they keep a copy of the medical exam on file. its worth a try getting a copy of the ds 3025. gooooooooodluck! Surprisingly the office wasnt too bad to me. maybe its because im a guy and they're used to deal with catty women lol

Muz did not completely have an awful experience during the medical in Edmonton. However he did have to wait quite a while for the xray. It was as if they had forgot about him. He finally got up and reminded them that he was there. They aslo refused to mail his medical results. We had to find some one in Edmonton, pay them, and have them mail his results to him. He lives 6 hours away from Edmonton. So he couldn't casually drive there to pick his forms up. To boot they waited 9 days before they informed him that they would not mail the results. So much for checking the mail daily.

I have just had another thought...

Muz did not have to have the chicken pox vaccinaton. He had the pox as a child. Like I said, all he has as far as proof of his vaccinations are on the immunization card. As of right now, we have no proof that he "didn't" need to get the chicken pox vaccination. So on the immunization card, it would appear as if he plain and simply hasn't had it, when in reality he dosen't need it. He's immune.

So we do in fact need that DS-3025(vaccination documentation worksheet) to prove that he didn't need the c. pox shot.

good grief

Your fiance needs to try and get a copy of that DS-3025.

Heres the kicker...

Immigration Doctor in Edmonton Canda, where my finace had his medical, no longer does immigration medicals. I guess we could still possibly inquire about getting the DS-3025 from them. I will also contact the Doctor In texas, who transcribes onto the vaccination supplements, to see if his immunization card, etc. with the shots that he has received will be all that we need.

Getting the DS-3025 FROM the doc in Edmonton will not be a gentle task I'm sure. Dealing with that office has been no walk in the park.

Ok, but do you guys think that not allready having it on Form DS-3025(vaccination documentation worksheet) will make a difference? All we have is the adult immunization card, etc.

Question for you guys....

When my fiance had his medical in edmonton canada, he was never given a copy of the Form DS-3025(vaccination documentation worksheet?)

All he has is his BC Health passport listing his mmr shot and his Alberta adult immunization card, listing his tetnus shot and the date given.

My question is...
Will we have trouble getting the vaccination info. put onto the vaccination suplement form I-693A Without the info. being on form DS-3025 first?

I have read on here some where that there is a CS doctor in Texas that will transfer info. onto I-693A For A Small fee. All we have to do is fax the info. to them. I just don't know if faxing the immunization card, and BC health passport (which is the only thing showing the immunizations given) will be sufficient.

Any info/imput would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hey,

I'm not understanding why this is odd, haha. I HATE airplane rides myself, and can tolerate them a lot easier if I have company as well. It's no fun to sit on an airplane for like 15 hours alone watching the same movies over and over again. wink.gif

You're right it is nice to have a friend by your side. I just thought it was odd to have someone randomly asking here on VJ. Maybe if they knew a few of the people here really well that is more understandable.

It is understandable regardless of wether you know anyone on here or not. I understand completely. Have a great flight Nathan Neran!!!! smile.gif

Hello everyone...

I have a quick question. Muz and I made entry into the states from Canada on Thursday(We drove across into couts Montana). Our experience was absolutely horrible. We were treated as if we were common criminals by a female border patrol guard. I'll write more about our experience when I have more time.

Our concern is this...

After Muz's visa was activated, I ask the guard what exactly would happen to the packet that the consulate had given muz. (the white packet that was habded over at the border)

The guard stated that the packet would sat there at the port of entry. I was schocked. I was under the impression that it would be sent to our local office? california service center? Anywhere but being kept there?

what exactly happens to the packet that is surrenedered at the border? If it does end up staying at the port of entry, what will happen when we go to adjust status?

Thanks

QUOTE (KAT&Allie @ Sep 20 2008, 04:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
If you want to send the paperwork in fast, according to the USCIS internal memo, the RFE should not be issued if the G-325A form is not signed by her as she could sign it at her interview. The link to the document is here http://www.uscis.gov...325A_110105.pdf
Just print it out and attach it to the G-325A form you send.

Otherwise, it's OK to send her already filled in form for her signature only.

Good luck to you both on your visa journey.

There have been many people who have failed to sign forms, and have then received an RFE. Absolutely do not risk not signing anyform. Why would you want to risk delaying your case for a needless RFE? Yes, you can fill her forms out on your computer, mail them to her to sign, then she can mail them back to you. I would not hand right anything. If you run out of room in the little blocks, type the rest out on an additional piece of paper. When you create your cover letter, put reference to it.

I have no idea what to check. Can anyone help me with this? My fiance will have a lot of money saved by the time he gets here, so in a since I will not be contributing...but then again, I'm sure I wll be contributing in some way, especially after we marry. Just not sure how to take this queston, or what to check.

Or should I put the exact amount that I made for the year in 07?

