No new news from us either. It is just making us very nervous. I'm sorry to ask a stupid question but what does RFE stand for. I didn't know where to look it up, but was thinking it stood for denial. I hope that isn't in our future.

request for further evidence. Does not automatically mean a denial. smile.gif

That will make me even angrier!!!!! Further evidence??? Meaning that we send once more the package and only GOD will know where is going to end up and in what hands!!!! I am NOT looking forward for RFE!!!! That will be a mess!!!!

Imalin, seriously, you need to relax, you're gonna burst something. Let's not worry about getting an RFE, shall we? We'll cross that bridge when/if it ever comes smile.gif

I will try but... his is not easy.... I want to get rid of USCIS for a while.... but thanks anyways for the support!

I hear you and completely understand, it's a hard hard wait. smile.gif

I wouldn't be worrying about James (no offense James biggrin.gif ), I'd be rooting for the people at the top of the list....then I'd be convinced that TSC was actually working on petitions from April.

That is correct. smile.gif As far as I know they are still doing transfers to CSC.

Hey Cassie, how did you weather the storm/lack of power?

We hunkered down for the first couple of days with friends who had a gas cooktop on their stove and a gas fireplace. We then stayed for two nights with friends who got their power back pretty quickly. It was pretty bad -- I was so desperate to get warm (our house dipped down to 52 degrees at one point) that I went to work early (for some unknown reason, they never lost power, go figure) and cranked up the heat. blush.gif Thankfully our power came back last Thursday, because we were running out of clean clothes -- I had never been so grateful to do laundry in my life! Our internet wasn't restored until last night.

The sad thing is, there are still many households without power -- I don't know how they are doing it honestly. Thankfully, the temperatures have risen a bit.

Yeah, this is going to make an interesting mess for us, if we have to file naturalization papers before getting our 10 year GC. It'll be a race to see which one gets adjudicated first, and we'll be in a weird limbo. wacko.gif wacko.gif

yes, they'd probably start blaming each other then - like "can't process N400 because I751 not adjudicated yet"... and "will adjudicate I751 at N400 interview".... lol .... lot's of exciting times ahead of us ... wink.gif

Welcome, fellow Loser!!!

From what I recall having read here, you don't get another extension letter -- you have to make an Infopass appointment and get an I-551 stamp in your passport.

Hey! I didn't realize this was how to extend it - but we might have to do it if still waiting by the year mark!

My husband made an infopass appointment to try to talk to someone to make sure he hasn't missed his biometrics appointment, but we never got anything in the mail from them. Do you guys know if we need to bring anything special to the infopass appoint. except current residence card, extension letter, receipt, ..... anything else?

Thanks so much!

If and when I have to go to an INFOPASS appointment for this issue (extending the extension letter), I plan on taking my copy of my I-751 submission, any paperwork they have sent to me (biometrics receipt, biometrics appointment letter, extension letter, etc), my old card, my passport. Not sure if that is right or not, but that's what I plan to take.

This is my theory: TSC was assigned to work on processing US passports. I think TSC stopped processing applications around the same time there was a passport processing delay. That issue was resolved not by magic, but by assigning new resources to it. i751 is propably the most redundant form out there because i400 comes right after it.

That seems as rational an explanation as any. You have to wonder whey they just didn't make residency conditional for three years instead of two, with the option to either just remove conditions or naturalize after three years.

I guess more money for INS...

yes, probably a money issue - they milk anyone that's tangible....
Anyway, there is a good number of people who do not plan to naturalize. I for one will only naturalize if I can become a dual citizen, as this is rather a vague issue (as I have to apply for it with the German authorities with a good chance of getting denied), I might not even naturalize come next spring....

That is the only way I would become naturalized as well (and Jerry agrees with me on this).

Can someone refresh my memory and tell me (and the rest of us in this thread) when one needs to apply to renew the extension letter if it comes to that point for some of us?

My best guess is that they are stuck sometime in late January. In late June, they approved some VJers with NOA1 dates of 1/19 and 1/22, and then stopped dead in their tracks, shipping all new I-751s that arrived to CSC. It's appalling to think that they have supposedly only moved three weeks in those last four months (and they really haven't done even that, else a bunch of folks -- including you -- would have heard something by now).

Why don't you end this thread and keep conversations in the chat room otherwise what was a useful source of information has now dragged into 17 pages of waffle about how we are all waiting for our forms which we are reminded of everyday.

aye, but it makes me feel better that there is a distinct group of people that are stuck just like me and we have a space to commiserate with each other, in silly ways and with useful info / updates, but that's just me. smile.gif

Even with this delay, you will still be approved far quicker than any of us genuine TSC Losers® will be . . . .

I just thought of something -- even among us Losers, we have a pecking order! We have Losers and then we have REAL Losers! I mean SUPER Losers, lol. Everybody above us1415 on the list is a TSC Super Loser because they are outside the TSC's *cough*phony*cough* 6 month and 12 day processing time!

I will become a TSC Super Loser on November 1!!! I can't wait.

I love it. We aren't satisfied with being just losers, we need to start a hierarchy of Losers laughing.gif laughing.gif
