K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFrustrated

She must be under some form of AP (Administrative Processing) and background checks?

Why not call the embassy to ascertain the reason(s) for the delay in issuing the visa?

Philippinesletter of intent question:)
I don't know about the California Center, but I know I did not sent the letter of intent and I did not get and RFE. I just sent it to my fiance' to turn in.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsk-1 timeline

Yes, I have called and left messages, and emailed several times. I have not personally visited b/c the law firm and he is in NY while I'm in AR. So your process from file date to him coming to the states took 5 months total? Im not including the once he got here processes.

The process is longer than 5 months, that is just the time line to get through USCIS.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA2 Approved

YAY....
We Were approved and ready for next step;..

So I dont know where to start as far as FORMS and PRINTING...

Help with some tips :)

I already did form ds230..

What else?

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

1.

A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).

2.

Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

3.

Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

4.

I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

5.

You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.

6.

A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.

7.

Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Examples: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

Email the embassy and request the packet 3 because your fiance never received it. They will either send it to you or him or instruct you what to do.

Include in the subject line the NOA2 receipt number

No its not required. Some bring it. I guess if you have it okay but I wouldn't worry about it.

Hi Debbie, just a quick update on my wife's interview in Accra, Ghana. She was easily approved! We had the most difficult CO (window #4), yet he hardly asked my a single question.

I made sure I was there to attend and to support my wife. Also, I wanted to thank you for the great job you're doing on this site all your during the process. Will certainly make sure to update my timeline & will provide full details of the interview soon! Thanks much!

You must be the one splitting hairs here. I was talking about my wife's situation and it wasn't an issue. Sure if OP is worried about expiration of their PC situation, by all means they must go ahead and get new one!

OP said the police cert expires in 3 months and the 3 months will be due before interview, so the husband of course needs a new one. Pls don't get her confused cos yours was 4 months due at the time of your interview which isn't applicable to hers

No I would not. My wife's police cert was four months due to expire at the time of interview and we had no problems.

Once its NOT expired no need.

Thank you everyone!!!! I do have a question. My husband stated that his police report expires in 3mos and 3 mos will be right before the interview. should we pay for another one?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMy wife's visa is approved!

Please note: This post has also been submitted in the Consulate Review section for members there benefit.

I am absolutely glad to update the forums on my wife's visa interview experience at the US Embassy, Accra, Ghana. For starters, the interview was quick and went easily. It also helped a lot that I was present for the interview.
We got to the Embassy gates about 45mins before the appointment time of 7:30am. The in-take and processing of the paperwork was the pain in terms of the wait time.
But when my wife was called to window #4, I could see her heart sink. What we had heard is that, that particular CO is the most difficult to deal with. But I was confident we will get an approval because of how meticulously I had put our paperwork together. To my surprise, he was pleasant and professional. Anyway, the CO said hello and we responded and we also asked him how he was doing. We had our 5-yr old daughter with us, so he asked if that was our daughter. We both responded in the affirmative at the same time. The CO kept reviewing the I-864 and other relationship documents (pictures, western union receipts etc etc). Within two minutes or so he asked if we had our daughter's CRBA with us...? I immediately pulled it out of my files. He examined it to make sure it had my wife's name as the mother. He also asked me "how long have you been in the country, and when do I plan on leaving"? I told him on 22nd of Jan and as soon as my wife's visa is issued. There and then, he said: "Mrs. Wilson, all your paperwork looks in order for your visa. Please come back on Friday January 17th for your visa. He handed my wife a blue visa pick-up sheet and said, congratulations!!! Do not make any travel plans until you have your visa in hand"
All in all, he never asked my wife a single interview question!

We both thanked him and walked out in hugging celebrations!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - October 2013

Hello,

I paid IV Fees on OCT 07, but as of today status is still "IN PROGRESS". Isn't this a bit too long? I was assuming it would get "PAID" within 2 - 3 business days.

Anyone else on the same boat?

P.S - The IV status page doesn't show me a transaction ID.

Kaale and Dalli, exactly in the SAME boat. I paid my IV fees on the same date Oct 7th. I called NVC & they told me it might be a "system error" so give it a few days. That was last week. When I called last night, NVC said give it to up Friday 10/18/2013 to call back. So just to make sure the problem wasn't coming from my end, I called my bank if the $230 fee was presented for payment. My bank said no. The money is still sitting there as I write.

This is unduly delaying my process...On the call, I requested that a supervisor look into it. I am now waiting for that review by the supervisor. Please let me know if you call and NVC is able to resolve or tell you something different.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - October 2013

Boggy, I also found the NVC interesting.  I asked a generic question about what they require for an I-130 to prove I can support my spouse and I couldn't get a simple answer over the phone.  Just unhelpful and non-customer focused.  Also no accountability.  It's a bit of a shame really.  I too work in a public service (educational) capacity and this would be unacceptable in my field, too...just thought I'd share.

Thanks Jenmatt for helping express my thoughts precisely! -- you hit the nail right on the head. Just unhelpful, non-customer focused and very unfriendly bunch!

Anyway, I hope your case get processed speedily! My very best to you both!

You have to keep in mind, there are thousands and thousands of people going through NVC. It's going to take them time to get to everyone's paperwork.

Yes Saylin, I clearly get the fact that it's lots & lots of cases for NVC review.

What I was actually wondering was, when I asked for a specific timeline, the lady could not provide one. The lack of an expected timeline to complete an action is what I found interesting. I work for an arm of the Department of State. In my Bureau, there's clearly laid out timelines/deadlines to complete each specific action/assignment. We get thousands if not millions of grant & contracts to review too. My thoughts were about accountability.

Why is it taking NVC so long to review DS261?

I called NVC this morning and I was told they're reviewing the DS26i... 15days to review a two-page document? Anyone had such response lately?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-130 NOA1 - Form I-797 Returned by Post Office

1. They will not give you a RFE for wrong address. Never heard of such thing.

2. The Post Office returning your mail piece will not delay your process. You will still get your notifications via texts & email anyway.

3. Thirdly, USCIS has sent you an email informing you that they will be re-sending your NOA1. I wouldn't fret.

4. Spend your wait time by reading up on the next steps i.e. NVC doc intake process & consulate interview reviews.

I received email today saying I got RFE.  It didn't say why; I have to wait until I get it in the mail.  I sumbitted more evidence than necessary for I-130 approval.  So the only thing I can think of is they are giving me an RFE for the address problem.  Has anyone every heard of them giving an RFE because of returned mail?  Note: I had called them telling my mailing address was correct and then sent me an email after that stating they were resending the NOA1.
