United KingdomLondon November Interviewees - has your date been put back?

Even that may not guarantee that it arrives on time. My fiancé paid for the before noon delivery and it showed up a bit after noon today. Apparently the driver was stuck in traffic.

Yeah i know. But at least it will have more priority so it wont be getting held until the next day unless something out of their control happens.

United KingdomLondon November Interviewees - has your date been put back?

Wow I never thought about that but I bet you are right!! OK everyone is entitled to a holiday but why give a person a date (after months of waiting and not being able to make plans) and then change it. Surely the department should be planning ahead if they know holidays are coming up? My interview (providing it goes ahead) will be 7 weeks after my medical. My friend Holly (on here) got her interview 5 weeks after her medical so its all a bit of a lottery, timing-wise. Let us know when you get your interview! You could try phoning the Extortion Line now but you might just be wasting money if they haven't scheduled your appointment yet.

Mine was actually 6 weeks after. I spent the longest 4 weeks of my life waiting for that appointment date! I was given two weeks notice.

My visa came 7 days after the interview at 8pm! Two hours after the latest time for delivery. So i would recommend to anyone going for their interview to pay the extra £6 (i think it was) for delivery before 12. That was one painful day of waiting! I thought it was never going to come. The driver told me he was not going to deliver any more visas that day and he was going home even though he had 10 more to deliver.

Tesco offer them too. Also a lot of smaller chemists do. (I will get back to your PM asap! I only get chance to get on here when my daughter is asleep now!)

United KingdomVisiting the UK
My husband (we were not married during these trips) has been let in 3 times for a 5 week stay, 3 months then another 3 months. The third trip he didnt leave. We did the UK version of AOS on the advice of a lawyer.

He never had any problems and never showed any documents with ties to the US. The third trip when asked the reason for visit his answer was "My girlfriend is having my baby" because i was! All they were concerned about was how much money he had.

Just tell the truth and take proof of ties to the US.

Mark was approved yesterday :) He has tickets for the 25th though and I'm thinking that's cutting it a tad close to visa delivery!!

Congrats! He should be ok, just! They seem to take about a week for most people.

Did you get your visa?

Yeah i did :D 7 days after the interview. Booked in for 8am to 6pm delivery which arrived at 8pm. I wish i had paid the £6 extra for before 12 noon delivery now!

awww bless my little girl well she is even tho she's 21, told her think we'd be pushing booking flight to get her here for 22nd nov ( interview 13th nov ) and would maybe leave it until the following week,

her reply..." well your just gonna have to wait another week to celebrate thanksgiving, cos you aint got anything to be thankful for until i get there"

point taken but by i was looking forward to the prime rib a bit earlier lol

Aww youre all going to have loads to celebrate this year!

Normally i would say wait until the visa is in your hands but i didnt take my own advice! I booked mine for the 22nd October after a 3rd October approval. The visa is scheduled for delivery today (one week after interview). So i would leave close to 3 weeks as a minimum really if youre going to do it in advance.

Thanks :) I dont think you will be waiting much longer. Their mail takes forever! They sent me the appointment letter on the 19th and there is still no sign of it. Maybe tomorrow. I hope yours comes soon :)

Dont forget you also need to leave time for the medical to reach the embassy. So the closer to the 8th, the better.

Keep calling Knightsbridge and ask for cancellations. If the results dont get to the embassy in time, they will approve your visa (if they plan to based on everything else) once the results are in.

Yeah it was near to Bond Street. It was really easy to find. It says flat 3 or something but its actually on the ground floor and its the door on the right.

I cant wait for that letter to come through my letter box! Call for your medical asap because they can have some quite long waiting times every so often. You can call them every couple of days to get a cancellation if you want sooner than they've got too.

It doesn't really matter what the reason is, the fact still remains - they have not sent the letter yet and there is nothing we can do about it!

Im completely with you on the frustration etc. I've been stalking my post man for a month (it really isn't a creepy as it sounds) But there is only one thing to do - wait!

We're doing CR-1 DCF too and sent back DS-230 and DS-2001 on the 15th August, signed for on the 16th. I called on the 10th September and they hadn't even opened the mail yet! They said its taking about 4 weeks just to open and log mail. Medical was on the 23rd August and still waiting...

United KingdomPACKET 3 and DS-2001 SENT
A few weeks ago things seemed to be moving a lot faster and some people got interviews with 3-4 days notice but it seems to have slowed right down lately with logging the DS forms. One email i had from them said an interview will be scheduled as soon as the DS forms get logged and another said within 4 weeks of them being logged. So its just a case of waiting unfortunately.

Chances are you will get it back in time. It usually takes about a week. With Christmas in there im not so sure but it looks like it is your only option.