Go to the New Zealand Ministry of Justice web site to get it. This is what my fiance did. For him however, the certificate that he received from New Zealand is useless. My fiance will be having his interview in Vancouver Canada. The consulate contacted him through mail to let him know that he would have to sign a third party request form. The consulate sent him this form in the mail. My fiance signed the release form, mailed in back to vancouver. Vancouver sends it to New Zealand, New Zealand sends the police certificate back to Vancouver. Takes approximately two months to receive the police certificate from New Zealand. Since it was just the 2 of us, the "legitimate" companies were too expensive. I didn't want the arches, etc...just us; the heart was Doug's idea (he's so romantic). I searched yahoo local for wedding officiants in St. Pete, and found Vicki aka Beach Angel, and she was just that...an angel. She helped me with everything from flowers to the ceremony for $150...very reasonable!

I preprinted the form for the marriage license b4 we left and when we got there, we went to the county courthouse with the form, a picture ID, and $101 (for 4 certified copies for our AOS). We had the license within 30 minutes. Now here's the tip: after your wedding, take the marriage license back to the courthouse for filing yourself...you get your copies right on the spot !

Where are you planning to get married? Is it just the two of you?

Thanks fr your reply...

yes, it will most likely be just us two. I checked a company out called Bare foot weddings. The prices seem so steep for what we will actually get, which is pretty much nothing. We are going to get married on Destin Beach in Florida. We at first were aiming more towards Clearwater Beach, but have pretty much decided on Destin. Beaches seem to be much prettier there.

As far as as the marriage license...we have to have 4 certified copies of the license for AOS? Just out of curiosity, why 4 copies? Because Muz will not have a social security number before me marry, I'm guessing that he will only have to show his passport when we apply for the license? I think I seen some where on the marrige license form, a space for both the bride and grooms social security number. I have been a bit worried about this.

So you didn't have to have a witness? I always thought one was needed. smile.gif What a relief!

Thanks so much for your responses.

Much appreciated!

CanadaImporting a vehicle temporarily.
My fiance and I have decided that he will import his vehicle into the states when the time comes. The process seems not to complex and if I amunderstanding it correctly, he will only have to fill out 1 form which is the HS-7 form.

My concern is this....
The vehicle must be exported withing one year from the date of entry. Will we literally have to drive his vehicle out of the U.S back into Canada? The vehicle is old and may not even last a full year. Who knows. lol
We thought that we could just have it junked after we saved up enough for a down payment on a new car/truck.

Has anyone ever imported a vehicle temp?

Thanks

Steph

For Nonresidents of the U.S. importing a vehicle for no more than one year:
As a general rule all motor vehicles imported into the United States that are less than 25 years old must comply with Federal motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS), or be brought into compliance with the FMVSS by a Registered Importer. However, temporary importations (up to one year) by Nonresidents of the United States are exempt from this requirement and do not have to be modified to conform to the FMVSS.

Nonresidents of the United States may import a vehicle registered in another country for personal use for a period not to exceed one year (for imports of longer than one year, see below). The vehicle cannot be sold and it must be exported within one year from the date of entry. A form HS-7 (available at ports of entry or in PDF format from NHSTA) must be completed and presented to U.S. Customs. Your passport number and country of issue are required on the HS-7 form. Use Box 5 on HS-7 form.

How could they possibly issue you your visa without knowing the results of your medical exam? I could be wrong but, I'm sure you have to have all your paper work, medical exam, vaccines etc., ready to go/complete before you would sit for your interview.

So it is not going to be a problem if in fact he does not have his third (shot) series of tetnus, before the medical?

CanadaVaccination question...
I am now very concerned because, my fiance has had no immunizations what so ever. He is originally from New Zealand, and he says that it was not a requirement at the time to have them.

I found a web site on line that states the following......

Combination Vaccine for:

Tetanus Diphtheria (Td)
An initial series of three immunizations, which are normally received in childhood at ages 2, 4 and 6 months and a booster immunization within the last 10 years must be documented.

or

If you have no proof of a primary series you must begin an adult series of TWO doses of Td 4 to 8 weeks apart with a third dose 6 to 12 months after the second. You must be as up-to-date as possible with your series at the time of your immigration medical.

or

You must have proof of a Td booster within the 4 weeks prior to your immigration medical.
or

An antibody titers blood test showing proof of immunity to tetanus and diphtheria.

MMR Combination Vaccine for:

Mumps
Measles
German Measles (Rubella)
If you were born after 1956 you must show proof of immunization for mumps, measles and German measles
or

An antibody titers blood test showing proof of immunity to MMR (mumps/measles/rubella).

or

You must receive an immunization for MMR.

