Middle East and North AfricaQuestion about forms required...
I was looking at a link provided to me and it gave me a list of forms that will/or may be requested for the Noa2. But I have already submitted some of the forms.. I was wondering if the link could either be incorrect or Im just misunderstanding... says to submit the following forms:

I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiance(e) [USCIS Instructions](also used in K3 apps): This form is used to petition to bring your fiancé(e) and that person's children to the United States for marriage to you or to bring your spouse and that person's children (K-3 and K-4 visas, respectively) to the United States to complete processing for permanent resident status (under the LIFE Act and Amendments of 2000); please see section 12 of the Instructions to the form. I already submitted this one with the initial K1 Petition.

G-325A, Biographic Information: To provide biographic information on an alien. You file this form only as instructed on another Immigration application or petition. I already submitted this one also with the K1 Petition

DS-156K, Non-Immigrant Fiance(e) Visa Application: This is only needed (and should be provided) by the US Embassy issuing the Visa.

DS-156, Non-Immigrant Visa Application: Only needed at once you reach the US Embassy handling the Visa. Should also be provided by them.

DS-230, Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration: Only needed by US Embassy handling the Visa. Should be provided by them also.

I-134, Affidavit of Support: To file a promise with the Bureau to support an alien entering the United States and that the alien will not become a public charge. A separate affidavit must be filed by the sponsor for each person.

So I am wondering if I have to send the I-129F and the G-325 again. Thanks!

The last address of his Bio form states...
"123 Doodle Avenue" (Made up of course) Dates from: January 2209 - present

kicking.gif kicking.gif That's kind of like the story of Benjamin whatever where he gets younger since he lived backwards from 2209 to 2009! lol

I had a similar situation I guess. My husband moved from one flat to another but because Cairo's so effed up we didn't want to chance things so he just went to his old flat which wasn't too far away and checked for mail. In his neighborhood everyone knows everything that goes on so when he would get a package or a letter his phone would ring off the hook.

The only thing I would caution you with is that in *some* cases, not saying this would be your case, there are home investigations. I don't think this happens in Morocco that often but it did in Cairo when we were going through it.

Im just afraid they will acuse of of being dishonest on the Bio form if we did not update it. And not sure what questions they will ask in interview.. I mean if they bring up the last address listed on his bio form, and he says hes lived at 2 different addresses since then, they might say 'why didnt you tell us" and acuse him of with-holding information. You never know what apple you will get in the interview.. a good one or bad one.. and just worried and wanting everything to go smoothy. Kow what I mean? blush.gif blink.gif

Middle East and North AfricaConfusing Address Situation
have a address question and I am not sure how to explain it. My fiance has changed addresses. And we had not notified uscis because when I mailed the packet to them for the petition, I enclosed a letter with the mailing address of his employment kindly requesting that all correspondence be mailed to his work. He is still working in the same place. Now thats said, let me try to explain....

The last address of his Bio form states...
"123 Doodle Avenue" (Made up of course) Dates from: January 2209 - present

Thats the last address on form. A few months back he moved to another address.....
"1244 Whatever Street" He lived there from April 2209 to August 2009
We did not update Bio form with USCIS because as I stated above we just requested correspondence to be sent to his work address and did not think the address change was a big deal. But nowwwww he has moved again....

New address:
"124555 OMG Street" Dates from: August 2009 to present.

So the last two address are not on a updated form... He can still get his mail at the first address I listed "doodle ave' which is on his Bio bc his friends live there and will give it to him when his packet comes. And he can get it at his work address which I supplied to uscis.

Question being is it a BIG deal that they did not have the last two addreses he lived at??? Does it even matter? Will this even come up in the interview? All the moving was done after we submitted the petition. Im thinking of calling them on Monday and giving them the newer address. The one he's at now, and not even worry about the 2nd address "whatever street"? Are you as confused as I am??? Just need some thoughts on this... Thanks!!!!

I feel that way too sometimes! lol But whats worse... try posting a thread and "no one" commenting! I posted on on vj last night on a different forum than mena, on an address situation and "0" comments. lol Usually everyone is soo helpful and you get alot of comments. I will ask something or see something and not remember the post I seen it in, or if I ask something I will not remember the answer... so plz bear with me if I am repeticious... my question is... I just received of approval as some of you have read... and soon my fiance will receive his packet in the mail which I have heard could be within 4 weeks. Now, in that packet will he get his interview date? And if no, when do you think they will tell him his date for the interview? And when he gets his date will uscis email the date to me? Im really sorry if this haas already been said... "taking notes nowwww"...

