K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOCTOBER 2011 K1 FILERS!!

I also had my NOA1 from VSC on 28th October. I had my NOA2 on January 26th, i sent my packet 3 back last week and had my medical. Maybe you should call VSC?

I'm trying not to worry too much right now, as I'm still within the recommended time. You must have been lucky and got a kind officer lol!
I do wish it would hurry up though. It still hasn't been 'touched' since 4th December :/

Cadyinhaiti. I'm right with you! VSC is apparently quite behind on applications. The last time mine was updated was 12/04/2012.
I'd like to know something soon... But going by VSC processing times it says March 31st is the latest we should hear!

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOCTOBER 2011 K1 FILERS!!
I keep reading this thread and have decided to create an account and post on it!

Hey fellow October filers!
I'm so nervous waiting for our NOA2! We received NOA1 on October 29th and it has been at the Vermont SC since November 28th, I just want an approval now ahhh!
It would be slightly easier if it was just Matthew and myself caught up in this, but we also have a 3 month old daughter stuck in the waiting game in the UK with me. So this kinda needs to happen quick :(

I have found a slight issue though, I requested Matt to send me the copy of the petition via email and have noticed that he didn't DATE THE PETITION! Something always has to go wrong... I'm hoping it isn't major as we have submitted LOADS OF EVIDENCE, such as scan photo's, hospital records, phone records, photographs of us. Also, the letters of Intent are dated. Has anybody got any experience with something like this? (Positive answers would set my mind at ease lol)

Thank you guys & good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPacket 3 questions.
DS230 HELP!!
I have a K1 visa in the process and am about to complete the DS230, I have a child who is a US citizen, we registered her birth abroad at the London Embassy. She has a birth certificate, American passport & social security number and she will be moving with me.
Technically she will be moving at the same time as me, but not on the K1, she is a US citizen. This may sound silly but it's really confusing me. Do I have to name her on the 'packet' paperwork?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat if fiancee gave birth with our baby while we still in K-1 process
I am at the end of the K1 process in this country. Our daughter is now 6 months old and about to accompany me to the US, we registered her birth abroad at the embassy in London. She has a US passport, birth certificate and Social Security number. She is a US citizen and therefore does not need to be included on the K1 petition.
If you are going to go this route though, the US mother/father must be present in the country when being registered as they will be transferring citizenship. You will both have an interview under oath, you'll then be told the outcome and whether citizenship has been granted.
I think its around $200.

United KingdomShipping via family luggage - any advice?
Hi,

My family is coming to visit for my wedding in a few weeks, and seeing as they're allowed two cases each I've asked them to bring my stuff over (much cheaper wink.gif). It's mostly books and clothes, with a few cd's and dvd's for good measure.

I know customs and immigration can be a little unfriendly at times. Are there any forms I can fill out and give to my family so they won't get hassled? Would a copy of my I-94 be enough to prove they're bringing it for me so they won't have to risk paying fees?

Any help is greatly appreciated smile.gif

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMedical exam and self harm
Thanks for the advice and support everyone smile.gif

I'll be seeing my doctor as soon as I can this week to get a note saying all is well. Fingers crossed that it does the trick.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMedical exam and self harm
I don't think I could pass them off as anything other than self-inflicted, unless I happened to crash my car into a knife factory wink.gif

I haven't even seen my doctor in years, so I don't see how a note from him really proves anything. I'm sure the conversation will be great: "Hey, I used to self harm when I was 16, but now I don't, so can I have a note to prove it?".

Still, if there's one thing I've learnt from this visa business it's how to jump through hoops.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMedical exam and self harm
Hmm, I'd need to do that even though it was a short-term thing years ago that didn't require medical attention? To be honest I didn't even think about any of this until I saw it on the form.

That sucks.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMedical exam and self harm
I received package 3 in the mail a few days ago, and the form about the medical exam has me a little bit worried. When I was a teenager I cut myself on my legs and arms, and I have some pretty big scars. It was a long time ago and I've not repeated it since. I see there's a question about self-harm on the form. Will it effect my chances of passing the medical? What's likely to happen?

Thanks smile.gif
