zyggy, i have always been facinated by the picture next to your nickname? is it young hitler or something? anyhow, folks are frustrated and calling them selfish is rhetoric deserving of national socialists in some respect. sure our loved ones are with us, but the dollars we spent on the I-751 to processed on time - aren't. believe it or not, these dollars are pretty scarce for some people and wasting them like this is... well if not comparable to not being with your spouse, then comparable to being without a meal. all i am trying to say - calling someone selfish for being frustrated isn't cool.

unbelievable.

The fact that people like you find it acceptable that petitions take so long to approve or deny is the reason why the government is allowed to get away with such poor service.

The reason Zggy thinks this way is because he is one of them.
He has worked in Border patrol.

Guess he is used to the Government doing their job s l o w ly.

Well, that will explain why he thinks USCIS is allowed to do this lousy job !!!!!!!!!
I'm wondering WTH is he doing here anyway ?
mad.gif

Because he has to go through the process just like the rest of us -- no special treatment for him! -- and if you would take a peek in the Canadian forum you would realize that along the way he has provided a lot of valuable information for us fellow Can/Am couples. Perhaps you may want to dial back on the hostility.

Again, I don't find it OK that after 1 year of waiting I'm still waiting for a miracle to happen while others are going through this process in a matter of few months ?
Do you think that's fair ??????
And yes ,I'm hostile to affirmations like "we are not so important to USCIS because we're already here " that BS!!!!
I paid the money like everyone else and their slogan is "first come first served” but that's another BS so ....you see my point and my frustration? I hope you do.
mad.gif

I would be the first to admit that it isn't fair, as I am part of a group from TSC that have been waiting the same amount of time like you all here dealing with Nebraska. Hey, the TSC Losers finally got transferred out of Texas to Vermont and the first thing we heard was "oh ####### that's not fair to us" from those waiting in Vermont -- which is completely understandable. There is unfairness all around, but is that really a new thing?

But taking your frustrations out on Zyggy, who made a pretty good point (although it sucks to hear it), isn't going to make things better, or make you feel better. Just a thought.

Please follow the instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case by registering in the link below.

Good luck everyone!

Ya might want to read around -- all of us who had been sitting at TSC since last year were transferred to VSC.

I have no idea how this should be reflected on either this list or the TSC Loser® List.

How about we track it like others have done.....for example:

westy77..........TSC.............03/10/07..........03/14/07........04/06/07........--/--/--

Would now read:

westy77..........TSC > VSC...03/10/07..........03/14/07........04/06/07........--/--/-- (transferred to VSC Jan 31, 2008)

Sorry if I'm outta the loop....rarely login.

Westy

I think this would be reasonable

Just going to gripe now. I notice that people who still have applications at NSC are STILL WAITING!
But those who filed with the NSC after and had the application transferred to CSC have been approved.

I know it's not the applicants fault, but it hardly seems fair. sad.gif

I know of a particular thread full of people dealing with another notorious service centre that would agree with you. It's hard to see people breeze through and get their cards in a couple of months, while there are others closing in on a year with no end in sight. Try not to dwell on it too much and let it get you down. smile.gif

I know. And it wouldn't usually bother me, but I'm planning a vacation and can't leave until I know something.

I hear you. I may have to go home at a moment's notice in the next couple of months and this being in limbo stuff is a pain.

Talking about luck in another post, we must be real lucky in that we have always received the biometrics in a separate envelop exactly the same time as the NOA, often wonder why they cannot put both in the same envelop and save a 43 cent stamp. Since both my wife and daughter have applied together, would find four envelops in the mail box. Once the biometrics were at the same time for both of them, the second, daughter was 4 hours later, but they were sweet and took them at the same time since we have to travel quite a distance to get there.

because one comes from the service centre (extension letter) and one comes from the district office or ASC (biometrics letter)

2 affidavits signed by friends
Our appartment lease showing both names and same address
One piece of mail showing both names and same address
Utility bill addressed to both of us.
Driver's licenses showing same address
Some pictures taken at our son's baptism

I thought you needed tax returns from both years since Green card.
More bill evidence then just one and several months worth
Bank statements that span the years
More pictures and general evidence: insurance, investments, more mail, etc.

In general, I thought you needed evidence of the entire 2 years since you received your GC?

You need to copy the GC as well.

For the entire length of the marriage actually.

To the OP: you've gotten a lot of great suggestions in this thread. You do need to beef up your evidence. Good luck!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionIs this enough documentation?
QUOTE (fskrc1 @ Jul 28 2008, 01:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
WOW! If it is possible to overdue documentation I think you came close. Don't take this hard as its not meant to be but, it probably didn't require that much.

I think the key on the I-751 is to remember this line from the VJ I-751 Instructions: "On the "don't panic" front -- ultimately the burden of proof is on the CIS to show a fraudulent marriage."

We only sent in stuff from the examples. If it fails I'll write in to take back my above comments crying.gif

I humbly disagree. There have been many examples of fellow VJ'ers who sent in the bare minimum and got RFE'd, particularly those who fail to show adequate evidence of co-mingling of assets and liabilities spanning the lifetime of the marriage. It is our burden to prove we have legitimate, ongoing marriages, not USCIS's job to prove that we don't.

maya -- I am not on our house deed either. I sent in a copy of the deed to establish our address, and then made sure to include various things in our names (as a couple and singly) that showed we both resided at that address. got through it ok. smile.gif

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion10 year green card necessary?
Well, 12-15 months is better than the no processing at all that I received from Texas, so I personally was glad to be transferred to anywhere but there!

Oh, and VSC has been giving the backlog of citizenship applications priority processing for the last few months, and anything that isn't that kind of application has been put on the back burner -- there should be movement at that centre soon.

To answer your question, yes you can apply for citizenship while the ROC is in process. Many people in this forum have done that in the past 6 months.

They want original IRS transcripts. They're free. Call 1-800-829-1040.

ALso they do not want state returns.. only federal...

Are you sure that you really need the IRS transcripts and not the actual PDF from H&R Block? I just called that phone number, and it could not handle my request. I was told to call later or the next business day. I always though that the PDF will be enough since it matches my supporting documents turned in with the I-134 at the US Embassy in Bogota.

According to what it says in I-864, and I quote, "You must provide either an IRS transcript or a photocopy from you own records of your Federal individual income tax return for the most recent tax year". With this said, I do believe that the PDF print-outs will be good enough for AOS and to complete the Affidavit of Support. Notice the key word "either" in the quoted statement above taken directly from the instructions found in the I-864 form.

I guess I just answer my own question. Thanks for nothing.

Was the attitude necessary? The IRS transcripts are the best solution -- it prevents people from sending in copies of their W-2s, etc, which are unnecessary -- they just want a copy of the return.

I just received my NOA on June 18th from Vermont. I was in total shock when I got the letter.

Sent to Vermont on June 3, Vermont received it on June 4th, cashed the check on June 9th, Action date is June 10th on my NOA, and we received it on the 18th.

I was not expecting this at all, but am so thankful that I have the one year extension letter for my son and I. The only thing is when you do a joint petition, the extenstion letter only has the parent name on it. So I am more than likely going to take my son to Atlanta and get his passport stamped.

Now I can go renew my driver's lisense.