Since you said "fiance" im assuming your a K1 visa.... packet 3 contains a list of things needed for interview. After you sumbit ds-230 part I, they will schedule an interview which is packet 4.

Consulates work differently. There is no "packet 3" or "packet 4" in Casablanca. There is a single packet that will include the interview date as well as the DS-230. Your fiance will bring the completed DS-230 to the interview. You will not receive separate notification of the interview date from USCIS.

Ok so when he gets his packet he will have his interview date in it. I was reading somewhere, cant remember where, a link someone sent me, and it said he should receive his packet in about 3-4 weeks after receiving the NOA2. I feel as nervous now as I did getting all the papers together for the initial petition. Im soo afraid I will do something wrong, or not do enough. Sorry everyone for all the questions... Im a basket of nerves since I got my NOA2. crying.gif

For all those waiting, Im sure your NOA2 will come anyday now. I emailed them about a question I had on the uscis website and I received a response back that they were still working on the March cases. And I received that just about 3 weeks ago. So at the time I did not expect to hear anything on my case for another month and a half atleast. Then suddenly I got the email stating my NOA2 was approved, so evidently they're catching up. So dont wory.... its coming! kicking.gif

I have heard tale of a mysterious envelope one gets from NVC or whoever... This envelope is not supposed to be opened and taken to the interview. My question is: Does the Noa2 packet hold the "mysterious envelope"? whistling.gif

Second question... Will I receive in the mail as petitioner just a letter of approval, or a envelope like my fiance 'beneficiary' will receive.

We were approved for our CR1.....First of all, I sincerely want to thank my visajourney family because without you guys and helping us prepare, I would not have done this so easily..Aziz told me that when his interview went smoothly. First he was interviewed by a Moroccan man for 3 minutes, then he was handed over to the feared blondie. For him, she was very nice and didn't take too long. She didn't look at any of the evidence and his fingerprints were actually free. She asked him a ton of questions and told him the magic words, "you can come back tomorrow to get your visa." I was surprised no AP, but I thank the lord that it went so easily and I wish the same for others that will be having their interviews in Casa.

OMG I am still processing this, but yes my day is good so far.

Mouds wife,
I have also read time and time again that they dont often dont ask for the 134 for k1's.

Listen,
take a deep breath and focus on what you do have, prepare it in a neat and easy to view way. You are wiggin out and thats TOTALLY understandable, but dont let it be so much that your gonna stroke out wink.gif when i read your latest threads i can tell your freaking and I feel for ya... breath, pray(if your into that) and prepare...thats all you can do

laughing.gif Thanks Y's_habibitk... you made me laugh so hard brought tears to me eyes! I didnt not think it was that obvious I was wiggin!! lmao!!! "Taking your advice into account"! As we speak now, to calm my nerves, I am reprinting everything I sent to uscis (along with new evidence) so I can send that to my fiance. Im spending my time putting everything into a nice, pretty, neat lil' 'easy to view' package.... as long as Im busy doing something for this case, I'm pretty good. Its when I will run out of papers to print and things to do for it, when the waiting sets in that I will actually 'really' wig I think! lol

Im glad you got a laugh. Months before our interview I was planning on what folders to use, how to sort them and just generally nutting up about every piece of paper and photo.. I was annoyed when he rearranged the photo album that I spent an hour on LOL so i get it

Thats funny! I would die (or maybe him) if he rearranged it. I thought about what I was going to put it in last night... and thought of a nice decorative cover... but then I got to thinking, I could just see him walking into embassy with it, alot of men, looking at the 'pretty girly binder he was carrying"... lol that would be hilarious.

I appreciate the nice words, I have to say this is the FIRST relationship I am in that I DON'T have a nagging feeling or red flag...and I don't think I know what to do! LOL Thanks for not thinking I'm a nut wacko.gif

