K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Processed payment of fiance visa	Congratulations on getting this far—but don't get too excited just yet. USCIS considers the target processing time for I-129F petitions to be 5 months. While it often doesn't take that long, it's not considered to be "overdue" until 5 months have passed. What you can do now: view the cashed check on your bank's website when the image becomes available, and find the number that starts with WAC. It's usually on the back of the check, but recently some have been printed on the front. This is your I-129F receipt number. You can use it to check your case status on the USCIS website and register for email/SMS status updates. Another great thing to do: - http://www.visajourn...eline/intro.php - This will allow you to get estimates from VJ on the actual processing time to expect based on other users' timelines, and will in turn help VJ to give more accurate estimates to you and everyone else. I guess Kai&I are really the non-lucky April filers though! Before I moved back from Niger to France we did ask the vermont center to change my address so the case goes to the Paris consulate and they did say it was ok. However it seems like they gave the Niger address to the NVC, who logically sent our case there.. We then called Niger, asked them to transfer and thought they had, till we found out recently they hadn't. The consulate in Niger was very non professional plus very defensive agressive with me on the phone. I got the consul herself who just kept repeting "this is not an overnight process".. I was like "I'm aware of this it's been processing for more than 6 month, I'm just trying to track my case .." they basically kept our case there for no reason for one entire month. So frustrating... I also called the consulate in Paris (14euros) and got an guy on the phone who had no idea what he was talking about. NO IDEA. he was just useless and rude. I eventually got a consulate officer in Paris who knew what she was doing but was obviously overburdened by all the cases she has to deal with... Another French couple from California had their NOA2 after us and they received their package 3 two weeks ago!! it just seems so unfair. I'm happy for them of course, but I want mine as well!!! What I hate most in the whole process (appart that we are separeted of course) is how frustrated and angry it makes us feel. it's like everything is on hold.. So today I went to the cinema to see "the visitor". I guess I needed a story worst then mine to put my situation into perspective. At least I don't have a risk of being deported so it's not that bad... Now we just have to wait, not knowing when the case will get to Paris. The consulate officer in Paris said they were scheduling interview for December right now, so by the time they get my case and we process package 3 we are more than likely to have an interview in January... well, good luck to all of u with finishing K1 and starting AOS! and keep posting on VJ ! We sent our petition mid April, it was received on the 30st of April and we got NOA1 only 22nd of May.. :about 5 weeks to get NOA1..didn't start too well!! since then it's been almost 4 month and we are still waiting for NOA2. we got touched for the first time last Friday so we are hoping for a good news soon in the meantime I've stoped my job and I'm going to visit Kai in DC this week so the wait isn't that bad !(hopefully I'll have a cool officer at the custom though..). Anyways, I just wanted to say hi and congratulation to all the april filers that were approved and are on the final run process, and bon courage to all those that are still waiting like Kai and I!! we are really happy visa journey exists, it make the whole process much more understandable and bearable! Looking at your list, we sent many of the same things as you: deed showing joint ownership of our house, joint bank statements, joint tax return transcripts for 2009 and 2010. (Incidentally, transcripts are always better than copies of the returns you sent because the transcripts prove you filed. You can get them in about a week if you order them through the IRS website.) Besides those, we also sent our daughter's birth and baptismal certificates, a copy of my 401(k) beneficiary designation form designating Elisha as my beneficiary, a health insurance statement showing Elisha and our daughter as covered dependents on my policy, a copy of our auto insurance policy info showing both our names as covered drivers on the policy, copies of our family plan cellular bill with both our names on it, a copy of our confirmation from our first anniversary vacation, and a bunch of photos showing the two (later three) of us together. They approved Elisha without an interview (card production ordered today) based on that evidence, so I would think if you have any of the above they couldn't hurt. Good luck and hope you're sharing good news soon! RFE received today I sent in what we have - the mortgage for our house, joint; joint bank accounts, tax returns with his name on the return, but he wasn't filing as he had no income (didn't work for a year and a half). I'm not really sure what else to send them. We don't have much more than that. We have another year of tax returns, another year of bank statements, another year of mortgage payments..... Nothing to worry about, methinks. For naturalization based on marriage to a US citizen, the requirements are: 3 years as a lawful permanent resident Present in the United States for at least 18 months out of the 3 years No absences from the US of more than 1 year without an approved Application to Preserve Residence for Naturalization Purposes The Naturalization Eligibility Worksheet has all the info you need. No one was there and I had to wait long enough to fill out the form. The longest part was the faff of getting the prints done. I was in and out really quick. They really enforced the no cell phone rule. I didn't take mine, but everyone got asked if they had theirs on them. i reiterate, no one was there ahead of me (well, maybe 2 people) and I got taken right away. Most ungovernment like. It was almost pleasant. We had a similarly good experience at the Alexandria ASC when we went there for AOS biometrics 2 years ago. Glad to hear it's still a pleasant experience. I-551 is the form number for the Permanent Resident Card (green card). An I-551 stamp is placed into a passport as a temporary substitute for a valid green card. A foreign passport with an I-551 stamp inside is proof of legal presence, and authorizes employment and travel abroad during its period of validity. I changed my address via AR-11. Does my wife (my sponsor) need to do anything? Yes. As your sponsor, your wife was required to file an affidavit of support for you on form I-864 or I-864EZ. In addition, if your green card expiration date gets close and you still haven't gotten the NOA, make an InfoPass appointment to go to your local USCIS office for an I-551 stamp in your passport. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 January 2012 Filers	As of this morning our checking account shows a pending debit from "VSC FIELD OFFICE PAYMENT," so it looks like our NOA1 is on the way! As an aside, the electronic debit thing annoys me... back when I filed the I-129F for my then-fiancee's K-1, I was able to get the receipt number from the online check image well before the paper NOA1 showed up in the mail.
