K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSeptember 2009 Filers! CSC

I think i sympathize with you kizza because once you finally get your NOA2 there is still another long wait for Montreal. Right now it looks like 2-4 months after they LOG packet 3 before an interview.

Boy i thought my expectations for a late February early March approval were half decent. The longer i wait for packet 3 the more i think it may be June. ugh

Annnnnd while i venting i might as well keep going! ha.

The thing that honks me off most right now is that my fiance gets a sabbatical from work every 7 years ( 8 weeks off on top of his regular vacation time). This being the year. So we planned on taking a trip to some National Parks and then either coming back home to Nova Scotia across Canada or returning to Oregon across Canada. Once i get there in JUNE LOL I am going to have to apply for AP right away before we can even plan our trip.. and God knows how long getting AP will take. *sigh*

it made me change mine tonight, too. I went out and came back a couple hours later. I went to check my email and had an email from USCIS... i about had a friggen' heart attack until i realized it was the confirmation for the password change.

Then it took me like 5 minutes to figure out how to get back in. Here i thought i had mad internet skills. hahah

Good luck getting your password error sorted out.

I realize there is probably a thousand applicants for the month of September and we're just a small percent of the total number.

but to me what's frustrating is that when VSC starting seeing NOA2's they just kept coming one after the other.. for us CSC people it's like oh we'll just give them one here and there to keep their hopes up.

This list is downright ridiculous. Approvals for VJ'ers on this list would be nice.

I feel exactly the same way. CSC is already adjudicating people who filed as recently as Jan/Feb 2008 and it's frustrating and ridiculous that some of us have been stuck without adjudication at TSC/VSC for more than a year and counting.

Maybe they will transfer all the TSC/VSC to CSC? Almost a month with no VSC approval is definately depressing, especially for all you that have been waiting over a year. I admit when I see people that submitted after me being approved it makes me mad, and I've only been waiting 5 months.

*sigh* It's a crappy situation all around, that we can all agree on.

The mere act of transferring added yet another month to our wait, based on the fact that we are only now seeing approvals from the TSC transfer list.

Methinks, based on how quickly (relatively speaking) TSC transferees are getting approved right now, I think things will get back to normal at VSC very soon and then people won't be so upset anymore.

We have yet to see a single TSC transfer approval. After about 2 weeks of having been in the VSC system, I am not sure they really are working on the cases. Would they not be able to get done with cases in a few minutes a piece? So why are they approving VSC filers form summer when there are year-old cases all around via TSC...unless they consider tSC transfers "newly arrived". In that case those can wait another 6 to 7 months...

You know we're not the only ones, right? We are just a very small piece of the pie. Technically, our petitions have only been in the VSC system a little over a week.

Records of phone conversations will be needed at the interview to prove "ongoing relationship:....they do not prove the stipulation (on the I-129F) of having personally met your fiance(e) within the 2 years prior to filing the application.

PhilippinesCan one marry on K1 before going to the US?
The K-1 visa is a fiance visa.

If you get legally married before you enter the US, your fiance visa will then be null and void. You will then have to start all over again and have to apply for a spousal visa.

I dont understand the motives of people of other nationalities getting upset with things filipinos talk about. I saw recently someone from another nationality asked for a topic in the philippine forum to be moved to off topic although it was relevent to filipinos. Why care if you arnt filipino or married to one. Why try to dictate a forum that has nothing to do with you. I tried to explain once about how divorce can be ugly in the US and man can loose everything because of the way the laws are only to have offended a person of another nationality whom I wasnt adressing nor did her situation apply to what I was reffering to. Off-Topic2.gif tongue.gif

1) I was trying to figure out why SHAPE needed to make a list of times, hence me asking the question. All she needed to tell me was "because I wanted to", and that would have sufficed for me. There was no need for insults. It was an honest, curious question -- I wasn't upset, or offended, or trying to dictate what one group should or shouldn't talk about. Quite the opposite actually, I was genuinely curious about why making this list was important.

2) I have been on VJ for 4 years, and have done a lot of reading and research on ALL the different visas and the process. I know quite a bit about it, there was no need to be rude to me in stating that since I did my K-1 so long ago, I have no idea what is going on now. Not true. I also make a point of reading other country's forums so that I can have an understanding of what other fellow VJ'ers go through, so I can have a global perspective. So if that is intruding or whatever, my apologies.

3) The reason why I said what I did is that a lot of people -- especially people who are new -- don't understand why the wait is as long or short as it is, and when they start comparing timelines or wait times without understanding the process, they start to freak out. They don't realize that some service centres take longer than others, or that spousal visas take longer than fiance visas due to different processing and as a result stress themselves out for no reason when they look at a list of different visas together. I didn't want that to happen to you all, or to anyone new reading this thread for that matter.

4) If you only wanted people from your forum or nationality to respond to the question, you should have said so from the beginning! This is a public forum, and anyone can read and respond when and where they want, and a lot of people don't pay attention to what forum a thread is posted in, they see the topic, they read, and they respond. I am one of those people. You can't be upset when others want to participate or comment in a public forum.

I am sorry you think I was not being nice by asking my question, it was not my intent. And with that being said, I am done. Hope you all have a nice day. smile.gif

Philippinesgot my green card
Typically one gets the 10 year green card if one has applied for the IR-1 (married for 2 years or more) OR during the process one has their 2 year anniversary and sometimes the 10 year card will be sent instead. K3s don't get a GC sent to them once the visa is activated, they have to go through AOS just like a K-1.

To the OP: if you filled out your paperwork using your maiden name, the GC comes in your maiden name, unless they have made a mistake. You may have to do some work to get your card switched if you plan on using your married name now that you are in the US.