Well if your a nut ur not the only nut around... wacko.gif Im an admitted nut too! Can we hug now???? biggrin.gif lolol I used to do the same things. But now I refuse to read the horrow stories. When I first told my mom about my fiance she immediately freaked girlwerewolf2xn.gif and satrted a post on Daniels Pipes about our relationship, and what she could do to stop it. OMG! I would get on there and read the stupid things they had to say, and then got on there and told them how stupid they were and left... with the intent to never return. But every now and then I would peek back to see whats being said about me and leave again. But after reading these things, as usual, my fiance would see right through me and I had to fess up or the whole talk for that night would be shot to heck. And I would end up hurtng his feelings for having these fears...and would feel lik ultimate #######. I also came out of a bad marriage and have trust issues. I think the stupidest things at time. Like, one night we were going to bed at same time, then the next morning i get my usual email from him, with him saying he was up for 6 hours on computer 'improving his english skills' bc he could not sleep after we left. And of course what am i thinking?? Nothing positive... im wondering 'what the HECK are you doing online for 6 hours?" A girl? chat? omg what could it beeeeeeeeeeeee????? And Im freaking out tooo. But it is destructive to the relationship. Mine has never caused me to have doubt.... he doesnt go out with friends, he is never late in coming to see me, we talk everyday and dont miss a day unless his internet service is down.. and in those times I go 'hummmm' too. But thats rare his service is down. He is such a great person, and to me hes perfect! :-) But what was causing those doubts in my relationship was 'other' ppls doubts. Reading all the horror stories!!! If we read them it sticks on our minds somewhere! Kinda like the time I saw my parents having mmmm "s_x" when I was 10 accidently... that image will never leave my mind... im scared for life! rofl.gif Well reading horror stories is the same thing... they are in ur memory... and you cant forget them. So its best not to read them at all and have faith in your relationship. (((HUGS))))

Middle East and North AfricaMisc Fees after the Noa2
I have seen on another forum where some are talking about fees required after receiving the NOA2. Many people replied with different fee amounts... so I thought I would come to the source since I will be going through Casablanca to see what some have paid. Here is a list of things people have been charge fees for. This is quoted from another website....

$140.00 - Mailing papers to Morocco using Gauranteed Global Express with USPS (my quote)
$229 - Medical (I heard it was $130.00)
$146 - Interview (Never heard of that one....hummm)
$73 - X-ray (I heard was included in the $130.00 medical)
$60 - Vaccinations (I heard that was also included in the $130.00 medical)
$960 - Plain Ticket (I wonder who got that lucky to get such a cheap price!)
$1010.00 for Adjustment of Status to be paind before his visa expires on 90 days
$??? - Police records
$??? - Paper showing singlehood (We'll have to do this...)

Just trying to get an idea whats coming up.... and Im sure others are wondering too. whistling.gif

Have I missed any other fees? blink.gif

Every true immigration subsection of VJ has a "pinned topics" area. These topics were seen by the users on this site to be the most important threads that pertained to the specific sections. I have seen you post much here in the MENA forum - this forum is wonderful to meet other MENA peeps - especially ladies, as they are the typical USC/ MENA petitioner. I would suggest you ask your true immigration questions in the K1 forum and your cultural questions in this thread. Many will have some experience with what you're going through, but the best place to find CORRECT advice on immigration topics is in the actual forum. I almost compare it to a library and Starbucks - I go to a library to get the most information I can get my hands on, I go Starbucks to get the dish on the gossip.

Good luck! good.gif

Im finding that is the best place to go to also, and have started doing that more and more. But some of the information can be different depending on where the fiance is from.... so thats when I had the bright idea huh.gif to post my question about fees here on mena hoping to find some more helpful responses. Turns out, the other forum was more helpful for getting answers to this question. Someone sent me a link, cant remember who, and I peeped at it and it was extremely helpful and had everything in it I had been wanted to know. biggrin.gif

***this was never about vj user names. what i was trying to get across is that it is not much of a stretch to imagine that perhaps "mouadswife" may refer to herself as such in other correspondences like emails, chat transcripts, etc. that she has with her fiance. i have read numerous times of other vj users doing this, affectionately with each other, and if they use those correspondences as their evidence at the consulate then they could run into some problems. or if he accidentally referred to his fiance as his wife at the interview, or at the point of entry it could cause problems due to misunderstandings. it has nothing to do with vj. i couldn't care less if she wants to call herself that here, or anywhere else. just be careful with what the consulate sees, or officers at the point of entry hear.

and i certainly can't speak for all moroccan guys on this, but the ones i know would be embarrassed about their wives or fiancees asking about fee stuff for them.

Well, I know 'my' fiance best and his ego does not shatter easily and he's not too proud to ask for help. But thanks for looking out for my relationship. Nice to know someone has my back when it comes to the does and donts of what 'my' fiance may not approve of.

in the context of an immigration website, there is a huge difference between referring to oneself as "river" and referring to oneself as being someone's "wife". when applying for a k-1 visa, such references can have very serious ramifications if it's something this couple does amongst themselves in their correspondences, if they are planning on using those correspondences as evidence during a visa interview. in the past, there has been a vj member whose fiance was turned away at the point of entry because he was entering the us on a k-1 visa, and he referred to his fiancee as his wife. if my comment incited a response that would lead to this couple being a little more cautious about referring to each other in married terms while pursuing a k-1 visa, i don't see how that could possibly be construed as a negative thing. your jumping to conclusions didn't help anyone here.

