I just clicked the Berkely link in Mari Joe's sig and I'm 48 on Igor's list!! Gosh, I remember when I was in the 200's....

I too called USCIS this morning (*hangs head in shame). I got through to a USCIS officer and got the same thing as before. It could possibly take up to 60 days to get a determination after the RFE but she did say that it usually doesn't take that long. When I asked her why it keeps being updated she didn't know. She had no way to communicate anything to anyone and would not issue a service request because of that freakin 60 days that has been added to my case due to RFE.

So.....I'm sitting here and waiting. I sure hope some of ya'll get approved, that always makes me feel better! I am hatin on April today though (sorry April filers).

Missy, were you talking to the first-level CSR, or did you escalate to an actual USCIS officer?

Well March family, I'm planning to call USCIS tomorrow and escalate to an immigration officer to see if I can get any real details on where my case stands. This will be in preparation for my letter for my congressman demanding action, which I will send at close of business Thursday—unless, of course, I get NOA2 before that.

Richard, when you prepared your attachments detailing all these April approvals, did you just use straight printouts from VisaJourney.com (Igor's List) or did you take the info and reformat it?

I basically used http://www.visajourn...t...ll&dfile=No with a little editing to make my points.

Ah, cool. I forgot you could do those reports. I'm already starting to think about my Friday morning hell-raising letter to the congressman's office.

You go BOY! with any luck whatsoever, you wont even need to make that call!

I hope not—but the way I figure it, if I don't prepare anything for Friday morning, I'll won't have heard anything. If I put in a lot of time on a carefully-crafted letter with lots of supporting evidence, I won't need it. blink.gif

Richard and Arabella, definitely get on the phone to USCIS today. Light a fire under 'em!

First step is getting past the automated voice response system. Tell it you're outside of current processing times—pay no attention to that 30 days nonsense, if you're 1 day out of current processing time you're entitled to action.

Second, I'd suggest trying to escalate. The Level I CSRs are contractors, NOT USCIS employees. They're in a call center somewhere, and they can't see anything on their screen beyond what we can see on CRIS. Ask to speak to someone higher up—the Level II reps ARE USCIS officers, and from what I've read they often have access to more information than what the Level I reps can give you.

Be polite, but persistent. Don't take no for an answer. Good luck!

mayandtim, the approval process (and wait) is no different whether you prepare the paperwork yourself or hire a lawyer/agency to do it for you. If a lawyer/agency promises that they can get you approved faster, they're lying to try to get your money.

Just an aside regarding your timeline: if you mailed your I-129F package on March 10, March 24 seems awfully late for your NOA1. Remember, the NOA1 date is the date printed on the receipt notice, NOT the date it came in the mail. I sent our I-129F package on 3/25 and got NOA1 on 3/27, but the hardcopy didn't arrive for another week or so.

I really see it as someone gets a box... someone else gets another... the approvals and RFEs are very close together and dated close as well... but, you're right... who knows

Five months and a day is what I was told when I called this past week. Until then, you're still considered to be within the "normal processing time" and they won't do a service request. Friday will be 5 months + 1 day for me, and you'd better believe I'm gonna be on the phone to USCIS and my congressman's office if I don't have my NOA2 --- and no more Mr. Nice Guy this time.

Yeah I did. It doesn't have an option to speak to a human. Maybe it is buried in the prompts somewhere.

Well I did call and after going through several prompts it says that if it is less than 30 days beyond the processing time (the 5 months) to just wait. So I hung up.

That's where you went wrong--when it asks if your case is outside of the current processing time, answer yes and keep going like that until it tells you it's transferring you to a customer service representative.

Thanks Stephen+Elisha and Majid Anna, I really appreciate your help. Now to my next question do I also send copies of my W2s or the Transcripts covers that and right now i don't really have much money in my account and i don't own any property now so will a letter from my employers just suffice? Thanks again.

Although I believe the official transcript is enough, personally I would send the W2s... a letter from the employer also doesnt hurt, bank statements, even with a small amount on deposit I would also send... give them NO reason to deny the visa!! smile.gif but that is just my opinion

W-2s are a good idea.

Another good idea is to visit the consulate's web page to find out what kind of evidence they like to see. Keep in mind that tax returns and W-2s reflect past income; while they are a good indicator of your sustained earning ability over time, they do not necessarily provide evidence of current income. For that, pay stubs (6 months' worth is a good rule of thumb) and a letter from your employer are very useful.

evanscholly, your best bet is to order transcripts from the IRS. Transcripts are free and can be ordered by phone by calling 800-829-1040 and following the automated prompts. I received mine in approximately 1 week.

The benefit of a transcript is that it proves that your returns were filed and accepted by the IRS.