Chickenpox (Varicella) A verbal declaration of chickenpox.

or
Proof of immunization against chickenpox. Normally two immunizations 4 to 8 weeks apart or the first of the two within the 4 weeks prior to your immigration medical examination.

or

An antibody titers blood test showing proof of immunity to chickenpox (varicella).

Hepatitis B For ages 19 and under.
Influenza Influenza as of Nov 1, 2003. Age 50 and above.

with the Tetanus Diphtheria, it states that you must begin an adult series of TWO doses of Td 4 to 8 weeks apart with a third dose 6 to 12 months after the second. There is noway that that he will have time to receive his third dose before the interview.

What is going to happen in this case? Another question....can he have his regular doctore give him the vaccines as opposed to the immigration doctor?

Canadaaffidavit of support question...
Hello everyone...

I have a question about #11 on the affidavit of support.

It states, I intend or I do not intend to make specific contibutions to the support of the person named in item 3.

I have no idea what to check. Can anyone help me with this? My fiance will have a lot of money saved by the time he gets here, so in a since I will not be contributing...but then again, I'm sure I wll be contributing in some way, especially after we marry. Just not sure how to take this queston, or what to check.

Thanks

Steph

So, you would have been happier had he not thanked Canada for their help in Afghanistan?

I too, after reading the article, thought "umm...what was said in this that would offend ANYone?" The comment about people pulling out of afghanistan wasn't directed toward any certain person or country, he simply stated that it was a concern of his that it COULD happen. It's very possible that it could, but he never said "I'm worried Canada will pull out."

I will say that I was only in 9th grade when 9/11 happened, and I had no idea that we even got help from Canada at that time (I mostly heard about the UK helping). So I am by far more ignorant in this field than most, but I wanted to state my opinion on that article. I can understand why you would be offended that he never thanked you for helping us in 9/11....but I don't see how you can criticize him for standing up and thanking you now.

because one of the major public weapons in diplomacy is thanking or withholding thanks. see:

"Bush and Rice's remarks about Canada were made in light of criticism against NATO countries like France and Germany, which have only deployed troops to parts of Afghanistan that are relatively peaceful."

The very public thanks this week weren't really directed towards Canada-they were meant to send a message to France and Germany. Ignoring Canadian contributions for years and only sending Rice to publicly thank Canada when the administration wanted to call out other countries is piling insults on top of the original insult of not acknowledging Canada since 2001.

Now this is what you call reading into.... Good Grief

Is it because it's the U.S. president that it somehow seems acceptable? If Stephen Harper said:

"My biggest concern is that George Bush says, 'Well, we're kind of tired of Iraq and, therefore, we think we're going to leave,".

You are greatly altering the structure of his statement to make your point. Plus, George Bush said NOTHING about Stephen Harper. You are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

No, you are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. good.gif enough said.

Seriously, you turned a hypothetical that Bush posed into an attack on someone that wasn't even mentioned.

I agree with you completely. So much for Bush giving our allies a compliment. Bush is damned if he does and damned if he dosen't.

Canadaaffidavit/bank statements
Hi all,

Question....

When my fiance goes for his interview in Vancouver, am I going to need banking statements showing all my deposits and withdrawel, history, etc., even if I make above the poverty line?

Thanks

The picture of your flower girl dancing with your ring bearer is one of the cutest things I've ever seen! And, as everyone else has said, you look beautiful and happy together. Congratulations.

Well, let's hope then that you hear from the consulate before you interview, and get a copy of that form if that is what you need. I don't know what your schedule is like, but if worse comes to worse, I suppose you'll have to get other "form", and then they'll issue your visa after receiving it like jenmac75 had to. Hopefully though the one you have is what you'll need!

Sorry I couldn't help you more than I did. Best of luck at your interview, let us know when you know!

Spoke to a really nice lady today from the consulate in Vancouver. She cleared up the issue of the police report from New Zealand. The one that we obtained from the ministry of justice is all that we will need for my fiances interview. We do not have to sign a release form for the consulate to send off for it. Like the lady said...why would they send off for the same police report that we allready have? It would make no sense. So now we feel much better no longer being in the dark.

*sighs*

How did you get someone to actually talk to you on the phone from the vancouver consulate? whenever i call.. all they tell me is that they dont speak with people over the phone directly and im always told to write them an email (WHICH THEY DONT RESPOND TO!) Did you dial a different number? or whats up? i wanna talk to someone instead of waiting for a never coming email. thanks smile.gif

When I called the consulate, a recording stated that they would not accept calles regarding k visas. So I was under the same impression. Like I have said in previous posts...I have been eailing continuously with no responses. I finally decided to take a different approach and began sending the same email with my questions several times a day under different accounts. I put my phone number in the email as well.

I was contacted this morning. One thing you should know...I was told that I should have been putting the case # in the email. I'm not sure why, but this is what I was told.

Good luck!