It appeared that between your response "what i don't understand is how someone can be "mouadswife" and be applying for a k-1. how's that work then?" and the one made prior to your from another offensive member held the appearance of insiting negative reactions.

I do not have to explain my user name "MouadsWife" to anyone. As far as turned away from entry... I pretty much doubt he'll be telling the POE officers "oh, by the way... did you know my wifes user name on vj is MoudasWife??" There are also papers one can obtain from court stating one is married or is not married.

Also, the replies had nothing to do with the information that I was trying to gather. I needed these answers for a legitimate reason. Doesnt matter if anyone else thinks these reasons are not founded, but the fact remains I needed the answers. And I received was a bunch of bs from certain members, when all I needed was assistance that wasnt difficult to give.

Vj should be an envroment where people can come and ask without judgement, persecution, or receive people negative oppinions. Dont you suppose there is enough stress in this visa process for members to treat other members like this? Im not talking about what the other members said to me, Im talking about what is being said to all members on this forum. If a person cant say anything nice at all then remember the golden rule and dont say anything at all. There are posts deleted on that forum so no one can go back and get a true perpective. But the point is, we should talk to anyone on vj that way at all. We are all here for support and if you cant give it in a contructive compassionate maner then it shouldnt be given at all. If a person want to be rude to others and insulting, then they shouldnt be here at all. This is not what vj is about and it gives vj a bad name.

The purpose of this forum is to assist people. And I wouldn't take what Chemaatah said lightly. I have heard, but I don't know if it true, that the Immigration does skim through this site. Perhaps the chances of this creating a problem is slight, but having a denial myself over a misunderstanding makes me think twice about anything that could possibly lead them to get the wrong impression.

As for assisting you with you questions. It has been way to long for me to remember any of this from memory. I think this is probably why you haven't had much response to your questions. I also think this is why it has been suggested to do a search in VJ. People are willing to help, but is it really fair to ask them to do the same searches that you can do for yourself?

Middle East and North AfricaQuestions Questions Questions in the Interview!
I am curious from the experiences that many of our vj members have had, what types of questions have the embassy asked in the interview. I am curious as to what to expect in the interview and what types of things should we be prepared for. This may be covered somewhere else, but I would like to begin a fresh thread and Im sure others would like to hear also. Thanks!!

Middle East and North AfricaQuestion on Affidavit of support
QUOTE (Resha~Adnan @ Oct 7 2009, 10:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
ahhhh... thanks MouadsWife.. that is the clearest answer i have seen from all the times i have asked about this lol

I see that your interview date is just a few days before ours. Ours is November 7th! After you have yours, please let us know how it went ok? Have you been able to get any costs of medical fees? My fiance called 2 doctors, and one quoted 1500dh, and another 1800. The one for 1500dh converts to about $197.00. There is a female doctor that everyone is saying we should go to. Why I dont know. But I dont have a cost on her yet. She told my fiance to wait 15 days before the interview to get it done. But I dont want to wait at the last minute. We are going to try to get ours done by the end of the month. Not sure how much it will cost to get the other things done like the police certificate, court certificate and singlehood certificate.

I'm sure you will get some ladies chiming in soon with experience, but everything I have read out of Casa says, no...they dont ask for it for the K1

My fiance received his packet 3, and on the list of forms required there was anot a request for the I-134 Affidavit of Support. Howeverrrrrr one form that was requested that he bring was form DS-156K 'Nonimmigrant Fiance Visa Application. On this form it states...

"THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS MUST BE ATTACHED IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR A FIANCE NONIMMIGRANT VISA"

1. Your Birth Certificate
2. Birth Certificate of all children listed in number 5
3. Death Certificate of Spouse
4. Mariiage Certificate
5. Divorce Certificate
6. Evidence of Engagement to your fiance (how the heck u prove that?????)
7. Evidence of Financial Support

So I am bringing my I-134 Affidavit of Support form in case they ask for it. As I said, it was not on the list of required documents, but it was listed n that form. unsure.gif

Middle East and North AfricaForms to mail to Casa prior to interview...
I have seen where some say that some forms are to be mailed to Casa prior to the interview date. We are approved and our petition is already there and my fiance has received his packet 3. Are any of those forms supposed to be mailed to the colsulate prior to the interview date? Forms request are...

DS-157
DS-156
DS-156K
DS-230 part I
DS-230 Part II

These were the form requested. I thought initially that all of there were to be submitted AT the interview, and NONE were to be mailed before the interview. Does anyone know?

