I will give the update when I'm back the night of the 18th ... the support and information from you all has been amazing ... thank you We'll be looking forward to reading your review Lynette. Canada	MTL Timeline to Interview	Sunday June 24th is St. Jean Baptiste Day (Quebec only) the Consulate will be closed on Monday to compensate for the holiday being on a weekend and that may be why the message said call on Tuesday. Udella&Wiz you beat me to it. It looks like they've been passed over even though their congressman contacted Montreal on their behalf I do believe (correct me if I'm wrong ) I had called them on Tuesday and they said no interview booked yet ... I'm really hoping for good news next week. Canada	MTL Timeline to Interview	Called MTL on Wednesday, we got our visa interview! They got my package Jan 18th and my interview was scheduled on May 22nd (the day before I called, ironically enough), our date is July 5th. I got the package in the mail today. I'm glad I have a few weeks before I need to start panicking. We should set up a support group for those of us who have interviews the same day so we can defuse together after we survive the interviews! I've been off VJ for a while, because I was just waiting ... and waiting ... and-- well, everyone hear knows that state intimately. Is the timeline list now a document instead of a post? I called Montreal today and surprisingly I had a very nice lady answer the phone .. she told me that the interview had not yet been scheduled but should be done very soon and that I was more than welcome to call once a week to check. She said that they don't get cancellations very often ..people just don't show up. I'm hoping you'll hear something for June too You're very similar to the timeline interviews being issued for June Yes there seems to have been some communication skill seminars given at Montreal the past couple of weeks The last few responses I've gotten from them have been very decent and polite. I had stated in my inquiry I saw where people with similar timelines to me were getting interview dates and I was wondering whether I would been scheduled for an appointment soon also "Unfortunately your appointment still has't been booked. Canada	MTL Timeline to Interview	Montreal received our packet 3 on Dec 11th. Sharon received notice of receipt for that date. I'm HOPEful based upon what some of you have posted reguarding interview dates that maybe whomever emailed us was nuts or in a really bad mood, but if they were, then they are gonna have to deal with us. I've emailed Montreal back, asking for an actual explanation as to WHY they've added an additional 4 months to our originally anticipated interview date. There should be NO good reason for adding 4 more months based on the "First Come, First Served" process they use. I've also contacted both of my Senators and my congressman now, so I'm hoping that Montreal will be forced to explain what in the hell they actually DO there to someone. (btw, one of my Senators sits on the committee that oversees the Department of State, so I'm hoping a well-placed call or email from her will loosen up Montreal's tight ### cheeks a little.) I'm thinking that if everyone that has been told they will be waiting for 4 to 6 to 8 months more for an interview date did the same, maybe someone would begin to wonder what the folks in the Montreal Consulate are getting paid for. Just glad I have THIS place to vent a little, otherwise I'd be looking for a short-term position with the postal service. Hope the interview dates keep pouring in.......... Alan We sure hope you get that interview letter soon. We're frustrated with our waiting on Montreal and this whole torturous process. But it is no where near what you have and are going through with them I agree with your idea of Montreal having to answer just what they do in the run of a day.