Middle East and North Africa? About Costs, Mailing Proof and Docs for Interview!
Im wondering if the tax transcripts will actually help me. Last year I only worked 8 months out of the year so did not meet the income requirement. And the years before that I filed with my ex and I did not work then. But... I do have a sponsor so I guess she could request transcripts. And so you say its free?? Thanks for all the advice!!

Maybe you can email some of these documents to him and he can print them out.
How is the mail service in Morocco?
Everytime I send something to Jordan, I send it DHL or Fed ex. I have them hold it at the office. When it arrives, they call my husband and he picks it up.

He seems to get my letters and cards ok without any problems. Takes about 2 weeks for it to get there. But once I sent him a birthday present in a box... it cost more to ship it than his present cost.. and it never arrived! Customs probably had a blast with it! So I worry about anything that is larger than a small envelope. How much did you spend on DHL and FedEx? Just to give me an idea. I should be mailing my papers this week sometime.

Middle East and North Africa? About Costs, Mailing Proof and Docs for Interview!
Im not sure the best place for this post, I put it on the main board, but wondering if I should put it here too... so I did! Our interview is in December, and have acquired so much to send as far as proof for the interview. And actually, I think I do have a oak tree of chat logs and emails! BUT... to save money on shipping costs I was thinking of not sending the emails and chat logs. And only the forms and the pictures and phone records. I have about 5 lbs of paperwork I think, maybe more...and to send that, using (United States Postal Service) usps gauranteed mail will be about $200.00. So thought about cutting back on those and just not sending them to save money. Can I get some thoughts on this? I thought maybe uscis would have send 'all' of it to Casablanca. Chat logs and phones records is pretty much what weighs the most!

What I had planed for my fiance to take to the interview is this:

1. Requested forms (that I am filling out for him)
2. I-134 Aff of Support (Just in case its requested)
3. Pictures
4. Should I send proof again from when I was there? Plane tickets?????? Just thought of this....
5. Chat logs... 1 chat per month for last year and a half
6. Emails
7. Copies of letter mailed to him, and from his he has mailed to me.
8. Phone records

Usps International gauranteed mail to send 7lbs of papers is $214.00, and will get there within 3 bussiness days. Standard International is about $66.00 for 10lbs but its not gauranteed and will get there within 10 bussiness days. Im really afraid to send it standard mail. Im afraid its going to get lost and it will be hard to get the signed letters from employement,e tc, again for the affidavit support. Sooooo.... with the above question, does anyone also have any advice on best economical way to ship thats pretty much gauranteed. Thanks!

Middle East and North AfricaSending money to ME/NA
When my fiance comes here, I am 100% completely supportive of him sending money to his family. His family is not well off and is dependant on his support, and I am with him 100%. His family is my family, and I want to be assured they are taken care of. happy.gif

Also they may ask the same question but in different ways, remember this is Morocco, unlike most any other embassy, not to scare but you must study and be prepared. Try not to mention any money that has been sent, its like if not asked dont say. Stick to the question given no more no less and try not to hesitate in answering like your trying to (think) up the correct answer. The lady Ahmed had the first time was awful in her attitude, the second time the lady was very nice and actually had a short conversation about the music they both liked and and was very friendly but this is not always the case. Be prepared for the age question if that is a problem, be prepared to answer if kids are in the future plans, what work do you plan to do once here, how does your family feel about you marrying, they can and do ask all kids of things

So about the money issue... on form DS-156 question 28 asks... "Who willPay for your trip" (to usa)... I typed an answer of "Fiance (meaning me), or Uncle. I have not sent the form off yet. Was that a good or bad answer?

if thats true, its the right answer wink.gif dont lie on ANY forms. the truth is the good answer... she's talking more about sending your SO money IE western union or something. which is a very good point btw, thats very out of the cultural norm. unless its him sending you money biggrin.gif then send that as proof!

Well I willbe sending him money by western union to help with costs of medical and things he has to get done for interview. Can that be traced? I mean could they find that out?

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Case Number or Receipt Number????
I received my receipt number in May 2009. It was on my NOA1 Notice of Action form. I am still to this date unable to enter it into the uscis.gov website 'trying to add a case to my portfolio'. Each time I enter it, I get a error message stating that I am attempting to either add a case that does not exist or enter an incorrect number and to check the number again. My question is, when adding a case to my portfolio, to review any updates, etc., do I enter a receipt number? The one that begins with 'EAC" or do I enter a case number? Its been 3 months and 5 days now that I have been trying to add this.

I seen a post a few minutes ago asking about a case number, which got me thinking if that was what I was supposed to be entering and not the EAC receipt number. Any idea?

oh, and I Have called uscis 3 times about this, and each time I am told that they will forward my request to the appropriate person and to retry again in 24-48 hours. wacko.gif
